FANTABULOUS gastonomical adventure

Penny was the best tour guide EVER! She was so enthusiastic in giving us the history of Bell town and the details on the restaurants, chefs, and the food we were sampling. The food was glorious...scrumptious amuse bouche at every stop that in the end filled you up enough to skip dinner. Learned a lot and enjoyed meeting all the chefs personally... would recommend it to anyone.

Good, but the tour focus needs to be more high-end

Our tour guide was very good - she knew her stuff. The pizza place that was substituted for the grill at Hotel Andra made us eat out on the sidewalk - not a good thing. The BBQ place should not have been on the tour - not good BBQ and certainly not cuisine-level food. The other restaurants on the tour were very good.

I was excited to learn and experience new hidden treasures in the Pikes Place Market Tour.... However, I realized most of the venders we went to were already giving out free samples in the market and tourists could have easily discovered it by wondering around. The history was new and interesting to learn, but the food was a little bit of a dissapointment. We didn't even hit other popular Seattle eats like Starbucks and learn that history (including that the first starbucks isn't really the first starbucks.) Beechers Cheese and Piroshky is also other good eats thats popular in the down town area which was not covered.

This tour was a fun and social way to eat your way through Pike Place Market. There were great stops along the way, and it was nice to sample some of the best places.

Tour guide, Penney, has such a fun and optimistic personality! I just loved her little stories and facts about the Pike's market. She was waiting for us when we arrived 15 minutes early and introduced herself, helping us feel comfortable. We were introduced to different vendors and flavors. I went back to do more shopping the next day and felt I was more oriented to the locations of certain vendors and their wares. Such a fun tour!!

Heather was an awesome tour guide. She was very knowledgable about the city and about the different restaurants we visited. The food at the various places was great. It gave me a lot of insight over where I might like to try a full meal or take my friends to. I had a great time and would definitely do the tour again.

The food tour was an excellent way to discover new restaurants in Seattle. It also gave me a chance to try new things...and some things I didn't think I would like. The guide was amazing and I would recommend it to others. Thank you for the great experience.

The tour was conducted by a very energetic Jenny. She took us to some very interesting places, starting with the Tea Shop - try the coconut tea - outstanding. The history of the market and how it operates today was fascinating. We got to stop and sample some wonderful foods, and Jenny gave us hits and recommendations on how to best utilize the market. I think this is an excellent way to get to see a different view of Pike's Place Market. Was a very fun event!

Not enough tastes, too much selling

This tour did not have very many tastes in the market. One stop, the Truffle Shop, was interesting and unusual. The others were not very interesting. And I did not appreciate that the tour made a number of stops for the sole purpose of the guide talking up the great quality of some place that was closed or that we did not visit at all. And ending at a restaurant for a salad -- a salad, for crying out loud -- was just insulting.

Had a great time touring Pike Place Market with Penny from Seattle Food Tours. She was very knowledgeable and fun. We saw (and tasted) an interesting blend of Pike Place's vendors. We ended at the Steelhead Diner. Exceptional! If only we had room for the desserts! I recommend taking this tour early in your stay in Seattle so you can re-visit the places you like the best. Oh, and you get a discount on all you buy from the vendors you visit, even if you go back later in the day. I "saved" enough to more than pay for the tour price. Go. Eat. You'll love it.

Our tour consisted of 3 adults and two children. Penny was our guide and she was marvelous -- very enthusiastic and very informing. All the stops were great. We spent a fair amount of time at the Pike Market on our own but I would highly recommend the tour as it goes well beyond what you get from self touring. The kids (10 & 12) were treated wonderfully. The vendors were all as nice as could be and the samples of food were all great. It was really one of the highlights of our trip to the Pacific Northwest.
