This was a great tour. Loved it. Went to shops that we would not of found on our own

We liked our tour of SoHo & Nolita. The guide was excellent & very knowledgable about the area & took us to a variety of shops since the group size was a bit large, 10 & quite a varied group, from teenagers to high end shoppers. We liked to local shops, didn't go to box stores you can find anywhere. The craft market was reasonably priced products, higher end than the street vendors. It was a bit rushed & only had about 10 minutes in each shop, so you had to make decisions quickly or return. I think our guide was Jessie, loved her, she was able to provide some recommendations & directions for what we were looking for. A little more information about the shops on the map would be useful. Some restaurant recommendations would be helpful as well. We stayed afterwards & had lunch & did some more shopping to go back to a few places we didn't have enough time for. I'm sure we saw much more with the guide than if we had wandered around on our own. Local information about the area & stores provided makes it interesting. Thanks

This is a tour that every woman should try at least once while in NYC. While you can purchase a designers merchandise, you may get the chance to meet the designer. The designer we got to meet was offering suggestions on what she thought would fit an individual if they asked for advice.. The tour guide is very friendly and it's a great way to utilize your time if you've already seen the major attractions/sites in the city.

Loved this tour! You get to meet designers who supply high end stores in their show rooms where you would never usually have access. I'm not a size 4, so I wondered if I would be able to buy anything, but we went to showrooms that had purses, scarves and jewelry as well as clothing. Even if you don't buy a thing, the tour was a great way to get a taste of the fashion world's inner workings in NYC. The savings were incredible! I actually saw a purse at the Musuem of Art & design for $395 that was being sold for $125 on the tour. Our tour guide was excellent. She was friendly, informed and made us feel very comfortable. She even made dinner reservations for us at a wonderful restaurant for that evening! I absolutley recommend this experience!

This was a great experience. Our guide, Kate, was knowledgeable with a wonderful personality. I enjoyed meeting the designers, seeing their studios and listening to their insights on fashion and fashion design. There was a variety of women on this tour from around the world ranging in age from 20 to 50 which made this a truly unique experience. I would not only do this tour again but would highly recommend it.

When the first stop was such an average type store and we were to spend 15 minutes there, my heart sank. With all the gorgeous stores in Soho including a couple of French labels, I was surprised at the choice of the included shops. Certainly not a special or different enough selection. A couple of younger, cooler girls left before the end of the tour.

We went on the tour mostly to learn about the Garment District and how things are designed and produced. Since we are older women and larger than we should be :-( we didn't really expect to be making many purchases. The meeting place for the tour was an enormous store full of all kinds of trimmings, ribbon, buttons, beads etc. that was fascinating to me, as I do a lot of sewing, and don't have access to a fraction of the choices here. The first stop was to a handbag design and production showroom. We were both delighted to purchase a beautiful leather handbag each, at huge discount. Some of the women on the tour came away with more than one bag each, and were looking very happy! At a couple of other stops, we found high end costume jewelry and made more purchases there. At another, I found an adorable summer sundress for my young, beautiful and slim daughter-in-law. Even at the showrooms where we could not shop, it was enjoyable to admire the quality and craftmanship of the clothes on view. One showroom had outerwear made from beautiful furs and lovely soft cashmere fabrics. Our guide Keve was organized, knowledgeable and helpful, and let us know what to expect at each stop and how much time we would have. As we walked along she pointed out hastily handwritten signs in some wholesale windows, and explained that they meant that walk-in shoppers were welcome that day only, for special sample sales. At the end of the tour, she gave us a list of other places we could visit on that particular day that would be worthwhile. I only wished we had more time in New York, now that we had these new insider tips & suggestions. So yes, anyone who is interested in clothes and accessories would enjoy this fun and varied look at the garment industry in New York. And probably not come away empty handed!

Wonderful mix of designer, vintage and oh so loved Second Hand or previously loved. Thanks Ellie, you were sweet and provided tidbits of NYC history and facts. Your enthusiasm was contagious. We are still savouring our great finds. Our smaller group (4) was just perfect for moving around the hustle and bustle. Great deals. Would highly recommend this Soho/Nolita tour.

This tour was a great way to spend an afternoon with girlfriends. My group included a friend and our mothers and we all enjoyed it very much. The guide was very informative, relaxed, and fun. She covered not only cool shopping facts around the area but also about the neighborhoods themselves. The best part of the tour was that many of the boutiques and stores are on small side streets that a tourist like myself would probably not found alone. I would definitely recommend this tour as it was one of the highlight of our recent trip.

While I don't think anyone should do this event expecting to go home with a new wardrobe purchased at low prices, I do think nearly anyone would thoroughly enjoy it. You don't actually get an "insider's view" of the designing process and there's a very limited number of items from which to choose, with one place out of six being just purses, one being just scarves, and the others each being a very defined style with just a couple of racks of the prior seasons clothes to choose from, mostly at prices you could probably find last season's clothes on sale for at department stores. However, if you're not hoping for a new wardrobe, and just go for the unique experience, you'll have a great time. It was one of the highlights of our trip and, even though we didn't purchase as much as I'd expected we would, we'd go again. One word of caution - they don't warn you ahead of time, but many of the places either give a discount for cash or only accept cash, so if you're planning on buying, bring plenty of cash with you.

My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our tour. Great variety of shopping opportunities. We would go back again and will recommend to friends going to NYC.

Our group was made up of myself, my friend (celebrating our 60 yr birthdays) and my 28 year old daughter and her friend. Three other people made up the group. We all enjoyed the tour, I had booked for the four of us and everyone was happy with the outcome. We had a great afternoon. I believe our tour guide was Sarah. She was able to address all of our interests and they were varied. This tour was one of the highlights of our New York trip. We not only enjoyed some interesting shopping but also some great local information and history on the areas that we visited. Our guide was knowledgable and able to answer all of our questions. We were very comfortable with her and she was more than willing to spend extra time with us, we never felt rushed but moved along at a good pace. The whole experience was money well spent and I would recommend this to others.

Jess did an awesome job of introducing us to NYC boutique shopping. You get about 10 minutes in each store....just enough to get an idea if it's a place you want to go back to. But...you certainly get a taste for the variety of designers in the area. We covered a lot of ground in 2.5 hours.

My grown daughters and I went on a very rainy day but that didn't stop us from buying and shopping up the goods! Our tour guide, Melanie, was a delight and kept us moving! A must for any woman who loves to shop! We even got to pre-purchase Fall items!! So fun!!
