SoHo and NoLita Shopping Tour

Enjoyed the range of stores we saw and the tour guide gave us other suggestions to continue with at another time.

Molly was our tour guide, she was funny, insightful and kind. She kept us moving and didn't hover over us. She was willing to modify her plan as the day progressed, moved folks along who were done with a store while keeping everyone in her radar and didn't lose anyone. She was patient and easy to talk to. Our meeting place could have been more obvious. The store was easy to find, yet until Molly appeared, no one knew exactly where to meet, inside? outside? what to do? It would be more friendly to have a sign, or some designation that we were in the correct spot. Molly wasn't at the store 15 mins early for the tour as the paperwork suggested that we all should arrive 15 mins early. Though she was an excellent tour guide anyway.

I am the actual buyer, not the goer. But this is the 2nd time I have sent a visiting friend on this Soho tour, so that she could shop til she dropped while I went about the mundane biz of working. So on her behalf: She loved the little shops they were brought to and found the guide to be great fun and a wealth of information. All in all, she said the time went fast and that it was very enjoyable. This is a great resource for me and I may just book again, for another friend. thanks shop gotham.

Our guide, Christina, was amazing and so full of enthusiasm! She added alot of "spice" to the tour, that made it fun and interesting. Now I can't wait to return to NYC and explore what I consider "my kind of shopping"!

Small group which was nice for us - took by 14 year old granddaughter. Would not suggest anyone younger for this tour. We had done a food tour last year with a great guide who was very knowledgable about NYC and it's history so was hoping this tour would have some of that. I was very happy that Sarah, former tour guide, accompanied this tour since she added the interesting annecdotes and history of the area. She also knew a great deal about designers and fashion. This in my opinion makes going with a tour better than just walking in and out of shops. I would encourage you to make sure your regular tour guides have some interesting info other than the names of the shops and how much time you have to spend in them.

Keve was an excellent guide. We had enough time to try on items and never felt pressured to buy. She took us to a good variety of shops and didn't waste our time on junk. I bought a couple things on the tour. Afterward, my daughter and I grabbed lunch at a pizza joint and spent a couple more hours shopping using the map and discount card Keve gave us.

We were really excited to go on the shopping trip - but oh, what a disappointment! Our guide was a charming, enthusiastic lady. The problem was that she kept taking us to these really weird second hand shops! She seemed to think that buying second hand "designer" was as good as the real thing! When we didn't buy anything, she almost seemed disappointed. We then went to various other "unique" shops which sold an assortment of various EXPENSIVE items. I felt that she didn't listen to what our requirements were and just kept taking us to these old little shops which in no way catered for the younger, teenage girls in the party. When we went off on our own ( and actually found the kind of shops we were hoping to find, we spent hundreds of dollars and had a ball!

I just took my niece (age 18) to the city for her first time and wanted to be able to have a shopping experience that was different from 5th Ave or 34th - we were met by Melody who was wonderful and informative - there were only 4 on our tour - I felt like she was very accommodating and tried to meet our needs - I think my niece would have preferred the garment district as she was truly bargain hunting (and not for brands) - I thought it was great - I would have loved to have seen more of Nolita which would be a little more my style but didn't know this until the end of the tour - Melody would have been happy to take us had I asked - she did point us in that direction with helpful hints - as a note we were with a mom and daughter team from the UK who really wanted the "American" shopping experience - something I was trying to avoid - fortunately for us they did not make this known until almost the end of the tour - I am not sure how the tour would have been accomplished if they had stated this from the beginning as we were not interested at all in something we can get at home in Texas - so be very specific when buying tickets and when you meet your guide -make sure you know what type of shops you are looking for and your day will be awesome!

I took my elderly mother on this tour. Unfortunately, there were teenage girls also on the tour so that we went to stores they would like. While we went to other stores, the prices were high and while the neighborhood is pretty and interesting, the tour was the low point of our weekend. I have been on the garment district shopping tour and loved it. This just wasn't for us.

Great tour guide that took us of off the beaten path to great stores throughout SoHo that we would never have found on our own. It was a mother daughter trip and my 14 year old loved it......Shopping was all over the board with a variety of high end/pop up stores, sample sales, etc. Loved every part of it!!!!
