Garment Center Insider Shopping Tour (For Women)

While I don't think anyone should do this event expecting to go home with a new wardrobe purchased at low prices, I do think nearly anyone would thoroughly enjoy it. You don't actually get an "insider's view" of the designing process and there's a very limited number of items from which to choose, with one place out of six being just purses, one being just scarves, and the others each being a very defined style with just a couple of racks of the prior seasons clothes to choose from, mostly at prices you could probably find last season's clothes on sale for at department stores. However, if you're not hoping for a new wardrobe, and just go for the unique experience, you'll have a great time. It was one of the highlights of our trip and, even though we didn't purchase as much as I'd expected we would, we'd go again. One word of caution - they don't warn you ahead of time, but many of the places either give a discount for cash or only accept cash, so if you're planning on buying, bring plenty of cash with you.

My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our tour. Great variety of shopping opportunities. We would go back again and will recommend to friends going to NYC.

My grown daughters and I went on a very rainy day but that didn't stop us from buying and shopping up the goods! Our tour guide, Melanie, was a delight and kept us moving! A must for any woman who loves to shop! We even got to pre-purchase Fall items!! So fun!!

The shopping tour was fun. Our guide "Jess" was very friendly and knowledgeable. She went out of her way to make sure everyone was having a good time. I have 2 comments: 1) I wish they would have told us our meeting place was one of the stops. When I arrived, I waited outside to meet with the group and never got a chance to go inside to shop in what looked like the worlds largest "notions" store. 2) The accessory store was a disappointment. Overall the tour was fun and I would do it again.

I loved it! Didn't know exactly what to expect but it was awesome! Had a great time. Loved the choice of designers and our guide was the best! Very friendly and knowledgeable. My mom and I plan to do this once a year!

Thoroughly enjoyed the tour. There was something for everyone in that we went to a handbag designer, jewellery designer, scarf designer and three clothing designers. Would highly recommend this as a great girls outing. Elly, our tour guide was knowledgeable and energetic. The pace allowed you enough time to shop at each location. I certainly didn't feel rushed.

I had a great time, met some fun new friends, and found some great buys. Sara, our guide, was very welcoming and professional. She kept our group on time and on track, rather like herding cats. I was impressed. I will take the shop Soho tour my next trip and will highly recommend you.

My 19 year old daughter and I went on this tour and had a blast. It was great meeting designers and shopping sample sale and bargain prices. We learned about the Garment District area, it's history, and had a fantastic tour guide. I highly recommend this to ladies interested in fashion and bargains!

Great tour and great guide. Visited six behind-the-scenes showrooms and scored some fabulous purchases! My daughters say that we must do this again the next time we travel to NYC!

Had a wonderful time shopping. The designers visited represented a broad cross-section of casual to business wear, with costume jewelry thrown in. The 3 hours just flew by, providing a great traipse around the garment district. And the prices.....outstanding!!!
