Great overview of some local restaurants
Thu, Oct 1  3:00 PM tushah Female 30-39 Local Group of Friends
My husband and I (who have lived in Seattle 6+ years) signed up to take this tour with a friend who was visiting from Chicago. The reason we were motivated is because she wanted to try a bunch of different restaurants, and we wanted specifically to try some of the newer restaurants scheduled to be on the tour. We really enjoyed it; the food was really good, the company was great and the bit of history thrown in along the way from the guide was really interesting and worthwhile. It's a walking tour so you get to walk through downtown/belltown a bit which is nice (depending on the weather) and the amount of food/wine you get for the price is fair--you'd spend the same on a dinner at a nice restaurant with wine, etc. Try it! It was fun! You get to speak to a few of the chefs and learn what inspires them, where they get their produce, etc, and meet some nice out-of-towners!

We loved the variety of restaurants we visited and the assortment of food offered gave us a great teaser to want to come back. Great tour and would recommend to all my friends.

Great way to check out Belltown
Sat, Sep 26  3:00 PM sarahkimsey Female 30-39 Local Couple on a Date
This was our first weekend away from our toddler. We really enjoyed the tour, as we don't get out much and we felt like this was a way for us to experience some of what Belltown had to offer as tourists in our own area. We only live a short 30-40 minutes away, but never get to downtown, and now we know of several great places to take friends from out of town! Tthe amount of walking was perfect and leisurely. Steve was able to tell us about some of the history of that district and also about each of the history of the restaurants and their owners, which we found really interesting! We even lucked out and one of the chefs came out to talk with us about her experience on the nationwide tv show "Top Chef." We definitely recommend this to out-of-towners and also people like us, tourist in our own town! Completely worth the 50 bucks!

Penny was AWESOME, the event was not!
Sun, Sep 6  12:00 PM schroederjen Female 40-49 Local Individual
I thought our guide, Penny, was enthusiastic and informative and clearly LOVED her job. She was a good listener and obviously LOVES the market as much as I do (and more). The actual event was NOT at all what I expected and I believe it has do to the marketing of it, not the market itself. I can walk around and get FREE samples without paying $40+. PLEASE....a free chocolate at the end was the only thing I wouldn't be able to get on my own and that costs around $2.50. I thought we would be getting food that would fill us up as we toodled around (it IS called the LUNCH SAMPLER). I will not recommend this to any of my visitors or friends in the Puget Sound area. It's a BIG RIPOFF! Next time, I'll call Penny myself and meet her at the market for some fun.

Fantastically fun (and delicious) tour
Sat, Sep 5  12:00 PM ctakada Female 40-49 Local Group of Friends
Though we're local, we brought out of town guests on the Pike Market Sampler tour and loved it! Our tour guide (Heather) was fantastic, informative, fun and kept things moving in spite of the holiday crowds. I can't recommend it highly enough! She was great and the samples were delicious (and ended up to be filling too),

local loved the tour
Fri, Sep 4  3:00 PM msprice Female 60-69 Local Group of Friends
My friend and I, who are both locals, loved the tour. We were introduced to restaurants and bistros that we had never noticed before. We learned about restaurants aside from the ones we visited. Our guide provided us with the history of the area and we learned all about the Denny Regrade and he even had pictures. It was fun to be the only locals among a group of tourists and to view our city through their eyes.

I liked most of the things that we tasted and I wish that we had tasted some Piroshkies. I thought our tour guide was very personable and knowledgeable about the city and the places we visited. I would definitely recommend this tour to tourists and fellow Seattlites.

Discovered great finds at Pike Place Market
Sat, Aug 29  12:00 PM jcross967 Female 40-49 Local Group of Friends
I've been to Pike Place Market many times but since I was entertaining guests from out of town, I decided to take them on a food tour. Several of the places we went to were new to me and Heather did a fantastic job making it fun and interesting. Enjoyed all the samples very much (and so did my friends). It was a big hit!

Great for local residents too!
Wed, Aug 12  12:00 PM alohagyrl Female 30-39 Local Group of Friends
I was looking for an outing activity for my teenage goddaughter and me. Shamefully though a Seattle resident for over fifteen years, I don't frequent the Market as much as I should. It was a great way to spend a few hours - snacking, snapping pictures and soaking in more of our city's history. I now have a couple of more stops to make at the Market than I did before - Pike Place Chowder and The Pink Door. Our tour guide was very entertaining and really made it extra fabulous!

