Very fun!

We had a great time. It takes alittle time to get the hang of it but our guide was very patient and we caught on pretty fast. A suggestion is you need to know how to ride a bicycle. For the balancing part. It's all about balancing on a SegWay. Alot of fun. We would do it again. Everyone was wonderful to us! Thanks again.

I've done this twice and enjoyed it both times. First with my husband and kids (19 & 27) and second with my girlfriends up for a visit from Atlanta. Everyone had a great time.

Fun and different way to see the RIchmond sites

I was trying to find a memorable activity to spend with my sister who was coming to visit me for a week. I surprised her with the Segway Richmond tour! She was so excited and so was I! We had Sarah as our tour guide, along with 3 others fun riders!. We were surprised how easy it was to learn to ride the Segway. A little practice, and away we went. We were able to maneuver our Segways through busy sidewalks and crossing roads. This was not a problem, and we are in our 50's!. We will remember this trip for a long time and I would highly recommend Segway of Richmond to anyone!

We enjoyed our tour of Richmond on the segways very much. Eventhough we live in Richmond we learned so much. Not to mention the segways were so much fun to ride.

Family fun on 2 wheels

We had a group of 7 from age 25 to 56 (me!). We all could handle the segwags without difficulty. They are, however, very powerful and will keep you on your toes. The machines are much smarter than the humans running them and are a blast. When you push them, they push back. Oh yea, the tour was fun and educational too. The guides did a great job of letting us run free but still kept us herded up as needed.

fun and educational

Riding the Segway was more fun than I expected, probably because it was a bit more challenging than I expected. Our guide was EXCELLENT - Jordan Pridgen is a wonderful guide. His wealth of knowledge and ability to communicate were exceptional for anyone, not to mention a college kid. He is a real asset to the program. We plan to do more tours and just hope all the guides are as great a Jordan.

Our Favorite Activity of the Week!
Thu, Jul 16  9:30 AM PamJones1280 Female 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
We were on vacation for a week. Every day we did fun outings - county fair, drive-in movie theater, fishing, swimming, museums. The segway tour was our favorite! We enjoyed seeing Richmond so completely, so quickly, and using a vehicle that was so much fun! Yes, we WILL do this again!

Our guide, Allison, arrived on time and was very knowledgeable about the sights and sounds of an old part of Richmond. We had a great time.

Great fun, but bad routing

The tour was a lot of fun, but for people who had never ridden on Segways before I think that starting from the Visitor's Center and rolling along crowded sidewalks in busy downtown might not be the best plan. You finish at Tredegar with big open lawns and wide empty paths to roll around on, but for the first hour it's sort of tense as you learn to handle the machine while trying not to run over any pedestrians. (Not all of who want to get out of your way, or get their toddlers out of your way.) After 20 minutes playing in the big open spaces of Tredegar we were much more confidant. If the tour started at Tredegar and went up hill into the city I think it would be more enjoyable then the way it now runs. Otherwise, lot's of fun.

Doesn't aggrivate knee problems
Mon, Jul 13  6:30 PM echrissikos Female 60-69 Local Family Without Children
Our group had a great time. I was concerned that I would not be able to endure the tour because I have knee problems and was one of the oldest in the group. I was surprised at the fun I had with little irritation to my knees. I did need to step off and rest my feet a little more towards the end of the tour. I am glad I practiced stepping off and on a few more times than necessary at the time of training. By the end of the tour, I was riding the Segway naturally so I am ready and eager for the next trip. Everyone wants to do it again!

Fun, Entertaining, Informative
Sun, Jul 12  9:30 AM JTBrown Male 50-59 Local Group of Friends
Jeff was our guide for this tour. His knowledge of history, fun facts, and his presentation was very entertaining. This was our first time on the Segway and Jeff really did a great job instructing us and taking time to let us get comfortable with the devices. As we got more confident, he allowed us a little freedom to explore. The Segway will undoubtedly always do its job so, in my opinion, the tour guide/instructor is what really makes the outing either a pleasurable experience or a nightmare. Fortunately for us, we had a very pleasurable experience. Our group was small (4 people) so it was a very relaxed tour and we enjoyed it beyond what I believe we expected. I would highly recommend this endeavor; it offers a bit of the 'unusal' as well as the history all wrpped up in a fun activity. We hope to do this again in the future.

A great City tour for everybody between 14 an 60
Tue, Jul 7  3:30 PM Computerkiki Male 50-59 International Tourist(s) Family With Children
We booked the tour via Internet and everything functioned well, even without a printout(my fault). The tour is lead by a city guide who knew a lot about american history. We originally came to Richmond to do a Segway tour but we got one of the best guided tours through history we ever got. Thank you. Driving with a Segway is a great fun and everybody can do it. The have only two limitations: - not under 40Kg - not under 14 years. It is really easy to learn. After a few secounds with a little bit unsafe feeling we experianced very fast that driving a Segway is easier than walking. After a minute I was slaloming around the poles and chasing my son (17). This will be for sure not our last Segway tour. VSH

Great way to see the city and take a Segway spin!
Tue, Jul 7  12:30 PM eswider Female 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Couple on a Date
I wanted to learn some local history, and my friend wanted to try out a Segway. This was the perfect way for both of us to have a blast! The Segways were easy to learn and were a lot of fun to drive. Touring via Segway allowed us to cover more of the city than we could have on foot. And being on the Segway between stops gave a us a perfect break between history lessons. Fun!
