My husband I found the Tour of Hell's Kitchen very informative. Our guide, Addie, was helpful in providing a good deal of history and background of the neighborhood as we made the tour, which made it all the more interesting. In addition, the Thai restaurant where we had lunch was outstanding. The food was superb. We enjoyed ourselves immensely and hope to take another Savory Sojourns' tour in the near future.

Addie gave us a look at a peice of New York that we would never been able to expereince on our own. Not only were we able to "taste our way" through the neighborhood, Addie's knowledge and stories about the area added greatly to our New York experience. We are anxious to return and go on a few more "savory sojourns" with Addie. This is a MUST DO- for out of towners AND locals! Ellyn & Kenney

Gallery a misnomer

I enjoyed that the size of the group was small and the leader, Addie Tomei, is very personable and enthusiastic. However, the "gallery" portion of the tour was completely lacking and might have been helped if the tour operator had done some research. The tour started at 10AM but most galleries do not open until 12 Noon. We walked around (the views, as advertised, are spectacular) but were eventually able to get into only 1 very small photographic gallery. Another gallery we tried to get into was closed to install a new exhibit. It seems someone could have called ahead. After the 1 gallery we had lunch and it was time for the tour to end after a quick stop at the Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory. I would have enjoyed knowing more about the creative aspect of this neighborhood and that was not part of the tour.

Just back from our NYC weekend and the Greenwich Village tour with Addie. What a delight! Ate SO much good food we didn't eat the rest of the day! Loved seeing a side of NYC I'd never seen before and probably wouldn't have experienced as much had I been on my own. But Addie was knowledgeable and delightful. Will definitely recommend and try to do another tour with her the next time I'm in town!

As an avid New York City tour goer, I recently went on the Italian Greenwich Village tour with Savory Sojourns. What a fantastic and tasty experience! Addie Tomei is interesting, knowledgeable, and fun. A must for any native New Yorker, day tripper, or tourist visiting New York.

The tour was wonderful and historic and best of all the food was outstanding. The tour guide was warm, friendly and very knowledgable. I would recommend this to everyone who enjoys spending a day with friends or a spouse. My friends and I can't wait until our next tour.

Great Intimate and Interactive Tour

I thoroughly enjoyed my tour on April 26,2006 of Greenwich Village. The initial meeting of the group was a nice way to start the tour with pastry and coffee. It made it that much easier to walk and discuss things with the group (especially since I attended the tour alone and many others came with friends). I enjoyed the history of each shop and the neighbourhood eclectic nuances we were told. My highlight was the old speak easy - what a delight to hear about. The size of the tour (7 in total) was so managable. It kept it very itimate and comfortable given the hustle and bustle of the streets. It was lovely to sample foods at each stop and shop as we liked. I would hightly recommend this tour and hope to attend others on my next visit to NY. Cheers!

My friend Neil & I had the pleasure of meeting the effervescent Addie Tomei in our recent 10 day visit to beautiful NYC! It was through the internet that I discovered Savoury Sojourns & I am so glad I did! You get to see NYC from a New Yorker's perspective plus you get to eat great food & drink wonderful wines! WE enjoyed listening to Addie recount the History of the various places we visited. I highly recommend this great tour. I have friends travelling to NYC later this year & I will be telling them to get in & book now!. However, I do think that it is Addie's bubbly pertsonality and passion for her City that really makes it very special. Janelle Ford Sydney Australia

Fantastic insight into foodie New York!

I thoroughly enjoyed the walking / cooking tour of Greenwich Village that I did with Addie in April 2006. As a visitor from Australia, it gave me the opportunity to visit some fantastic local produce stores in Greenwich Village and be guided by Addie, who has excellent local knowledge. If I had to pick a highlight from a day of highlights, it would be the fresh mozzarella (made on the premises) at Joe's Dairy. It was truly delicious and made me wish it was in my neighbourhood! The cooking class was also very good - it was hands on, but not arduous, and at the end we got to eat the results which were delicious. Chef Paul was very knowledgable and helpful and a good instructor. I would highly recommend doing a Savoury Sojourn with Addie - she is an extremely knowledgable guide and a charming host. I would love to return to NY and do another tour with Savoury Sojourns as it was a highlight of my trip.

This was a delightful tour. Addie is a superb guide--knows her stuff & she is articulate, humorous, well organized, & classy (as befits the very best kind of native New Yorker). We thoroughly enjoyed our day with her in Bronx's Little Italy and would enthusiastically endorse Savory Sojurns Tours to others. Well done & thanks! Jean & Tom Penny, St. Augustine, FL.

Our guide was very knowledgeable about the area and the stores that were visited. There is a nice variety of places to see and you are never rushed. The cooking class is a great way to finish off the trip. The instructor is very easy to get along with and the recipes are designed for simplicity and taste. All in all a very nice time that I would recommend to anyone wanting to explore the culinary side of NY.

After taking this tour, I felt like a New Yorker even though I'm from Boston!!! Savory Sojourns gave you the inside look at Greenwich Village and took us to places I would probably have never ventured. Our cooking lesson was hands on which I enjoyed very much. You didn't just observe...........you participated, which made it that much more fun. Would definitely go on another Savory Sojourns tour.

Well beyond my expectations.

This tour was absolutely amazing. It went far beyond anything I expected and was certainly worth three times what I paid for the ticket. Addie was personable, knowledgeable, funny and enthusiastic. By the end of the tour, she made everyone feel as if we were all old friends and she is definately someone you would like to see again and have coffee with. I am a pastry chef in Charleston, SC and food is my life's passion. I learned so much on this tour and tasted and experienced a quality and product that I had not seen before. Every vendor we visited was polite, informative and genuinely excited to have us there and share their craft. I would definately take this tour again and have recommended it to all of my friends. It was by far the highlight of my trip to New York. Thank You Addie. Thank You Savory Sojourns.

My friend and I were looking for something fun and different to do while in New York. We decided on a tour through Savory Sojourns. We did the Arthur Avenue tour of Little Italy in the Bronx with Addie Tomei and Aida. What a great day we had. This tour made you feel like you were in Italy. Mike's deli was great watching them make mozarella cheese and the lunch at Roberto's was fabulous. Addie and Aida were great and I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see the "Real Little Italy in New York". Brenda Hotham
