Native New Yorker and food enthusiast Addie Tomei shaped Savory Sojourns in her own image - with guides that share her knowledge, passion and enthusiasm for cooking and the city they call home. All experiences are led by Addie or one of her personally trained guides.
Since its formation, Savory Sojourns has had the pleasure of sharing New York's culinary treasures with countless New Yorkers and visitors, including even the gliterati of Addie's Oscar-winning daughter, actress Marisa Tomei. From restaurants to gourmet markets to patisseries and greenmarkets, Savory Sojourns incorporates them all.

Activity Description
Harlem, known as the capital of African American culture, is home to magnificent architecture - from picturesque colleges, hotels and churches to quaint brownstones. Its cultural treasures include the Apollo Theater and the Studio Museum of Harlem.
Harlem is also a mecca for authentic soul food and soul music. World famous from the 20’s to the 60’s for jazz and Black American culture, Harlem is enjoying an economic revitalization that makes it once again a choice neighborhood. Former President Bill Clinton, recognizing the area’s recent energy, has even located his post-Presidential offices in the heart of this historic neighborhood.
This five-hour tour will introduce you to a Harlem you never knew existed:- We'll begin our journey at a chic new Harlem cafe to share a light breakfast.
- We’ll stroll through some of the city’s most vibrant and beautiful streets and visit exotic ethnic food shops.
- There will be a special tour inside the famous Apollo Theater
- Other stops will include some of the landmarks of African American culture - including the Schomburg Center, the Abyssinian Baptist Church and the elegant streets of Striver’s Row.
- The tour will conclude with a mouthwatering lunch at one of Harlem’s best soul food restaurants.
This tour covers a lot of ground and entails extensive walking.
