Great tour for locals and tourists!
Seattle Walking Food Tour of Belltown & Pike Place

My husband and I traveled from out of town, but I grew up in Seattle. I brought my friend and her 4 year old son. It's a lot of walking for smaller children and he was thoroughly tired by the end. I wouldn't recommend a stroller since it can get crowded in Pike Place Market. From a local's point of view, it was great to learn some interesting facts about Belltown, but even better, it was great to try some good food and learn about restaurants I have always wanted to try but never made the time. My husband, who is notoriously unenthusiastic about going on tours, really liked it. Pros: good info, good food, appropriate portions, enough exercise to walk off the calories. Cons: you'll want lunch afterwards, but now you know where to go!

After looking for Seattle activities online, I came across the Walking Food Tour. My boyfriend and I are so glad that we signed up. Not only were the food samples delicious, but the tour was informative and our guide Bronwyn was friendly and very approachable. Our friends all said they would have to take the tour themselves.

Bronwyn was a delightful guide. The tour was a great way to learn about eating (and drinking) establishments in Seattle. Try to take the tour at the beginning of your stay in Seattle, so you can take advantage of all the great tips.

I recommend this tour if you are not from Seattle. You get to listen to the history behind many restaurants and buildings but most of all, you get to try some delicious samples! You don't actually try samples from all the restaurants showcased by the tour but all the samples you do eat sum up to one meal. It was a delightful tour overall!

We began our tour at a Belltown bakery, with water bottles, a restaurant list and sample bag in tow, we were on our way with Bronwyn, our tour guide at the helm- wetting our morning pallets with "monkey bread" fresh from the ovens of the Macrina bakery and Cafe. Bronwyn was friendly and very knowledgeable about local restaurants, foods and Seattle history. The walking was leisurely with some steep hills but when you're sampling all these goodies, it was good exercise. The tour made it's way through a fish market, a coffee house, terrific restaurants, chocolatier, bakeries and more. Bronwyn told us about the history of chef's and restaurant owners and about Seattle's history as well. My husband and I found the almost three hour tour most enjoyable. Bronwyn, gave us great restaurant recommendations for that evening, told us to get reservations, what to order. She was enthusiastic, well versed, and for a person that by her own admission, doesn't cook, she was very up on all that was happening inside and outside the kitchens of local eateries. Take her tour early in your trip so you know where to eat around Seattle . We highly recommend this tour! It was great!

We were on our honeymoon and I found this food tour on line. We were thrilled with the information given (both the great list of recomended businesses as well as the inside scoop given by the guide). We were very pleased with the history given by the guide as well. The food was GREAT and the portions were excellent as well. We have raved to ALL our friends once we got home about it and have recomended it to anyone who gets to Seattle. We will likely look for other tours of this nature and pray that it comes close to the quaility of this one.

Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable about the local cuisine and history; the weather was near perfect (mid-July), and the samples were delightful. My only misgiving was that there weren't enough samples to suit my taste. I would still recommend for those who want to know what's happening in Belltown area cuisine, even for local Seattle dwellers!

The tour guide knew interesting facts and details that greatly added to our knowledge of the Bell St. area . My husband and I have visited Seattle once a year for the past 20-25 years, so I thought we knew quite a bit about the Pike Place and its surrounding area. She only enhanced our appreciation of the cafes and restaurants in this location. The walk was paced perfectly. It was low key and the food was wonderful! I would recommend this to anyone who wants to learn a bit about the local food scene.

I had a great tour of Bell Town and the Pike Street Market.I loved the history of the area and the growth of Seattle. Our tour guide was excellent and responded to all on the tour with questions and answers. She showed us great resturants and told us of ones to try while in town, the sample food was excellent and more like getting an appetizer then a sample. We found the walk mostly easy and got the mile or so in before we left. . We plan to do it again and see and hear more about Seattle and the surrounding burbs. Thank you Laura B

My boyfriend and I really enjoyed the tour. We had artisan cinnamon buns, a latte, chocolate, a pulled pork sandwich, chowder, coconut cream pie and smoked salmon which generous portions to try. Our leader, Bronwyn, was knowledgeable, accomodating and organized. We were inspired to try other restaurants mentioned on the tour. We got a flavour of the city in more than one sense!

I enjoyed how friendly our tour guide was to our group. She shared some very interesting history about Seattle while giving us detailed information about the different restaurants in Seattle. She knew all about the chefs and their special entrees that they serve. The tasting part was the best part. The day ended with a delicious coconut cream pie dessert.

Bronwyn's was very informed and gracious host. We loved her interaction with the group and with the places of business. We are from Olympia but this tour has spurred our interest in returning to Seattle to enjoy more of the Big Cities LOCAL FLAIR, and naturally continue with the major sporting events, plays, music events that we are used to attending. Thank you!
