| Small group size was a plus. Addie Tomei is the type of person that makes you feel like you have know her forever. Now I know why I have always liked her daughter...Because her mother is so like able. A lot of interesting information about the neighborhood and the tasting of some very good foods. The cooking school was excellent,a very clean, warm, friendly atmosphere. Our family really had a wonderful time. Thanks Addie | ||||||

| The walk was informative, friendly and fun, mainly thanks to our guide Eileen who was a talkative local. However there really was very little walking, we missed the galleries (which had been a signifcant part of my reason for doing the tour) and the water taxi was not available on the day. To me these things were not critical as I had time to go and see the galleries afterwards, but they would prevent me from recommending the tour. | ||||||

Visit Italy in the Bronx

| The tour included visits to Italian specialities stores within a few blocks, and ended with a meal at a very scenic restaurant named Zero, Otto Nove. Several of the visits included a talk with the owner or free samples. My favorite part was the visit to the Terranova Bakery and the opportunity to see the brick ovens heated by coal. | ||||||

| We were in New York for four days. Two days general sightseeing, one day for a major league baseball game and a play in the evening and one day with Addie in The Bronx. Going to Arthur Avenue was "the best". A perfect day: a wonderful hostess to guide us, great stops along the way, fantastic lunch at Roberto's, and good company to enjoy it all with. What more could you ask? | ||||||

| We continue to enjoy seeing NYC through the eyes of Addie! She is enthusiastic about HER city and is a wealth of knowledge of the area. She makes every effort to make the tour interesting and FUN! We have a better understanding of the different parts of NYC that she has "walked" us through. The most enjoyable activity is sitting down over lunch and a lovely bottle of wine and reviewing our day! It's evident that she loves people and her city! We are looking forward to our next Addie Adventure! | ||||||

| Very enjoyable time. Will recommend to others. Only complaint was carrying the bit heavy but very useful "Slow Foods" book around. | ||||||

| What a wonderful tour! My friend and I come into NYC a lot. We wanted to familiarize ourselves with different parts of Manhattan. We chose the Soho/Little Italy tour since we didn't know the area well. We enjoyed learning about the history of the area and going into the various shops. The places we toured were varied from a Chinese market to a Spanish deli and an unbelievably delicious chocolate shop! Not to mention the italian specialty shops and lunch... wow! what a meal. Our guide Eileen was friendly and knowledgeable. She felt like a friend you've known your whole life by tours end! Our group was small and the people friendly. I would recommend this tour to everyone. I can't wait to do another. | ||||||

| My husband and I enjoyed our tour with Addie of Arthur Ave. very much. She knows just the right places to take you to sample the local "goods". And they were good!! Highly recommend Addie as a guide and the tour both; if using public transportation it is a bit of a walk from subway drop off to Arthur Ave. but as long as the weather is pleasant not a negative in our experience. | ||||||

| As returning Savory Sojourns enthusiasts, my mother and I had yet another wonderful experience with Addie Tomei--this time on her tasty and informative tour of the Bronx's Arthur Avenue. Addie took us to the best places to shop and eat in the real Little Italy--I now feel like an "insider." Highly suggested tour. Mille grazie, Addie! Ci vediamo! | ||||||

| Mrs. Tomei was wonderful. She knew the answers to all of our questions. We were given the opportunity to try food items of which we had never heard. We enjoyed all of the items which Mrs. Tomei recommended and decided to return for more after our tour. We learned lots about the area as well as the food. This tour was great!! | ||||||

| There was a small group of six (6) of us. The family 'with children' were from England (parents are U.S. born), and their two daughters are young adults (19+). Everyone enjoyed themselves thoroughly and was comfortable as a group within the first hour. Our tour guide, Addie, was delightful, friendly, informative and funny. This tour is definitely for those who enjoy learning insider tips on restaurants, food shopping (international and domestic), as well as a brief history of the area and architecture. The small group size assures that the tour provides a personal setting so all questions are answered and you aren't fighting from the back to hear. Ending the day with a delicious long leisurely group lunch was the perfect finish to a wonderful tour. After twenty years of, at the very least, visiting NYC annually we learned interesting facts we never knew. We definitely plan on returning for this company's tour offerings of other areas! | ||||||

| Addie, Both Christine and I had the most wonderful morning with your sister-in-law Eileen who managed to show us a view of Greenwich Village which we could not possibly have managed on our own. I am sorry it has taken so long to actually send a review but at long last I have gotten around to it. Every shop or location we visited was extremely welcoming, probably due in no small measure to Eileen's charm & lovely personality. Neither of us can actually name our favourite stop, they were all exciting. The other couple from California on that mornings tour were lovely and I can honestly say that the tour was the highlight of our visit to New York. The next time we are in New York we shall definitely take another of your tours and indeed have passed on our highest reccomendations to our friends here in Scotland. | Initially, I was hesitant about commiting such a substantial amount of time and money in one activity when our trip seemed too short to begin with!...I'm SO glad that I did! Our guide, Eileen, (Addie's sister-in-law) was wonderful...it was like have a relative in the city!...it didn't take long at all for our group of eight to become friends and it seemed when it was over that no one wanted to leave. We had such a facinating, informative and enjoyable day...dare I say...'magical!' I'll be scheduling my next trip to NYC around what Addie has to offer!! | ||||||

I finally "got" the Village.

| We (my husband and I) have vacationed in NYC 3-4 times a year for 25 years, and thought we knew most of the nooks and crannies. Though we usually stay 'uptown', we have often wandered the streets of the Village. But until we participated in the Savory Sojourns tour through the Italian Greenwich Village we never "got it". The tour goes beyond the vintage shops and coffee houses and gets right to the heart and soul of the village. I was so touched by the richness of each of the places to which we were introduced, that I already have plans to spend my next vacation in one of the B&B's in the heart of the village. I highly recommend this tour, and though this was my first Savory Sojourns event, I plan to work future vacations around their other offerings. The website does a better job than I in describing each stop, and the personal touch from the owner of these tours makes you know, from the beginning, that this is something special. I would go so far as to invite native New Yorkers to participate as well. As I have been told by many locals, they just don't get around to getting out and enjoying the city. These tours teach you more in a few hours than you could discover on your own in years. A++++ | ||||||
