Garment Center Insider Shopping Tour (For Women)

Myself [ 54 ] , daughter [ 24 ] and daughter-in-law took the shopping tour in the garment district. After spending 4 days shopping, we were'nt very excited to go on a shopping tour! But what a successful trip it was! Our guide was awesome and had loads of information, including suggesting some places to go after in other areas. We went to six very different designer showrooms.which had a varied selection of products and each of us found lots of things. I would reccomend it.

There were 5 women in our group and 3 of the 5 (including me) are plus sized. There was nothing for us to shop for other than a small amount of jewellery and some heavy, fur trimmed coats. We were disappointed, because we were in New York to shop. The designers need to realize there's a whole untapped market out there of plus sized women. We're not all size 2. The tour guide (I believe her name was Molly) was wonderful. A very pleasant, easy-going and understanding young lady.

The tour was really fantastic! You get to meet the designers while you shop, and that was even more spectacular to me than the shopping (which was great as well). The tour guide was so nice, informative and was obviously well liked by everyone our group visited. I would defiantly go on this tour again, because it's never the same twice. Thanks for a great time!

My sister and myself tried to do the garment district and samples sales on our own a year ago and were very disappointed. We had Marla take us to places we would have never known about before and she also gave us information on the history of the district as we went from one designers showroom to another. We bought and found more than we had bargained for! Even if you only going to look this tour is worth going on, I will be going on it on my next trip to New York for sure.

Tour guide was really good and enjoyed all the places we attended. would love to do this again.

Christine was very good, lots of information of the area and the industry. We had our daughters (ages in mid to late 30's) with us but felt there was not as much interest for them. Another tour might have been more suitable for them.

The garment district tour provided an interesting insider look at the fashion industry and the guide was full of info on what goes in behind the scenes. There are some great deals to be had if you are the right size, be prepared to try a lot of stuff on because many samples aren't sized. Bring cash because while there are plenty of deals, there are high-end show rooms on the tour as well and great quality items though 1/4 of the price are still several hundred dollars. One draw back - the sale we were most looking forward to had a line around the block and therefore our tour skipped over it and no other accessories (shoes, handbags) were to be had in the other show rooms - quite disappointing. Overall still worth it if you are intersted in fashion and getting pieces no one else has.

We were given oppurtunities to visit design showrooms and purchase directly from them, something that is not available to the public. It was a lot of fun, and our guide was not only knowledgable about the showrooms we were visiting, she also pointed out the sites as we were walking about. We had a great time.

I enjoyed this tour as it provided me with a lot of information about the fashion industry in New York City. It was a terrific way of beginning a shopping week-end with my daughter and if I had not taken the tour I would probably not have even considered browsing through the Garment District. Most of the designer warehouses that we visited had limited samples of clothes that were available for purchase and many of those were in small sizes but all in all there was something for everyone and our tour operator was so informative not only about this area but she provided us with an itinerary of shopping that we could explore on our own in other areas of the city. In addition if you are looking for fabric or accessory trims and buttons and things you definately should go to the Garment District.

The tours have been really great, I have seen places I wouldn,t have seen alone. The guides were friendly and sympathic. I will recommand the tours. Thanks
