A great couple of shopping hours in Soho

This is the second Shop Gotham tour I have taken. Having greatly enjoyed the Garment Center one, I thought the Soho was worth trying. And indeed it was! We scooted in and out of some really interesting shops, getting a taste of both high style & function.Store owners were so welcoming and I walked away with a couple of great items. The tour time goes very fast so as advised I used my discounts later on--that was a fun incentive to stick around. A last note to Shop Gotham: the group was very diverse and I commend the guide for expertly managing everyone.

Don't Waste Your Money, Do It Yourself

My wife and I had two days in New York City. We both love Project Runway and she recently graduated from fashion design school so since neither of us knew anything about where the best shops were we decided to have someone "in the know" show us around so we bought this tour hoping that we'd be shown some of those secret gems or small deginer boutiques you always hope to discover. When we started at DKNY and one of the members of our group asked to go to Anthropologie it felt like a tour through our local mall, not Soho. After DKNY we hit a place that sells interchangeable tops to flats and then a knick-knack store with the cheapest costume jewelry you'll ever find around the corner. After a stop at a candy store (yes, candy) and a place that sells very tiny cupcakes (yes, cupcakes) we were brought to one large German deginer's store full of off the rack gear that would have gotten you kicked off Project Runway. Our third legit clothing store was another boring disaster and at this point we saw another couple and a mother/daughter pair say goodbye to our tour guide so we decided to eat the $78 we spent and we left as well. My recomtmendation is to just have a cab driver drop you off at the corner of West Broadway and Prince Street and hen just WALK every street in a 5 block radius. We did that and got more done in the hour after we left the group than the hour with it. We went into Prada, Michael Kors, Dolce and Gabana and Armani one, right after another on our own and never got a whif of them while on this tour. It's really all there for you if you aren't lazy like us: just do the walking yourself up and down Prince and Spring Streets.

"Nature was not on our side, but this rainy yucky day was kept lively and jam packed with good stuff by an informed and very lively guide who so evidently targeted the stores to our group. I just relocated to the city and felt like a real New Yorker! Totally enjoyed the shopping selections and would recommend this tour to everyone."

I was travelling from Toronto with my sister & two nieces, ages 16 7 20.I have been to NYC many times, it was their first .Normally I would not take a tour but it sounded novel. Our guide Ennis was a lovely person & really tried her best but she didn't have the personality or the skills. Our group was larger than the 12 that the ad mentioned as a limit. this could have been handled better by someone more savy .Ennis needed to be better organized with time limits in stores & with direction. So much time was wasted waiting around ,very tedious,.. ennis had no control.Yes this wasn't supposed to be a boot camp, it just wasn;t any fun. I think the guide should take cues from the group & have some high energy or personality.Sadly this was not Ennis.

Good Tour for High priced stores

We enjoyed the shopping tour. It was nice to see these different areas; much quieter than downtown Manhatten. I must agree with others that most of the stores were high priced on this tour and they tried to fit in alot of stores so there wasn't much time to really buy anything. On the up side of this, we were given a list of the stores and the discount if any that they were offering and we could go back to the ones of our choice. All in all a good day.

Tour guide was extremely friendly and had lots of information to share. Enjoyed learning about different stores in the area as well as learning about local history and cultural information.

My girlfriend and I made our second trip to the Big City and had not really ventured to lower Manhattan. This is a great tour if you want to see some really fun unique little shops. The only problem with this tour was there were a couple of ladies who thought this was their personal shopping trip and held the tour up by trying on clothes at every store. Since the shopping is primarily in a small section of Soho/Nolitta there should have been a time limit in each store. There was a lot of waiting for people who were shopping, they really should have gone back after the tour to do the trying on and purchasing. At one point in time our group was in 3 different groups all because of a couple of people (the same ones at each store). I would definitely do it again but going into the tour would make sure there were time limits on each store.

We had such a great time on our shopping tour. Judy, our tour guide was amazing, so nice, very knowledgeable and patient with some of the slower shoppers. I highly recommend this trip. It was so nice and a great way to see a totally different section of New York. SoHo was beautiful. I will definitely return there again to shop. Actually, I may take this exact same tour again it was so fun. You get so much for the price! I highly recommend this tour!!!

My Mom and I went on the tour during our weekend trip and had a great time. We hadn't been to SoHo, so the tour gave us a chance to see what kind of unique stores are in the area. You don't have a lot of time to acutally shop so if you really want to spend some time in the stores you should plan on staying around once the tour finishes. They'll give you a map and a discount card that you can use for the rest of the day. I would definitely recommend this tour for groups of friends or Mother/Daughter combos.
