I couldn't have planned a better day. Our tour guide, Aida, Was enthusiastic and informative. We took in the sounds, sights, smells and tastes of Greenwich Village. We ejoyed the day and would love to take more trips with Savory Sojourns.

A GREAT WAY TO SPEND A DAY!

After five years of trying to coordinate my annual fall theater trip to NYC with a walking tour by Savory Sojourns, this fall finally saw it happen. What a thoroughly enjoyable day! My girlfriend and I met Addie and the other four people in our group at the famous Balthazar Restaurant. in SoHo. A brief orientation was given while we drank coffee and ate scrumptious Balthazar Breakfast Speciality Treats. We spent the next few hours visiting small shops in SoHo and Little Italy. Addie seemed to know everyone and the shop owners treated us like royalty. We received tasty samples at many of the places we visited. My very favorite stop was at MarieBelle Chocolates....the samples were extraordinary! The tour ended with a fantastic lunch at IL CORTILE which is a Landmark in Little Italy. It was very Interesting to me that the two men in our group seemed to like the tour as much as the gals did. This tour is for everyone and I recommend it highly!

Well worth it!

Addie led us on a superb "walk" through a very unique neighborhood! She is a most gracious host and an excellent example of a friendly New Yorker! Her knowledge of the area helped us learn the history. The people she introduced us to were friendly and courteous. The "tastings" were scrumptious. Lunch was enjoyable because of her company. We look forward to many more walks with Addie!

Fun But Overpriced
Thu, Sep 28, 06   10:00 AM vpeters Female 50-59 Local Other
The tour was enjoyable, and lunch was great, but thought it was a bit expensive for what we got. Addie is knowledgeable, interesting and good at what she does, but the stops at the culinary shops (i.e. Sur La Table & Dean & DeLucca) were too short to really be of any value. The Italian & Spanish deli stops were very good, as was the chocolate shop, and the samples were good. Lunch was delicious and plentiful. A fun day but a bit overpriced for what it was. Cut the price to $100 per person and you'd have a true winner!

a window into New York life

We had a great time with Addie visiting the speciality shops of Little Italy and Soho - places we may never have seen if we had not been on the tour. Lunch at Il Cortile was also special - the food was delicious. We would definitely recommend it to our friends in Australia.

Great combo of exercise, information, and food

I enjoyed the warmth and friendliness of our guide--and the information she provided made Soho more interesting. Of course, great food. Far better than the average bus tour--nothing beats walking the streets with someone who has a passion for her work. Thank you so much!

Not Recommended High Price Little Value

I felt that Addie was ill prepared and the value is not there. the information is also lacking. The highlight of the trip was the boat trip back with an enthusiastic guide who was informative and not at all connected with Addie's business Savory Sojourns. Try Foods Of NY Much Better Value ! Great time in NYC!

This is a fantastic tour for anyone visiting NYC! I love to cook and really enjoyed finding the best "foodee" places and being able to taste samples all along the route! My husband came along and also really enjoyed each and every stop we made! Our tour guide was very informative about the city itself, NYC history, the great architecture, and of course everything culinary that this great city has to offer! Lunch and breakfast were fabulous! We both highly recommend taking this tour if you're headed to NYC!

The highlight of our NYC experience!!!

When I booked this tour for miy husband and I to take our teenage daughter on, he was skeptical about spending so much time "walking around" and she wasn't so sure herself. Addie quickly won them over with her cheeful spirit (chocolate bread and sticky buns at Baltshazzar didn't hurt either!). We truly enjoyed every single experience that Addie escorted us through. This tour ended up being our favorite experience during our 5 day stay in the city!!!!!

Wonderful, personal tour guide!

I felt as if I was being shown the Big Apple by an old friend who lives there. Addy gave us some history, interesting tidbits, and great fun, all while touring the shops and special eateries of SoHo and Little Italy. Even though we were joined by strangers on the tour, we all felt like great friends by the end of our time together. The whole tour was relaxed and comfortable, not rushed. Even if you are not a "foodie", you will love this experience!

My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed the Harlam tour. It was a day we'll never forget. It really is a great way to learn things about the city that we would never discover on our own.

OUTSTANDING LOCAL FEEL

Let me tell you! This was my first trip to NYC and I had the best time with Eileen and Addie. You are made to feel at home in NYC seeing the sights with a dear friend. I would recommed any of the tours; if they are are enjoyable as "Soho and Little Italy". We stopped and shopped at 9 different places, had personal tastings at several and were encouraged to sample the food at each food stop. The lunch afterward was superior, the restaurant was charming and the food a delight. Don't miss this one, the best way to see NYC. I am coming back to NY soon and plan another Savory Sojourn.

Not even the rain could diminish our enthusiasm. With a small group and a very knowledgeable tour guide, we were able to see places, learn historical facts, sample delicacies, shop and enjoy a sumptuous meal with very congenial fellow tourists.

Mother/Daughter Celebration

My 21 year old daughter and myself shared a fantastic day with Eileen and Addie touring SoHo and Little Italy. We stopped at 15 locations, and enjoyed ourseves so much, we have returned to shop and eat additional times. The ladies made us feel like family immediately and are extremely knowledgable. We are looking forward to a return trip in the near future with them. This is the best way to become familar with the neighborhoods of NYC.
