How cool is this!!

Going on this Segway tour was one of the best activities I have ever done. They are a little stange at first but after a few minutes you forget those first thoughts of falling and can ride in total comfort. The beach was great. My 16 y/o daughter and her friend absolutely loved this tour. There was a little bit of "tour guiding" but the trip is really all about the ride. The length of the tour was almost too long.

Good intro to the Segway

The training was fun. Being a local I was less into the scenery and more into the Segway. We went an average of about 4 or 5 mph which seemed to slow. I would like to have had a chance to play around a little to get to know the Segway a little more. A tour is a good way to keep beginners out of trouble but, it was a little boring. We followed each other around like ducklings (single file). I was glad we picked the beach and not the tour around town. I felt very comfortable on the Segway after a short while. We'll probably buy one or two Segways now. If we rent again we'll just take them out on our own without the tour.

Santa Barbara good location for Segway
The Self-Guided Sunset Special Segway Tour

Two hours goes by quickly, but there is plenty of time to view the wharf area and beaches. Instruction is detailed and complete. Many of the website pictures show Segway riders without helmets, even though you are required to wear a helmet for the rental period.

It was a great time

I was a little apprehensive about operating a Segway, thinking maybe I shouldn't do it; it could be dangerous but I really wanted to experience the tour. I have seen other people touring around Santa Barbara and they all seemed to be having a wonderful time. We got excellent instructions and a great orientation. Jerry made sure we were all comfortable on how to handle the Segway before we hit the road. I was very much at ease by the time we headed out on our tour. Our guides were friendly and took good safety precautions both for us and the folks we passed by on the bike path and the road. It was a great time and I would highly recommend it to all who want a new adventure!

Butterfly Beach Tour

Great preparation with emphasis on feeling ready to go out. Lots of enthusiasm on the tour. She made sure we were confident. Beautiful beach and area where butterflies were. Tour included details about Stearn's Wharf, Chase Palm Park, the lagoon, SB in general. The tour was longer than we expected, and we were tired, but we would do it again--enthusiastically recommended!

THe people were very friendly, and everything was made really easy. The ride was awesome, even though halfway back my segeway ran out of batteries, I got to ride the tour guide's amped up one and ride back by ourselves. It was a great experience, something different and unique and i would definitely recommend it to my friends...

Excellent Time had by all

Trish was our leader and she did a wonderful job introducing us to how a Segway works. There were a total of six in our group (four from our family and two others) and she led us around S.B. We felt safe at all times. We were using the older model of the Segway (turning on the left handle) instead of the LeanStick. The two non-drivers (my 18 year old son and 16 year old daughter) felt that turning via the left-handle was very intuitive. The two drivers (my husband and I) had a little more trouble getting used to it. What was interesting was that all of us were exhausted after the tour. We were using muscles we don't usually use (not that the Segway tour was physically exhausing by any stretch) but we all ended up taking naps that afternoon. We are very intrigued with the Segway concept and are in the process of figuring out how to rationalize a purchase. In the meantime, I have promised my son's best friend that I will take him on a tour - I owe him a High School graduation present and the beach tour will be perfect. I highly recommend a Santa Barbara Segway tour as a gift idea. We did it for our son's 18th birthday and he is the envy of all his friends.

We enjoyed learning how to manuever on a segway and touring the sites of Santa Barbara. Cruising down State Street and zipping through a building were highlights. The tour guides were excellent with the segway training and knowledge of the area. We highly recommend this tour!

Seqways are fun. It's as simple as that. My wife and I drove up for the day from Los Angeles. We had never ridden one before and were able to pick it up extremely quickly thanks to the expert training. We took the Segways out just for an hour on our own (as opposed to a guided tour). We drove along the beach and it could not have been more beautiful. The renters and guides are extremely friendly and knowledgable. I'm sure the guided tours are great. We'll definitely do it again and probably bring friends and family.

Futuristic people movers on an historic glimpse

Imagine yourself moving around town without much effort. If you like to be on display, you'll certainly get the attention with the segway. We enjoyed the 3 hour tour of the Santa Barbara missions. The half hour training is a definite must, including the video instructions of do's and don'ts. The true test begins while you're on the road. We thought it was best to have the tour guide...it's much more fun and we got to really enjoy the sites. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and did a great job in training and building our confidence! J, R & E

Fun Intro to Segway and Santa Barbara
Thu, Nov 23, 06   10:00 AM dubnicki Male 50-59 Combination Family With Children
Our group consisted of adults and teens. All of us were very interested to try out a Segway, and many of us were new to Santa Barbara. The tour was a fun combination of finding out about Segways and Santa Barbara. We learned to ride in a few minutes, and improved our technique as we traveled along. The people we passed on the street were friendly and cooperative. The guide was knowledgeable with a few facts about everything he took us to see, but without overwhelming us with stuff we would instantly forget. Lots of places unknown to me (a Santa Barbara resident) were visited as well as the standard tourist spots. Everybody was very glad to have had the experience.

Segway is such a fun and exciting machine to ride on. Jerry, our tour guide was very humor and knowledgable of santa barbara history. I would definite recommend going on the segway tour. Only thing I would point out to Jerry is that, during the tour, we didn't really go through Historic Stearn's Wharf.

This was a really fun and educational thing to do! I'm a big fan of alternative transportation, and $40 was a good deal to learn a lot about how the Segways work, and be able to go anywhere I wanted for another hour. I did not realize that the balancing would take tai-chi-like concentration, but that turned out to be a good thing -- the ride was actually exercise!
