My husband and I went on a segway tour of Downtown Santa Barbara. It was so much fun! There was a hands-on training for the first half hour, which gave us both confidence. Then we had a great tour with an interesting tour guide. Segways are a lot of fun! They were easy to learn to ride. I would highly recommend both the segways and the Segway tour. |

This segway tour was a highlight of our anniversary getaway trip. We started out on the Old Santa Barbara Tour and ended up adding time to it so that we could go to the Mission. Our tour guide, Bill, was both personable and knowledeable and made every stop interesting. The segways themselves are a blast to ride on and make the tour all that more fun. Our orientation to them was thorough and left both of us feeling confident to ride them before we left on the tour. We plan to go back as soon as we can. It was that much fun! |

Imagine the sensation of running without exertion. Riding on a Segway is so different than anything I have ever experienced. It was easy to learn and we were zipping along in no time. The historical tour was very interesting and our guide was excellent. We enjoyed everything about our Segway experience and recommend it to anyone who wants to try something different. |

We got to Segway SB 15 minutes before the start time to take some pointers from "Bill" on how to ride. My son and I picked up on the tecnique of riding a Segway pretty fast (I'm 62 years old). Soon we were scooting around the premises before the beginning of our well-led tour (about 2 hours). Bill led the tour as well. We both had a great time seeing Santa Barbara from another perspective. We have already recommended the tour to family and friends. We'd do it again in a heartbeat!!!
Sincerely,

The tour started with individual training on the Segway i2, which my wife picked up quite rapidly (I already had an hour in St Petersburg, Florida the week before) and then we were off, gently at first, up State Street toward the old center of the town. Our guide was friendly, informative, and always polite to the pedestrians we passed - he had to remind one motorist that he shouldn't do a right on red right into us, we were in the bicycle lane with a green light-but perhaps that's how that gentleman treated cyclists too! Then off the main street and into the ancient center - on streets, through alleyways and at one point right through an indoor passageway! - the ease of control and ability to not annoy the walkers was great. The downtown parks, so well explained, history as well as botany, and a bit of "all-terrain" across the park. The 2 1/2 hours were over all too soon. A really fun way to see more of a town up close, without the problem of walking at the pace of the slowest in the group. Only downer - Segway Santa Barbara has an insurance policy that insists on helmets being worn. That needs to be changed to one where you can sign a waiver, as they have in Florida - the helmet was tougher and heavier than the ones used even for horse riding - uncomfortable, unnecessary (the Segway is so easy to control and stop) and intrusive. |

Our family of 4 took the Segway Santa Barbara tour in late August 2007. They have the latest Segways. The training was patient and simple; the Segway is pretty easy to use after about 15 minutes of instruction. Our trainer was Bill, who was very good. Our tour guide was Alfredo, who gave us a great short tour of Santa Barbara highlights, including the Court House, the Presidio and Keck Memorial Park. The tour was very safe and doing a tour on the Segway was more personal and involved than going on a tour bus. We enjoyed the Segway tour and recommend it.
