| I had an amazing time on the whale watching tour. Noel and Hillary are extremely friendly and knowledgeable and were able to give lots of background information regarding the whales and the dolphins we saw. It was also a lot of fun looking out for the killer whales seeing who could spot them first and the day was topped off by a beautiful full rainbow. I highly recommend Sanctuary for any whale watching you do. | ||||||

| I've been on many game safaris in Africa. This trip compares with any of them for variety and numbers of creatures we saw, from jellyfish to whales. It was magic seeing the orcas leap, like overgrown diabolic dolphins, and the humpbacks saluting with their tails was a sight I'll never forget. Loved it all, the sea lions, sea otters, seals and birdlife, and not forgetting the poppy seed muffins. Thanks | ||||||

| Very happy with the trip we booked. Left on time and within minutes spotted a number of killer whales. We remained with them and saw in total 5 before heading further out to see a humpback. Boat was a nice size and conditions were particularly calm-all in all an enjoyable experience. Irish lad | ||||||

| Instructions to arrive at Moss Landing, parking instructions, and where to wait were clear. The boat was clean, snacks were reasonably priced, coffee was good, and cold drinks were cold. The boat wasn't overcrowded - about 10 people - and left and returned on time. A protected cabin allowed those to be inside when it became chilly. The capitan gave a commentary when necessary, without talking excessively, and the crew was friendly and seem to be sincerely interested in wildlife conservation. Although we saw no great whales, we were excited to see several pods of orcas throughout the trip. Be sure to wear layered clothing, as it was cold on the return trip. | ||||||

| The whales were great....but the Blue Sharks, Jellies, Seals, and Killer Whales weren't bad either! Thanks for working hard to get all of it in!!! Cheers, Robbie | ||||||

| from what i saw on the 'net it was implied that the boat was MUCH MUCH bigger!! I'm not sure how much more than $45 the MUCH bigger boat would cost.... but it'd be worth it! Nothing decent in the toilet department. Nothing more than passing mention of the Life Jackets.... admitedly it was our responsibility; but i think life jackets should have been urged, in retrospect. Our Captain did find whales, and other sealife... that was appreciated. But all in all... i would never mention this Whale Watching boat without pointing out that it is pretty Small! | ||||||

| What a gift to be able to be so close to whales, jellies, thousands of sea lions, and sharks. Truly amazing. | ||||||

| The crew was skilled and low key, giving detailed commentary about the area and the animals when appropriate and staying quiet when appropriate. The Captain, Noel, made accommodations in altering course to suit the comfort of the passengers. They were very good at spotting and inobtrusively following marine life--in 4 short hours we stayed with a group of Orcas, a mother-daughter pair of Humpbacks, a gang of Risso dolphins 50-100 strong. We saw a gazillion Jellies, tons of sea lions, an elephant seal, and even a shark. The fall weather was perfect, sunny and cool, with calm seas. We all had free range of the boat, with flexible seating. Terrific for us adults and our school-age children too. | ||||||

Think twice if you get bad motion sickness

| Let me start by saying that the experience was incredible and I am so very glad I went on the whale watching trip with such caring and clearly passionate tour guides. My own downfall is the fact that I have pretty bad motion sickness and the nature of whale watching involves a lot of stoping and rocking and apparently bad whale breath. The wristband offered for rental didn't do a whole lot for me (though, I have to wonder how much worse I would have been without it) and I spent about half of the trip sitting with my head down and eyes closed in order to keep myself from getting sick once again. That being said, the time I was able to have my eyes open, we saw many whales REALLY close to the boat, hundreds of jelly's and various otters and sea lions. It was definitely an unforgetable morning despite my inner ear's revolt. Highly recommended. | ||||||

| Loved the smaller boat, and easy going and knowledgeable captain. We saw several humpbacks very close by, a school of dolphins, and a sunfish. Highly recommend. | ||||||

| Had a good weather day and and experienced more whale and sea life activity yhan on our other whale watching trips out of Juneau, Alaska and Anacortes, Washington over the past several years. On a November Saturday we had a small group (12) on a boat with a capacity of 39 so there was plenty of room to move around. I think that even with a larger group there would still be ample room to enjoy the trip. I prefer the smaller boat to the larger boats that are Monterey based. Noel and Andy were the best guides we have had on a trip. They impressed us as they turned the boat around on our way back in to pick up a potato chip bag floating in the water. They are true to the word conservation. Moss landing is less congested than Monterey and easily accessable without hassle. Andy was also a good restaurant guide as we enjoyed lunch at the Whole Enchlllada right at Moss Landing. | ||||||

| This is my second time and took 2 grandchildren. The guides were superb. We saw awesome seas of jellyfish like never before and sailed with a pod of approximately 200 Riso dolphins just to add to the featured attraction of humpback and balien whales. | ||||||

| Even before we had left the harbour, we had seen a sea otter, sealions and pelicans. We later had fantastic views of humpback whales and to top it all, we had a group of over 100 Risso's and Pacific White-Sided dolphins. A fantastic trip! I can't wait to go again. | ||||||

| A great time for all, including the crew. We lost count of the number of humpbacks observed. And as a bonus (!); a group of about 100 sea lions swimming towards something special, not afraid of us, but Captain Noel made sure he steered clear. Highly recommended as it was a seminal experience. We group of friends were mesmerized by natures best. Trust the crew, they know what they are doing. | ||||||
