| Having read other reviews, I had high expectations of this tour. Firstly, Johanna - group leader- was late, as were several members of party. We were advised to arrive at 10.45am but we didn't start tour until 11.25am. I was surprised that the group was so large- 18 approx - little interaction between us. There was a family from out of state - Parents and 2 teenagers - mother and daughter from England, an extentended family from France including non English speakers, some friends of Johanna- our guide- and the rest of the group.
I felt that we spent too long in many shops- eg -" Mariebelle Chocolat "- a very small "top of the range" chocolate only shop. We could have all returned here later -if desired- instead of looking at chocolate bars for 20 minutes. The visit to "Rice to Riches" - a rice pudding bar was equally embarrasing - a 15 minute stop as we pretended to be interested in rice puddings - not really, Johanna!
As far as I remember, there were 5 other stops - all very near each other - 1. "Pearl River" - interesting -2. "So Good" - a great costume jewelry store - 3. "Zeba" - interior design - indifference expressed by most of group - 4." Find Outlet" - a very small shop with discounted prices but little of interest - more embarassment as we all walked out.
We visited"Anthropologie"- a big store which I had alredy heard of and finally we went to "Market NYC" where we saw some interesting accessories
The following day, I took a 3 hour food tour(Verve) and there was no comparison with value, information and time spent with guide.
I was certainly disappointed with shopping tour and felt short-changed - ie "give me my money back" - I spoke with several of the other shoppers afterwards and they were in total agreement!

| Our tour guide was excellent and really loved what she did, it showed. This is a tour to take especially in good walking weather. It gives you shops to consider returning to if you don't have time to shop while on tour. We were alloted about 15 minutes per shop which was just right, after all if you need more time you could always go back. The only disappointment was a stop at a speciality chocolate store the management did not honor the 5% discount and had a bit of an attitude. I would not visit there again, until they adjust their attitude and perhaps consider honoring the discount.
Over all a great tour and guide... do take the time to take it...... |

| My girlfriends and I had a fabulous time on our Shop Gotham tour. The guide took us to lots of cool stores. We never would have found such fun and trendy shops on our own. If we hadn’t had our Shop Gotham tour guide to point us in the right direction, we would have spent the afternoon wondering aimlessly around SoHo and NoLita. Also, we learned a bit about the history of the area while strolling from store to store. I highly recommend a Shop Gotham tour! |

| Shopping with ShopGotham was a great experience. I was brought to shops and boutiques that I would have never found on my own. I went into places I normally would have been too intimidated to go into. All the shops were very unique.
Our guide was great, she was well spoken and friendly. You could tell she enjoys what she does. I loved all the added facts she gave us about the SoHo and Lolita area. It was more that just a shopping tour, it was a great NYC experience.
The people on the tour were friendly. It was nice to shop with others. The guide gave us some helpful hints and facts before going into each shop which made each place more exciting.
I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone living in or visiting NYC. |

| My daughter and I took part in the SoHo and NoLita shopping tour while in NYC for her Sweet Sixteen birthday and it was the best thing we could have done! Even though it was rainy and chilly the tour guide kept our spirits up and introduced us to shopping areas we never would have had the opportunity to see otherwise. We saw an amazing amount of things on Saturday in two hours (obviously it wasn't enough time)...but we felt more than comfortable going back on our own Sunday and shopped til we dropped in all the great shops the tour had introduced us to! We would highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in seeing the real NYC! Thanks from Florida... |

| Not even the torrential rain could dampen our fun! An interesting mix of people on the tour. Lots of wonderful stops along the route. My favorites were So Good, Pearl River and Marie Belle.
I like to think that I know my way around SoHo but this tour introduced me to some new delights. Can't wait until next time. |

| I thoroughly enjoyed the tour. There were only three of us including the guide and she proved to be flexible and knowledgeable about the area. We were treated like old friends and would recommend this tour to anyone wanting to knwo more about Soho.

| I went on this Soho/Nolita shopping tour with my husband. The guide was great but the shopping venues were 100% female shops. Even though I was very happy, there was nothing for my husband to look at or buy. He supported me in my shopping however I wouldn't recommend this tour to a male. And since my husband and I do many outings together, there should be something for both of us.This tour would be greatly improved if it just added one or two male shopping venues. |

| This tour is a useful tool for anybody like myself - a foreigner living in New York. When friends and family visit in the future I shall be able to take them on far more interesting shopping trips than in the past. Our tour guide was friendly, knowledgable and in no rush. Two hours sprinting around as many stores as possible can be exhausting but this tour managed to cover enough ground without overdoing it.
One comment would be that there is no direct contact number given on the e-ticket. We were running late (our own fault and no slight on Shop Gotham) but as I panicked and tried desperately to contact somebody to apologise and assure that we were only a couple of blocks away I was only able to leave a message on a voice mail. A direct number may be an idea.
One minor complaint in an otherwise fantastic day. |
