Segways are also for "seniors!"

Having tried a Segway ride in Washington DC at night and LOVED it, I was determined to get my husband on a ride in Richmond. The opportunity came when a good friend visited from San Diego. The three of us are in our 60s and not exactly "jocks!" We had a fabulous time, even though it was very cold and windy. It is truly easy to learn, and our tour guide, Jeff, did a great job of teaching us. We'll definitely be back with other visitors and for other tours. Try it; you'll LOVE IT!!

A great time for all

Lots of concerns before taking the tour the least being that all of us would not be able to ride the Segway. You can imagine our surprise when 15 minutes later all of us...even the most unathletic, were riding well while cautiously. Then a few blocks later we all became "experts" and began enjoying the tour. Some of us had lived near Richmond and visited on a regular basis. We personally thought that we could provide an exciting tour ourselves without the need of the guide...but to our surprise we were wrong. Riding throughout the Capitol area we wondered in and out of spots that few tourists would or could see in the two hour tour.time limit...it would taken at least we week. The tour guide was full of interesting tidbits about the city as well as its historical significance. It was an exciting enjoyable two hours...

The Richmond Segway Tour was excellent. Our guide was prompt, friendly and courteous. She was patient in showing everyone how to use the Segway and conducted a very enjoyable tour. The fun of the tour was enjoying the Segway while having our guide point out interesting and historic sites in Richmond. The entire event was thoroughly enjoyable and we look forward to doing it again!

Doesn't aggrivate knee problems
Mon, Jul 13  6:30 PM echrissikos Female 60-69 Local Family Without Children
Our group had a great time. I was concerned that I would not be able to endure the tour because I have knee problems and was one of the oldest in the group. I was surprised at the fun I had with little irritation to my knees. I did need to step off and rest my feet a little more towards the end of the tour. I am glad I practiced stepping off and on a few more times than necessary at the time of training. By the end of the tour, I was riding the Segway naturally so I am ready and eager for the next trip. Everyone wants to do it again!

Enjoyable

Our tour guide taught us how to ride the Segway and was very gracious as we attempted to learn. He paced the tour nicely and was concerned about our comfort and safety. The length of the tour is just right and I think the price is fair. I loved getting around the city on the Segway and would recommend the tour. Our tour guide, while a nice young man, was not as well versed in Richmond history as I would have liked. There were a number of questions he could not answer. The question that stands out regarded a large statute of Henry Flood Byrd. We asked who Mr. Bird was. He did not know. Yet, I found out later that Mr. Byrd was a very important man in Virginia history.

Fabulous Fun Day for Capital One

Capital One provides a certain amount of money each quarter for teams to do something together outside of Capital One. This quarter my team in Collections chose the Historic Richmond Segway Tour. This Segway tour was by far the most fun Fun Day I have been on in my eight years at Capital One.

This is so much fun to do! It's one of the best ways to get around to some of the historic sites without having to walk up and down the hills. I'm looking forward to another area tour soon.

This tour was amazing. Would do another one. Guides were great and very helpful in trainning us on the segway. Would recommend this to everyone. If I can ride the segway, then anyone can.

Best way to tour historic Richmond in 2 hours!
Sat, Oct 3  2:00 PM mrutkowski Male 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Individual
I always enjoy visiting historic Richmond whenever I come to visit my daughter at UR but my recent Segway tour was probably the best 2-hour tour I have had to date. Our guides were extremely safety conscious, patient, enthusiastic and well informed about local history. Our brief tour covered many famous sites including the VA state capital but had some excellent lesser known stops such as the Museum of the Confederacy which I will return to visit. The on-line registration was easy but it’s best to CALL and confirm the actual departure site anyway. Mine was switched from the Richmond Visitor Center printed on my E-ticket to the Segway store on Cary Street. Also, consider adding the historic Jefferson Hotel to your tour route if time permits. Segway of Richmond is great – I like the way you roll! Jersey Mike
