| I thoroughly enjoyed our tour. Even though there was a slight snafu with the tour guide being sick and the crumpet shop being closed, the professionalism of the owner, Michael, shined through and provided us with a fantastic tour. One can tell that he loves food and loves to show people all about why he loves it. He clearly has taken the time and effort to seek out the best places in the market and he is not afraid to share why. I only wish that we had more time to explore, but our vacation time was limited. We will be back and if there is another tour, we will happily take it. | ||||||

| Wow! What a fun tour! This tour, as well as the Pike Market tour, were definately highlights of our time in Seattle. Michael was our tour guide. He was so much fun! He was very well informed and a great communicator. The 2 1/2 - 3 hours flew by so fast. The restaurants he took us to were some of his personal favorites and he personally knew the chefs. We sampled the best sushi, tapas, crab cake sliders, gourmet brownies from a special bakery and a to-die-for rabbit, mushroom, chard wonder, made by Ashley, a contestant on the Top Chef TV show. We had a "photo op" with Ashley as well as were just able to visit with her and ask her questions. We had a glass of wine there. We also went to a wine bar and had another glass of wine accompanied with truffle butter popcorn. Michael told us about a lot of the other restaurants we weren't able to go to, in case we wanted to try them another time. The tour is moderate walking but we were able to sit down at most places. Don't miss it! It's well worth the money and the time! Ned & Diane - Cambridge, IA | ||||||

| This tour was definately one of our Seattle highlights! We considered just seeing Pike Market on our own but decided to take the tour instead. This tour was well worth the money. Steve, our guide, was fun and very informative. He gave us just the right amount of history to make it interesting but not enough to make it boring. He took us to places we would have never found or gone to on our own. He took us to Pure Fish, and told us about his favorite fish monger (sp?) there as we ate a big sample of his favorite smoked salmon. We went to the "gum wall" in a back alley where thousands and thousands of of people stuck their already-chewed-gun on brick walls - VERY interesting!!!! :-) We'd have never found that on our own! It was a very fun thing to see. We sampled wonderful gelato, cheese & salami, best-of- the-best cookies, truffle popcorn, the best clam chowder in the world!, the only made- fresh-daily-crumpets (sp?) in the world! as well as enjoyed a wonderful antipasto plate at the Pink Door. I hope I didn't miss anything. The whole tour was great. Like I said, well worth the time and the money. Thank you, Steve! Ned & Diane - Cambridge, IA | ||||||

| We were in Seattle on business and only had a few hours of spare time the last day of our trip before heading back to DC. I already had a love of Pike Place and this made it all the more fantastic - everything we sampled was delicious. And you get some history along with it. EVERY tour in the US should offer food, that's the way to do it! :) | ||||||

Culinary Market Tour

| Our guide Penny was most knowledgable and articulate. I especially enjoyed her presentation of historical information on both Seattle & the market. I would have enjoyed more information on the food and cooking. For example, we tasted cheese curds but Penny didn't go into how the curds are made and how they are turned into various cheeses. We tasted the rosmarino salami but could have learned more about how it was made. More interesting choices might have been made; for example a Swedish pastry rather than a chocolate (uncrisp) croissant. A stop at the piroshky place, especially since we could see them made, would have been a nice addition. | ||||||

| It was a good mix of the sites to see, a history of Belltown as well as, of course, great dining establishments in the area with some samples. Very knowledgeable guide. | ||||||

| The tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. The food was good, but it would have been better if the samples were in a larger size. My group had to eat lunch afterwards. | ||||||

| I live local, my sister-in-law is from Seal Beach, CA and we both loved our tour. The combination of foods, the amount we received, the fun of the learning the history of the market with our tour guide, Heather ... all of it made us feel special, like we had the inside tract. Loved the Gelato stop. Have been back for clam chowder, the best ever! and went to The Pink Door for dinner that same evening. I would recommend this tour in a heart beat and have. | ||||||

| This tour is a lot of fun and would be good for locals looking for new places to eat or people who are staying here for a while. I loved learning the history of the city and the different businesses we went. The walk is not bad at all. Over all I would recomend this to anyone who is looking for something to do in Seattle. | ||||||

| The tour was short but very detailed. The guide knew the menu, the owners and the history of every place we visited - making the tour very full and informative. For wine lovers or new-comming Seattlites this tour is a great way to find the little cozy wine cellar you always wanted or the best four star to welcome you to the city! High school seniors or other soon to be graduates would love the tour as a way to find the best place to say 'so long' to their classes! There were a variety of eateries - ranging from fun and casual, to ethnic yummies, or black-tie only occasions. Samples are flavorfull and fit in to many diets - however bathroom stops are very limited so go when you can... | ||||||

| On a cloudy, cold, windy ( so typically Seattle) morning we were warmed and charmed as we walked the streets of Belltown and the Pike Street Market - by the end of the tour we were all talking and laughing with each other as we enjoyed many tidbits from the several restaurants and just wished we were staying there for a couple of weeks so that we could enjoy the many recommended eateries!! A super tour!!! | ||||||

| This was a highlight of the trip. The tour guide was really knowledgable about the area, the restaurants, the chefs and the neighborhoods we passed through. She was a true delight. The food was amazing!! A really nice mix of tastes and the samples were well proportioned. I highly recommend this particular food tour. Would suggest, if at all possible, to do this at the beginning of your visit so that you will have time to dine at the restaurants included on the tour during the remainder of your visit. | ||||||
