Great All Around Experience

I think its a bit hard to know what to expect before going on this program. For those reading reviews, here is the upshot. Your group will be taken into 6 showrooms where womens clothing and other items are sold to you at wholesale. It will be just your group, no one else. Prices are truly terrific and each showroom offered entirely different options. To be sure, each showroom will not likely be perfect for each person, but the variety seems to suit all types. You will walk from bulding to building - some right next to each other, others a couple of blocks - and each building is interesting in itself. Our guide was terrifically knowledgeable and charming and was there to give a thumbs up or down when needed. We met 2 of the actual designers in their showrooms and I think everyone especially enjoyed that opportunity. Personally, I bought 3 items, a handbag, coat and top and think most people made multiple purchases. Its a very very interesting experience and I will recommend this to others coming to NYC who like to shop and seek interesting experiences

Great for Teens and Adults

I went as the adult supervision for my 15 year old and ended up spending more money than she did! We both found treasures to take home that we would not find anywhere else and got to meet designers that have a fresh perspective on fashion. I thought the variety was great and the prices for this "high end" merchandise very reasonable. Our tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable and able to engage with all of our group.

Nice Experience

I attended the tour with my daughter. We had a nice morning. We particularly enjoyed the Eileen Fischer visit because it was more main stream buying. We would have like to have seen the possible sample sale merchants prior to the tour - some of them were too fancy/formal for us. The tour guide was wonderful 0 she advocated for each designer and was very knowledgeable about the area and willing to answer any questions. Thanks for a great time

Some good, some not so good

A delightful tour. Stops were good for the most part. Renee Dumas does not really cater or have items for older, larger women. Her prices, although a bargain, were still high. The Linda Richards stop should be replaced with something else. No one in our group was a bit interested in coats-very high end coats. We were also hoping for (another) jewelry stop-more funky, glitzy and fun for the younger girls. The hat shop was a bust for our group-that stopped should be eliminated. All in all, it was a good tour but not worth the cost that we paid.

I had never taken a tour of any kind alone, but while my husband was in meetings I thought this seemed an interesting thing to do while in NYC. We went to 5 showrooms and 1 sample sale, each offering completely different items. I was ready for some spending, thought the selections were absolutely fabulous and walked away with a jacket, pair of pants, costume jewelry, 2 very cute tops and even a coat.. all at wholesale prices. Showrooms for the most part are not terribly glamerous, but who cares. We met a couple of the designers and that made us appreciate the goods even more and furthered the experience. The guide was wonderful! and imparted lots of tidbits including who was at the Bryant Park shows that day so that we could try to "sneak a peek" after the tour. If it helps any readers, our group was comprised of women in their 30's and 40's and 2 teens, and there seemed to be good selections at most places for everyone. A NYC experience worth trying!

Good value for insider view on NYC fashion world

I took my 16 year old daughter, who is interested in in a career as a Fashion Designer. I thought the tour helped to give her to a more realistic glimse of what a career in fashion might look like. Even though the showrooms lacked the glits and glammer that she is use to seeing on TV, she really enjoyed it. We both found a few bargins. However, I don't feel that the savings offset the cost of the tour. Samples ranged from $20 (scarfs) to $300 (high end winter coats). Although our guide was adequate, I would have preferred a guide that had more knowledge of the fashion industry. Overall though, I thought that the tour was worth while and suited our needs.

We had a very diverse group which made it a little difficult because those who couldn't find something at one stop had to hang around and the people who were finding things had to rush to try them on or purchase them. There was enough variety in our stops that everyone on the tour found at least something to buy. So overall, I'd recommend this tour.
