This was so much fun. The tour guide was wonderful and the tour was exactly as billed. I have told friends and family alike that the next time they are in NYC that they have to take this tour. |

Myself and a friend thoroughly enjoyed our tour. Our guide Molly was cheerful and enthusiastic despite the rain, and thoughtfully stopped off at a store where those of us without umbrellas could buy one cheaply. It was fascinating seeing inside the garment centre and if we travel to New York again then we will certainly be booking another trip. |

I was overwhelmed with the thorough and professional manner of Mollie. She was completely charming, adorable and enthusiastic with our group and equally knowledgeable about the fashion business. Mollie brought us to sample sales that had amazing clothes and incredible prices - most importantly the sales were full of merchandise that was of great quality which meant great value. The best part of the tour was that there was something for everyone - whether you were young and wanted something a little daring and hip or older and wanted a little more conservative item. These were places that I would never have found on my own and I am so thankful for her guidance and mastery of the sample sale world...and hi to the ladies on my tour who were so much fun!! |

My friend and I were very glad that we took the tour. It was very interesting and entertaining. Marla did a great job of managing the group and keeping it interesting. |

Highly Do Not Recommend This Tour -- RIP OFF

Our tour guide, Marla, had NO fashion experience. We had 3 adults and 2 teenagers on the tour. Out of the 12 places listed we DID NOT go to all of them. One show room was closed. You saw selected "designer" names unrecognizable. The H&M, DAFFY's, and Felines Basement Discount Designer Store, which we went to outside of the tour, were great bargains with alot of designer merchandise. TJMaxx Store and Marshall's Store in NC have merchandise from known designers that put this tour to shame and you do not pay a "rip off" fee of $65 each. One showcase "Marla" took us to gave us a discount of only 2 to 3 dollars. The merchandise shown was of "poor" quality. On show room had only a small rack of approximately 30 items available to look at. Another bathing suit store sold unrecognizable name suits beginning at $100 and no one in our group purchased anything there. This was a waste of $65 per person and the tour was not even complete. I am very disappointed that your agency sold us a bill of goods. Our time in NYC was valuable and your "advertisement" made it sound to a teenager researching the internet you had access to purchase top names at 50-80% below retail. I am still waiting to see that merchandise. I bought nothing, my girlfriend bought nothing, and my 13 year old purchased 1 pair of shoes, a top and a dress which were no big deal. I guess when you spend 3 hours running in and out of buildings you puchase something for no real reason. The "tour" guide acted guilty that we were not impressed as we tried on not 1 single item. I would say "WARNING WARNING RIP OFF OF A TOUR". Save your $65 each and go shopping at all the glorious discount stores and vintage shops open to the public. When we booked this tour I asked for feedback from your company. I was told that only "6" people had responded with good remarks. I also asked if any of these so called sample sales were open to the public? I was told no they were not. This is false information. We saw "signs" at some places on the street announcing "sample sales". We stayed at the"Westin" Hotel. I showed the Hotel the information and they had never heard of your company or this tour. I will make sure it is not recommended at the hotel either. I am extremely disappointed and quite frankly feel a "refund" is in order. Again, we did not visit all the showrooms indicated by our not so knowledgeable tour guide. Most stores advertise "satisfaction guaranteed". Where do you stand behind this rip off tour????? FYI: My daughter purchased dresses valued at $450 for $50 at Daffy's Store. Great Place to Shop. She purchased designer Rock Port bluejeans valued at $200-$300 for $50 at Feline's Basement. Another great discount spot. Shop there my friends without any gimicks and a guarantee for your purchases. Brenda Morrison Charlotte, North Carolina |

Great Intro to NYC Garment District Sample Sales

We had a knowlegeable, well-organized, and fun tour guide. She did a great job of explaining how sample sales work in the garment district, which was helpful as everyone in our group were first-timers. We packed about as much into the 3 hours as was possible. The variety was interesting, in types and quality of garments and accessories, in price range, in venue, and in size of the sales.
The website suggestions were very helpful. Wear comfortable shoes, be prepared for the weather, eat before, tip your guide. Especially fun if you enjoy "the hunt" in shopping -- a very unique shopping experience!

This is the real New York. We didn't go to pretty stores on this tour, but the showrooms and sample sale places were the real thing. The deals were great. I bought a magnificent coat which is currently in the stores for 4 times the price. Lots of walking. We had a ball. |

Unfortunately our guide did not know where she was going, her apprentice was much more educated on the area. You will wish you had three hours of your life back to go into stores and take advantage of the sample sales fliers that folks hand you in front of the locations where they are. Fortunately our group was small, but the guide would have been wise to provide a time limit in the stores. We ended up in one junk store that was nothing more than a cheap "Target" with clothes that were ripped and damaged but VERY cheap $5.00 shirts etc. A lot of time spent there on purely JUNK! Totally a waste of time.
I believe this could be a good tour if it were tailored to something more worthwhile. I was sadly disappointed. Being a walking tour, we did have a lady that tripped on the sidewalk and fell. I was amazed to learn that New Yorkers are concerned and polite peope after all. Many men in suits stopped to help and showed genuine concern in their hectic lives. Traveling as a woman alone, I was concerned about if something occurred, would anyone stop and notice, or would I be the car alarm that goes off with no one taking notice. So all in all, I fell more in love with NYC, and I would highly recommend the other Zerve tours, but this one needs fine tuning. |

Great designer clothing and jewelry to buy for the ladies. A complete bore for the men. If you're a male, you may want to skip this. However, my wife loved it. |

I liked the tour, it was fun, the guide was great.
Saying that - for me I would have loved to actually speak with the designers about their work and a little on their craft rather than just going there to shop.
I didn't realise it was all about the shopping - I thought it would be more about the fashion and an insiders view of the industry.
If you are after some good bargains I would definitely recommend this tour - if you are after insight and knowledge about the fashion industry find a different tour. |
