Great "Behind the Scenes" Experience
Fri, Nov 13  10:00 AM cbiskup Female 30-39 Domestic Tourist(s) Group of Friends
If you are curious to see what goes on behind closed doors in a designer's studio this is the tour for you. You get an inside look at where the clothes are designed and meet the designers in person. We visited about six different design studios, all with unique merchandise that is marketed to major retailers. If you enjoy uniquely designed clothing, jackets, jewelery etc. you will appreciate this tour. You are provided a unique opportunity that is not available to the public to purchase these items at wholesale cost. Our tour guide Christina was fun, friendly, and knowledgable not only about each designer, but also about NYC in general. She gave us great recommendations on where to eat, where to go out on a Friday night etc. We appreciated her help and thought she did a great job!

My daughter and I had a blast.

My daughter is 23 and we were in NY for a girls trip. I wanted to experience the garment district and go bargin shopping at sample sales. We had so much fun and while not every stop had clothing that we were interested in, about half of them did. We bought lots of great things and got a real sense of that part of town. Our guide was very helpful and did everything she could to make it a great experience.

Our tour guide was fun and informative about the area. We didn't complete the list but I don't see how you would in 2 hours unless you didn't shop. (which we all did) I went alone and felt comfortable with going to an area I didn't know with people I didn't know. I had lunch afterwards with a couple of the girls. I would highly recommend it.

Fun shopping/architectural history tour!
Fri, Oct 16  11:00 AM BevCallaghan Female 50-59 International Tourist(s) Individual
Our guide was fabulous! We learned about architecture in the area and we were escorted through a variety of different stores. We sampled chocolate from Vosges and we stared in awe at the designs in the Prada and Longchamps stores. We visited unique boutiques with one of a kind accessories and then stopped in at Topshop and Uniqlo. it was a great introduction to shopping in the area and we stayed on after the tour and went back to our favourite spots! Our guide was extremely well informed and eager to assist us with any and all questions.

Not that awesome!!

The tour wasn't as exciting as expected. The guide didn't seem to want the guests to stay long enough in each store to shop. We felt that we needed more time after the tour to revisit and do some more shopping. We would have rathered to catch a taxi to soho and shop on our own!

Girls Shopping Trip

I was not sure what to expect, but the tour was all that I hope it to be. The tour guide was knowledgeable and tailored the stores we svisited to the interests of the group. There were only 3 of us so that made it easy. We went to a mix of stores that gave us the feel for each neighborhood. We stayed just the right amount of time at each store. You should give yourself some time after the tour to go back to the stores that interest you.

Girls And The City!
Sat, Sep 19  11:00 AM Alicia67 Female 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Group of Friends
It was a "Girls" weekend in NYC and we wanted to see different areas of the City but not sure where we could find the best shopping and the best sites...I found the tour online and I have been on other Zerve tours before so I knew it would be FUN and they would not dissapoint! Our tour guide Christina was wonderful! It seemed as if we knew her forever and she was like "one of the girls" to us! She asked each of us what we would like to get out of the tour and she met all of our requests and expectations! We had such a great time and she also included little "extras" such as fun facts and Celebrity information as we walked past certain hot spots! She was really fun and took us to the best boutiques in the area! We saw all the beautiful areas of SOHO and it was so fun I want to bring my sister back in December so she can experience the same! If you want to visit the SOHO NoLita area and not sure where to start this is a great tour! Save some time in your schedule at the end of the tour so if you want to go back and spend extra time in some of your favorite boutiques you can do so. Take notes along the way of your favorite shops...The maps are easy to follow and you can back track your steps. There was so much to see and it was a great time! There was something for each one of us in my group of friends! We thoroughly enjoyed the trip! Had I tried to do this on my own I would have never known where to stop or know the history behind the boutiques and their designers...Christina was fabulous and Zerve... you have never let me down...Also just a side note on one of their other tours...the Sex and the City Tour is a hoot! If you love the show you will love the tour and you'll see a lot of NYC during the tour as well! Thank you Christina and Zerve for a wonderful time and I will definitely bring my sister and other girlfriends back to NYC and take the SOHO NoLita Tour again! Best Regards, Alicia

I had never taken a tour of any kind alone, but while my husband was in meetings I thought this seemed an interesting thing to do while in NYC. We went to 5 showrooms and 1 sample sale, each offering completely different items. I was ready for some spending, thought the selections were absolutely fabulous and walked away with a jacket, pair of pants, costume jewelry, 2 very cute tops and even a coat.. all at wholesale prices. Showrooms for the most part are not terribly glamerous, but who cares. We met a couple of the designers and that made us appreciate the goods even more and furthered the experience. The guide was wonderful! and imparted lots of tidbits including who was at the Bryant Park shows that day so that we could try to "sneak a peek" after the tour. If it helps any readers, our group was comprised of women in their 30's and 40's and 2 teens, and there seemed to be good selections at most places for everyone. A NYC experience worth trying!

