Outstanding Tour.

Michael, our tour guide, did a superb job with this Belltown tour. It was a great mix of history, the Seattle food scene, restaurant visits, architecture, and great food and drink sampling. The tour also had a great personal touch. At each restaurant we learned about the owners, chefs and, in most cases, either the owner or chef greeted us. It was a great mix of establishments as well covering the entire food universe. Now I have some "must go to" restaurants on my next visit to Seattle. Another unexpected outcome from the tour was the opportunity to meet and talk with fellow tourists who, like ourselves, were there to learn and experience the best of Belltown. It made for an even more enjoyable tour as the congeniality of the group occurred almost instantly.

I recently took my 18 year old daughter to visit the beautiful UW campus. Our stay in Seattle was going to be short and we decided to take this tour on a Satrurday morning prior to our departure that same afternoon. We both loved it! Not only did it help us discover the real culinary dimension of Seattle (which we were shamefully unaware of), but it also was fun going from place to place trying great food and sharing comments with the group. Also, our guide was great.

Knowledgeable and Professional Guides

Our guides were Steve and Heather. To be 100% truthful, every single place that we ate at in Seattle was a recommendation from them and every single place was worth it. If you are not one of those tourists that does the cliche things and enjoys going off the beaten path, these guys are perfect for you. These guys know the city and they are extremely helpful with that knowledge. An absolute pleasure to have been a part of their tour. It was actually Heather's first tour and she showed she would be a keeper. Next time I come to Seattle, (and there will most definitely be a next time) I will be sure to catch at least one of their tours. A most sincere thank you for the experience.

My daughter in law and I joined the Friday morning tour with Carol. We started at a lovely little bakery, and ate our way across an informative and fun two+ hours. My daughter in law is 27 and lives in Seattle, I am from Portland; yet we had never heard of many of these restaurants. We tasted many delicious sample, learned about Belltown and Pike's history, and got helpful reviews of many fine and diverse restaurants. I highly recommend this tour for anyone.

We have taken tours all over the states and all over Europe, and this ranks with the very best of them. Take it your first day in Seattle and you'll know where to eat for a month. What a great idea: local history, places to eat, and samples all along the way! Do it. You will not regret it.

Our guide was wonderful. There were 5 in the tour, the 2 of us from Southern Calif. and 3 folks from Seattle. The history of Belltown was very interesting. The places recommened were out of this world. I am now a fan of Tom Douglas, not knowing much about him prior to this tour, I am now a fan. The tastings on the tour were wonderful, from chocolates to clam chowder. We returned to 4 of the places and ate at all but one of Tom Douglas's places. A return to Seattle in the future is a must, if not for the beautiful area, but for the GREAT....FOOD. Txori, Serious Pie and Rose's Chocolate to name a few. A must tour for all foodies .... My wife and I really enjoyed this tour. The guide was very knowledgeable about the food in the area as well as some very good historical information about Belltown and Pikes Market. My only negative was it was hard to hear the guide at all times (downtown traffic and such). I know other tours use audio devices to allow for better hearing. This could be an additional feature at some point. Overall, the tour was very good and fun for us both.

I had a great time on the food tour. Carol is an excellent host and extremely knowledgeable about all types of food. She offered tips on how to combining certain restaurants by visiting one for happy hour and then dinner at another. It appears that she knows most of the restaurant owners and is highly respected for her role. The other thing Carol did such a great job in was explaining some of the history about Belltown and areas around the Pike Place Market. I didn't even mention all the food we sampled. They were all delicious but my favorite ones were the slider from Frontier and the clam chowder. Thank you again Carol!

Overall we liked the tour for the most part. A couple of details would have made it fantastic. The description of the tour was accurate, it was mostly outside. When we first met it was a cold and drizzly day, typical for early spring in Seattle. It would have helped to start indoors for the first 10 minutes because 1) The traffic is loud and you can't hear the history of Belltown at times, so that detracts from the experience 2) If we haven't been walking, we aren't really warmed up so standing still in the damp cold was not enjoyable. The hand warmers and bottled water were a nice touch, very thoughtful. The blonde tour guide was very beautiful, thought you wouldn't hear that in a review from a man in his early 30s did ya?! Once we got going and sampled some food things improved. I would say that the least impressive food stop was the Frontier BBQ, the pulled pork sliders were nothing special, the meat tasted like it was done in a crock pot and no smoky evidence that it was slow smoked. The sauce was good but I'd rather have some more of it. The tapas places looked yummy and we were glad to discover them, the sample was great! Overall it was a decent tour, overall value was fair, I felt it was a little on the expensive side. I think $35 would be a more fair price.

My husband and I left our 1 year old daughter at home while we went on this tour. We met up as planned outside the bakery and met our host/tour guide. It was such a rainy/cold day(go figure) and so we were comforted to know that we would be going in and out of cafes/restaurants let alone get to try tons of sampling around the area. We must have walked more than tasted anything and just listened to stories relevant to the area(belltown/pikesplace). It was interesting, the information she gave. I only wished that we sampled more things and had more time to get to know the history of where we went. Also, it was personally too over priced for the event, I would have charged at most 25.00 per person for what we experienced yet it was a great event.

Very useful detail on the type, history and insider information on many diverse restaurants and food oriented sites. City history was fun as well. Great guide. We returned to at least 3 locations (chocolate shop, fish market and "artisan" pizza restaurant) and were very happy with the results. This was in marked contrast to a similarly advertised food tour in San Francisco which had very little food and a guide unable to answer the most basic questions.

Great! - Though we were Late!!

In imperfect weather, we were able to experience (for us in a perfect way) a taste of Seattle. Melinda and I planned this break from our 6 children. We did NOT have much time to spend in Seattle. This venue was perfect for us to experience the highlights of great foods in the Belltown/Pike's market area. We arrived late, and wasted 30 minutes waiting at the third resteraunt for the group. But we thoroughly enjoyed our experience. No excuses for being late (we were 12 mins late), but we would have preferred to join the group at whichever resteraunt they were in. We had a GPS, so we could have easily found our group. However, we were guided to meet at the 3rd resteraunt, and waited there for 30 mins. But this is truly an experience we will always remember! Our guide, Carol, was well-informed and provided us with lots of information about the area and it's restaurants. The samples were generous and I was stuffed! I was fortunate to do the tour on a crisp sunny day and we had a small group so we were able to get a very personal tour. Go - you'll enjoy it immensely.
