Great historical food tour of Seattle!
Sun, May 31  12:00 PM apenasa Female 30-39 Domestic Tourist(s) Group of Friends
My friend and I really enjoyed this tour- it was a great way to see the city through a local's eyes. It turned us on to places we would never have found on our own (The Pink Door, The Truffle Shop, Rose's Chocolates, ...). Great mix of education (the history of the Market was great!), food and kitsch (the gum wall was certainly unique). Our tour guide Penny was tons of fun, was extremely knowlegable and gave recommendations for the rest of our stay in Seattle. One of the highlights of our time in Seattle!

A great intro to fine dining in Seattle!

My adult (25) daughter and I took this tour our first day of our first visit to Seattle. We happened to be staying in a hotel within walking distance of the restaurants, so this was perfect. The restaurants chosen showcased a wide variety of cuisines - all delicious. Steve, our guide, was very congenial and obviously had a good business rapport with each restaurant. Several of the chefs took time out to talk with us, and were very pleasant and welcoming. My daughter pointed out that if we had ordered each item individually, it would have cost a lot more than this tour, so it was even a good value. I will definitely do this again when I return to Seattle with friends. I highly recommend this tour!

Okay but could be alot better

Mostly trips to places with free samples and not really that much history involved. It's okay if you have a couple of hours to kill but I wouldn't pay for it again. Would rather pay more and eat more.

Exactly what we were looking for. Found some great spots we definitely want to go back to over the summer. Perfect amount of walking and food.

My husband and I enjoyed this walking tour of Belltown last Friday. It was my husband's birthday, and I wanted to do something special. This was perfect. The food was unique and exceptional. Steve was a great tour guide! We highly recommend this tour! The Carlsons, Scottsdale, AZ

This "tour" is a MUST-DO. Great afternoon.

The tour began with a lovely tea-tasting. Then our small group headed up into the market, and our guide told us the history and background of Seattle and the market. She was informative and funny. We walked throughout the entire market, stopping for tastings. We had crumpets with honey and butter (YUM!!!), cheese, smoked salmon (there are no words to describe how delicious the salmon was), salami, chowder, gelato. We ended at the Pink Door restaurant, where we shared an antipasto plate so huge that we couldn't finish it. I recommend this tour to any first-time visitor to Seattle. I spent the rest of the day, before and after, wandering the market, and this tour was the highlight of the day.

Guide was very knowledgeable and eager to share with our small group (4). Very well prepared..all food vendors were ready for us, and knew their product. Several places were definitely in the category of "must return". Definetly a side of Seattle that we would not have found on our own.

Penny, our tour guide, was upbeat, informative, personal and likeable. The food was delicious and just the right amount. I appreciated the history and funny stories that she used. Time well spent. I especially enjoyed the Tea Shop where we tasted many different types of tea. And the smoked salmon, the gelatto, the list goes on and on. Thanks for offering this tour. Peace, Twila

My husband and I have taken 2 previous food tours (Boston and New Orleans), and after our Belltown Restaurant tour, we agree that this tour was by far the very BEST of the three tours! The best historical perspective, the best stops, the best food samples! Take this tour at the very beginning of your visit to Seattle, as we did. Our group of 4 people were impressed by the wide variety and high quality of restaurants we visited. We later ate at three of the restaurants included or recommended on this tour and were not disappointed. Our tour guide was really knowledgeable, personable and you could easily tell that he loves great food. We highly recommend this tour! to anyone who loves to eat great food!!!

Food tour? not much food

Small portion and cheap food were served. Did not get the much out of those award winning chefs. Bad timing and foods were made ahead of time.

My husband and I composed the entire group for this tour. The guide, Penny, was informative and enthousiastic while presenting a history of Pike Street Market . We sampled delicious and interesting foods from many of the market"s producers and were introduced to many who talked about their specialties. This is a most worthwhile tour. It provided an intro to the market that we could not have gotten on our own.

Finding The Best of The Market
Sat, May 16  12:00 PM rghunter Male 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Individual
This is an enjoyable way to see the market, learn its history, and be introduced to some of the finest merchants. I visited on a very very busy day, but our group moved through the crowds easily, sampling and talking while we toured. The guide was really well-prepared and made the tour a memorable event.

Terrific Tour for Visitors or Locals
Fri, May 15  3:00 PM rghunter Male 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Individual
I was visiting Seattle for a long weekend and was, coincidentally, staying in Belltown. This tour was a perfect way to learn about the area from a local resident. Our tour guide, Michael, demonstrated a real passion for food and for the City of Seattle: well-informed, funny, and fun to tour with. Whether explaining individual restaurant's history, showing vintage photos of Belltown's past, or pointing out spots where famous grunge bands rehearsed and performed, our tour was entertaining and informative. The tour visited several restaurants, an outstanding bakery, and a wine bar, tasting and talking our way through them all. I would recommend this tour to anyone, tourist or Seattle resident.

Outstanding Tour.

Michael, our tour guide, did a superb job with this Belltown tour. It was a great mix of history, the Seattle food scene, restaurant visits, architecture, and great food and drink sampling. The tour also had a great personal touch. At each restaurant we learned about the owners, chefs and, in most cases, either the owner or chef greeted us. It was a great mix of establishments as well covering the entire food universe. Now I have some "must go to" restaurants on my next visit to Seattle. Another unexpected outcome from the tour was the opportunity to meet and talk with fellow tourists who, like ourselves, were there to learn and experience the best of Belltown. It made for an even more enjoyable tour as the congeniality of the group occurred almost instantly.

Seattle Walking Food Tour of Belltown & Pike Place
Sat, May 2  10:15 AM belencia Male 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
I recently took my 18 year old daughter to visit the beautiful UW campus. Our stay in Seattle was going to be short and we decided to take this tour on a Satrurday morning prior to our departure that same afternoon. We both loved it! Not only did it help us discover the real culinary dimension of Seattle (which we were shamefully unaware of), but it also was fun going from place to place trying great food and sharing comments with the group. Also, our guide was great.