Really great!

Highlight of my weekend in NYC. What you don't know in advance is that the guide seems to assess the group and then tailor the shopping. We were 8 persons that day - a nice size group -- and we covered alot of ground. The time flew by and I found it such a fun & interesting couple of hours. Good value for a NYC tour and I highly recommend. Thanks again, DB

Not worth the money!
Fri, Sep 11  11:00 AM awdaub Female 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Other
If it rains, this tour is not worth the money. Unfortunately, since you have to reserve ahead of time there is no way of knowing if it will rain. Most of the stores are high end prices. This is a look and see tour. You do not have time to purchase items. The advantage to this tour is if you have time to shop immediately afterward it might be worht it but then you have to remember where all the tores are located. Take good notes while shopping. Not very many discounts offered.

A great couple of shopping hours in Soho
Fri, Sep 11  11:00 AM MalaSukhman Female 40-49 Local Individual
This is the second Shop Gotham tour I have taken. Having greatly enjoyed the Garment Center one, I thought the Soho was worth trying. And indeed it was! We scooted in and out of some really interesting shops, getting a taste of both high style & function.Store owners were so welcoming and I walked away with a couple of great items. The tour time goes very fast so as advised I used my discounts later on--that was a fun incentive to stick around. A last note to Shop Gotham: the group was very diverse and I commend the guide for expertly managing everyone.

Enjoyable.

We enjoyed our tour with ShopGotham. Our guide, Christina, was more than helpful and enthusiastic and even gave us ideas of places to visit and other shops to find in the city for good buys/specific things we were looking for. I was expecting a bit more of a "tour" than what we encountered. For the most part, the 5 stops we made were to shop off-the- rack designer items which were a bit short on sizes and selection as well. We were actually thinking we would be taking a tour of at least one or two designer offices and work sites but that really wasn't included at any of the stops. That would have been a nice complement to the shopping excursions.

Don't Waste Your Money, Do It Yourself

My wife and I had two days in New York City. We both love Project Runway and she recently graduated from fashion design school so since neither of us knew anything about where the best shops were we decided to have someone "in the know" show us around so we bought this tour hoping that we'd be shown some of those secret gems or small deginer boutiques you always hope to discover. When we started at DKNY and one of the members of our group asked to go to Anthropologie it felt like a tour through our local mall, not Soho. After DKNY we hit a place that sells interchangeable tops to flats and then a knick-knack store with the cheapest costume jewelry you'll ever find around the corner. After a stop at a candy store (yes, candy) and a place that sells very tiny cupcakes (yes, cupcakes) we were brought to one large German deginer's store full of off the rack gear that would have gotten you kicked off Project Runway. Our third legit clothing store was another boring disaster and at this point we saw another couple and a mother/daughter pair say goodbye to our tour guide so we decided to eat the $78 we spent and we left as well. My recomtmendation is to just have a cab driver drop you off at the corner of West Broadway and Prince Street and hen just WALK every street in a 5 block radius. We did that and got more done in the hour after we left the group than the hour with it. We went into Prada, Michael Kors, Dolce and Gabana and Armani one, right after another on our own and never got a whif of them while on this tour. It's really all there for you if you aren't lazy like us: just do the walking yourself up and down Prince and Spring Streets.

"Nature was not on our side, but this rainy yucky day was kept lively and jam packed with good stuff by an informed and very lively guide who so evidently targeted the stores to our group. I just relocated to the city and felt like a real New Yorker! Totally enjoyed the shopping selections and would recommend this tour to everyone."

I was travelling from Toronto with my sister & two nieces, ages 16 7 20.I have been to NYC many times, it was their first .Normally I would not take a tour but it sounded novel. Our guide Ennis was a lovely person & really tried her best but she didn't have the personality or the skills. Our group was larger than the 12 that the ad mentioned as a limit. this could have been handled better by someone more savy .Ennis needed to be better organized with time limits in stores & with direction. So much time was wasted waiting around ,very tedious,.. ennis had no control.Yes this wasn't supposed to be a boot camp, it just wasn;t any fun. I think the guide should take cues from the group & have some high energy or personality.Sadly this was not Ennis.
