This tour is GREAT........A must of all FOODIES
Seattle Walking Food Tour of Belltown & Pike Place

Our guide was wonderful. There were 5 in the tour, the 2 of us from Southern Calif. and 3 folks from Seattle. The history of Belltown was very interesting. The places recommened were out of this world. I am now a fan of Tom Douglas, not knowing much about him prior to this tour, I am now a fan. The tastings on the tour were wonderful, from chocolates to clam chowder. We returned to 4 of the places and ate at all but one of Tom Douglas's places. A return to Seattle in the future is a must, if not for the beautiful area, but for the GREAT....FOOD. Txori, Serious Pie and Rose's Chocolate to name a few. A must tour for all foodies .... I had a great time on the food tour. Carol is an excellent host and extremely knowledgeable about all types of food. She offered tips on how to combining certain restaurants by visiting one for happy hour and then dinner at another. It appears that she knows most of the restaurant owners and is highly respected for her role. The other thing Carol did such a great job in was explaining some of the history about Belltown and areas around the Pike Place Market. I didn't even mention all the food we sampled. They were all delicious but my favorite ones were the slider from Frontier and the clam chowder. Thank you again Carol!

This was a wonderful tour. We had five people in our group ranging from 5 to 76 years old and there was something for everyone. We even had one diabetic. Carol, our guide was so informative and entertaining. The restaurants were diverse and the samples were all fantastic. There were enough stops that the walk was not too strenuous for the older members of our group, and although it was a little boring for the youngest member the places we stopped went out of their way to include him with samples that he would enjoy.

My husband and I left our 1 year old daughter at home while we went on this tour. We met up as planned outside the bakery and met our host/tour guide. It was such a rainy/cold day(go figure) and so we were comforted to know that we would be going in and out of cafes/restaurants let alone get to try tons of sampling around the area. We must have walked more than tasted anything and just listened to stories relevant to the area(belltown/pikesplace). It was interesting, the information she gave. I only wished that we sampled more things and had more time to get to know the history of where we went. Also, it was personally too over priced for the event, I would have charged at most 25.00 per person for what we experienced yet it was a great event.

Very useful detail on the type, history and insider information on many diverse restaurants and food oriented sites. City history was fun as well. Great guide. We returned to at least 3 locations (chocolate shop, fish market and "artisan" pizza restaurant) and were very happy with the results. This was in marked contrast to a similarly advertised food tour in San Francisco which had very little food and a guide unable to answer the most basic questions.

Our guide, Carol, was well-informed and provided us with lots of information about the area and it's restaurants. The samples were generous and I was stuffed! I was fortunate to do the tour on a crisp sunny day and we had a small group so we were able to get a very personal tour. Go - you'll enjoy it immensely.

We took four teenaged grandchildren on the tour with us and we all had a great time. The tour leader was well-informed and gave just the right amount of background to help us appreciate the various stops. We had a variety of treats at a variety of different stores and restaurants, from artisanal chocolates to clam chowder, to Basque "pixtos."

I took my husband on the walking food tour for Valentine's day and we both really enjoyed ourselves. Our tour guide (I forgot his hame?) was informative and friendly and we learned a lot about our city. We got to experience great food that we otherwise would have passed without a second thought. We are already recommending it to family and friends (and we plan to return to some of the places we sampled)!

In many ways, this tour may have even been more beneficial to us as locals than for tourists. We learned a lot of interesting things about Seattle history and current culture, that we hadn't known before. And it gave us lots of ideas of places to come back to over a period of time. We didn't have breakfast or lattes prior to the morning tour and found ourselves still pretty hungry by the end of the tour. For the price, we had expected the equivalent of a full meal.

I thought it was a fantastic tour. The guide was knowledgeable and worked with the group to personalize the tour for us and our interests. We got to see a lot of really great restaurants that are not well known but should be. The food was amazing!

The tour was short but very detailed. The guide knew the menu, the owners and the history of every place we visited - making the tour very full and informative. For wine lovers or new-comming Seattlites this tour is a great way to find the little cozy wine cellar you always wanted or the best four star to welcome you to the city! High school seniors or other soon to be graduates would love the tour as a way to find the best place to say 'so long' to their classes! There were a variety of eateries - ranging from fun and casual, to ethnic yummies, or black-tie only occasions. Samples are flavorfull and fit in to many diets - however bathroom stops are very limited so go when you can...

Carol our guide was friendly and informative, but the tour was not as I expected (hoped). I imagined a kind of progressive brunch, beginning with a Latte and a warm muffin (to be eaten sitting down) and then progressing through other "courses." We began at Macrina, but standing outside in the freezing cold. We got an apple coffee cake thing from Macrina (which was cold) which I didn't care for, then we went immediately to pork barbecue. (I'm vegetarian) Somewhere a little down the line, we had a chocolate, followed by salmon salad. We ended with a wonderful tiny piece of cocoanut cream pie (served cold, in the cold). I would recommend a different progression, vegetarian options at every stop, and no "out on the sidewalk standing up" eating. I'd also make sure each place had a significant contribution to make. One little place (Xtori) seemed very friendly, but we didn't even get a chance to sit at the counter (although no one else was in there) and their offering was a tiny tiny (quarter of a sugar cube) piece of cheese on a stick and a thin thin dime-sized piece of smoked meat (which I couldn't eat)- It's a nice idea- I hope it modulates into a progressive brunch. (Of the offerings, my son said the salmon salad was good, and we both liked the sweets)
