Garment Center Insider Shopping Tour (For Women)

I really enjoyed this tour and would recommend it to friends (in fact I already have). We went to a variety of locations and there was literally something for everyone!

I had a good time on this tour. Our guide was very friendly and took us to about seven or eight different showrooms. I'm a petite woman (size 0-2), so I was able to find a lot of samples that fit me. I even bought a Vera Wang evening gown for only $75.

The tour was good. The guide Cristy, I believe that was her name, was really good. She made it more fun than it was. I did not like the first stores, I think the tour should start backwards.

Molly was great! She was fun, knowledgeable. She kept the group together and focused so as to not waste time at one place. My only complaint was I wish I had another hour or so because there was so much to see at a few of the places. I was new to the city - having moved to NYC just a week prior - and wanted to get to know the area. The experience was wonderful, the deals were great. I loved being able to interact with the designers themselves. All my out-of-state friends are jealous. And in fact one is coming in September, so I'll be taking her on the tour and going again myself. And when my mom and sister-in-law come in June I am considering the private tour option. Is it possible to request Molly again?

Our guide Molly was fantastic. She gaves us history of the area as well as taking us to great locations for bargains.

Enjoyable and interesting tour if you like fashion & shopping!

I was a little skeptical about this tour, but took it because it was my daughter's trip, and she wanted to shop! I was very pleasantly surprised. We got some great bargains -- and I'm already wishing I had bought more! I don't know why New Yorkers have such a bad rap for being unfriendly -- because we met with great people in every showroom we entered. Our tourguide was knowledgeable and very helpful. We not only got our money's worth in the showrooms she took us to, but thoroughly enjoyed some of the other shopping opportunities she pointed out. She directed these fans of "Project Runway" to Mood, and we had a blast. She also offered us some great pointers which helped guide the rest of our visit. This was our first trip to New York -- and we're already planning the next one! Thanks "Shop Gotham" for a fun opportunity.

The group was too big and the tour guide spent much time ferrying half the group one place and the other half to another place. We spent lots of time waiting for each other. Selection was very limited in the mostly very small shops or areas of the warehouses. The tour guide was very nice and energetic, but did not provide much information about the area or the shops, maybe because the group was too large to gather together and hear her. I would not choose this tour again.

We enjoyed the tour immensely. We saw a number of places that we would not have seen on our own and got some great deals. The sample sales were awesome! We would suggest that the tour be about an hour longer and include a couple of more sample sales.. Many of these tours assume that you will go back on your own and shop. We find that we do not have the time to return on our own. Christina was a great guide and really knows her stuff.

I was very disappointed with this tour. Our tour had way too many people, it was almost double what I'd read as the maximum number of people per tour. As you might expect, many of us were waiting around for others to finish at each place. We were late starting, shops weren't ready for us, and we were late leaving each place. It just seemed very disorganized and contrary to what is on the web site, most places had small sizes only. Our guide was very enthusiastic and very nice but overall I would not recommend this tour.