Great for locals and tourists alike
Fri, Jul 24  12:00 PM jsalenski Female 20-29 Local Other
My husband and I have lived in Seattle for 6 years and have made countless trips to Pike Place Market. When my in laws were in town visiting from out of state we decided that it would be fun to take the tour. We had looked at several tours of the market and decided on this one mainly because of the price. I was immediately pleased to find that our tour did not include the head sets and microphones that other tours included. We did not stick out like sore thumb! Our guide, Heather, was wonderful and made us feel like we were a member of her family. She gave us a lot of interesting history on the market and vendors. Being a local, I was pleased that there were only two stops along the tour that I had visited previously, the rest were new. It really opened my eyes to how many places there are to visit in the market. My favorite stop was the crumpet shop. The butter and honey melted in my mouth! The tour ends at the Pink Door which was a wonderful last stop since we had a large table and several plates of antipasto. We ended up buying several food items from the stops that we visited and were able to extend our tasting spee at home. I would recommend this tour to locals and tourists (both adults and kids)

Great way to explore local specialties
Sat, Jul 11  3:00 PM cmcanulty Female Unspecified Local Group of Friends
We are a group of Seattle locals--friends who get together for dinner every couple of months to socialize, experiment with new recipes and seasonal specialties, try out new restaurants, wines and cuisines. The Belltown tour is a great way to explore some of Seattle's best up-an-coming as well as established restaurants and get to know more of Seattle's very colorful history while you stroll. We have already been back to visit a couple of the places we visited on the tour. Branzino was my favorite stop and the Local Vine is a great place to wind down.

Fun, TASTEY, and learned a lot!!!!
Sat, Jul 11  3:00 PM elbryant Female 40-49 Local Family Without Children
This was a very fun thing to do and a great way to "sample" restaurants! The food was excellent, the guides were really passionate and knowledgeable, not only about food, chefs, and restaurants, but about Bell Town and it's history as well. We live on the East Side and weren't familiar with restaurants in Seattle. Now we have many wonderful places we feel confident about and look forward to going back to. We hear that there may be tours in other areas in the near future, and we will definitely take them!

Perfect restaurant choices, pace, and informative
Sat, Jul 11  3:00 PM jerrynumata Male 50-59 Local Couple on a Date
My wife and I had a wonderful time. The 2 guides were punctual and knowledgeable about the history of Belltown. They even had historical photos of the area, which I had never seen before, and clearly explained the Denny Regrade. The restaurants they chose were a nice blend of different cuisines. We have lived in the Puget Sound area for many years, but don't get to downtown Seattle much. This tour provided us with some restaurants that we will definitely visit the next time we are down there, instead of bee-lining back to the 'burbs. The quality of the food was superb. This tour is highly recommended!

Eat before going
Tue, Jul 7  12:00 PM eworsman Male 40-49 Local Couple on a Date
After reading some of the reviews it sounded like a person should bring their appetite. So we skipped breakfast. On our first stop the warning lights went off, 4 of us in a group, with 4 paper thin slices of salami and 4 paper thin slices of cheese. This would not have been a bad thing as the meat and cheese was very good. But the next stop, a single drop of aged vinegar was par with the rest of the "taste tour" (it truly was a taste). A sample of Sorbet, a half of trumpet, and finally the main course. A plate of antipasto salad split 5 ways. All of the food was quite good and myself and my wife went back to many of vendors and bought more. The information regarding the history was informative but both of us felt we were better off exploring the market on our own and feel that the tour should either provide a lunch or recommend eating before going on the tour. My recommendation; live dangerously, go to the market and walk around, read the signs and finally, eat what you want. BTW, the samples we received walking around around on our on were quite a bit more generous than those provided by the tour. Ed and Tammy

Excellant, Informative Tour
Sat, Jun 13  3:00 PM Kellyscott Female 50-59 Local Family With Children
Michael, was very informative regarding the history of Belltown. He also had a very good relationship with the restaurants and the chefs. It was a nice way to stroll thru Belltown at a slow pace and learn of other restaurants. The food was very good, I am recommending this to all my friends, neighbors and family, as a great way to spend time together. Nice gift for a birthday/anniversary
