Great overview with lots of assorted food
Tue, Sep 1  12:00 PM cmborris Female 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Individual
A terrific intro to Pike's Market. Our guide was pleasant although the word *tip* escaped into the conversation often. The food samplings were wonderful however fresh fruit layered onto clam chowder followed by more fruit, crumpets, cookies and smoked salmon was indigestion worse than the eruption on Mt. Helena. Suggest an order to the food selection or pocket antacids. Overall, a good experience.

A thoroughly enjoyable food tour

The guide, Michael, was worth the price of the tour. He is very knowledgeable and seems to know everyone at the places where we nibbled, drank or just stood out side of to receive information. The nibble choices were varied and delicious ,especially the flourless chocolate cake. There was plenty for a sweet tooth or a savoury tooth. Thank you. Now that I am home by friends can't believe how excited I have been describing a food tour ! PS. I can rave about the Pike Market tour as well. Do both of them !

Great food, wine & company

I really enjoyed this tour. It not only gives you a historic background of the Belltown area and Seattle in general, but you get to taste delicious food and wine along the way. Its a great way for tourists to taste the local cuisine and I imagine a good tour for locals or regular visitors to take also so they can go back to their favorite of the selected restaurants. For those travelling alone, the tour was a good way to meet and interact with others. Two thumbs up

Great Tour for First Day in Seattle

I had the pleasure of having a great tour leader named Penni. She loves to cook, eat and share her knowledge of Pike Place with you. There are so many delicious foods to try here and we got to sample quite a bit. They included chinese teas, salami and cheese made in WA, cinnamon mini doughnuts, dried apples (6 different varieties of apples) and cherries, gelato, cookies, beecher's cheese, smoked salmon, chocolate linguine, fresh/tree ripened peaches, strawberries, truffle oil, crumpets with honey , pike place chowder and on and on. After the tour, I had my bearings of where to buy and eat at the different food stands for the next fews days I had in Seattle.

It was really fun.The tour guide gave us a lot of information (thanks!). However, the portion of each food is just "tasting" size. I needed to trace some shops again to eat the lovely food more!!

We enjoyed the tour. Our guide was amazing and one of the most personal individuals I have met. She was very good with questions and spent extra time helping us understand the history as well tasting the wonderful food. Thanks so much for the great experience.

The tour began with a lovely tea-tasting. Then our small group headed up into the market, and our guide told us the history and background of Seattle and the market. She was informative and funny. We walked throughout the entire market, stopping for tastings. We had crumpets with honey and butter (YUM!!!), cheese, smoked salmon (there are no words to describe how delicious the salmon was), salami, chowder, gelato. We ended at the Pink Door restaurant, where we shared an antipasto plate so huge that we couldn't finish it. I recommend this tour to any first-time visitor to Seattle. I spent the rest of the day, before and after, wandering the market, and this tour was the highlight of the day.

Finding The Best of The Market
Sat, May 16  12:00 PM rghunter Male 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Individual
This is an enjoyable way to see the market, learn its history, and be introduced to some of the finest merchants. I visited on a very very busy day, but our group moved through the crowds easily, sampling and talking while we toured. The guide was really well-prepared and made the tour a memorable event.

Terrific Tour for Visitors or Locals
Fri, May 15  3:00 PM rghunter Male 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Individual
I was visiting Seattle for a long weekend and was, coincidentally, staying in Belltown. This tour was a perfect way to learn about the area from a local resident. Our tour guide, Michael, demonstrated a real passion for food and for the City of Seattle: well-informed, funny, and fun to tour with. Whether explaining individual restaurant's history, showing vintage photos of Belltown's past, or pointing out spots where famous grunge bands rehearsed and performed, our tour was entertaining and informative. The tour visited several restaurants, an outstanding bakery, and a wine bar, tasting and talking our way through them all. I would recommend this tour to anyone, tourist or Seattle resident.

Seattle Walking Food Tour of Belltown & Pike Place

Our guide was wonderful. There were 5 in the tour, the 2 of us from Southern Calif. and 3 folks from Seattle. The history of Belltown was very interesting. The places recommened were out of this world. I am now a fan of Tom Douglas, not knowing much about him prior to this tour, I am now a fan. The tastings on the tour were wonderful, from chocolates to clam chowder. We returned to 4 of the places and ate at all but one of Tom Douglas's places. A return to Seattle in the future is a must, if not for the beautiful area, but for the GREAT....FOOD. Txori, Serious Pie and Rose's Chocolate to name a few. A must tour for all foodies .... Wonderful Food Tour
Seattle Walking Food Tour of Belltown & Pike Place

I had a great time on the food tour. Carol is an excellent host and extremely knowledgeable about all types of food. She offered tips on how to combining certain restaurants by visiting one for happy hour and then dinner at another. It appears that she knows most of the restaurant owners and is highly respected for her role. The other thing Carol did such a great job in was explaining some of the history about Belltown and areas around the Pike Place Market. I didn't even mention all the food we sampled. They were all delicious but my favorite ones were the slider from Frontier and the clam chowder. Thank you again Carol!

Our guide, Carol, was well-informed and provided us with lots of information about the area and it's restaurants. The samples were generous and I was stuffed! I was fortunate to do the tour on a crisp sunny day and we had a small group so we were able to get a very personal tour. Go - you'll enjoy it immensely.

I thought it was a fantastic tour. The guide was knowledgeable and worked with the group to personalize the tour for us and our interests. We got to see a lot of really great restaurants that are not well known but should be. The food was amazing!
