Nice Guide but tour was not worth the money Garment Center Insider Shopping Tour (For Women)

My tour guide was very nice and knew her stuff but I just don't think the amount of stops on the tour justifies the price. We only went to about 6 places. The paper that outlines the tour lists several places that we did not go to. When someone asked the guide why we did not go to theses stops she said they were places they recommended for us to go on our own time. I bought one shirt and some makeup and about half of the people on my tour left early because there was really nothing to buy at any of the places we went to and out the 6 that stayed most left empty handed. The guide said that these sales are hit and miss which I understand, however when all we found were overpriced broken clothing (some clothes still had pins in them because they were unfinished samples) and no variety I really think that the tour should have been extended and that we should have gone to the stops on the tour itinerary that we did not go to. If I had to do it all over knowing what I know now, I would not have paid more than $30 for the tour and I most probably would not recommend it to a friend.
Advertise as SoHo tour rather than shopping tour. SoHo and NoLita Shopping Tour

Consider changing focus of tour from shopping to tour of SoHo shops (& the area in which they are located). In particular telling what each shop/area specializes in as well as about the artists and companies providing providing support for the shops and items being sold. Providing more details on the history and architecture of the SoHo region would be interesting. Giving these types of information while we look at the shops will be particular inducement for us to go back after the tour since there is very little time to shop. The chocolate shop and the Young Designers shop were fun and well-timed stops.

A really unique experience--a fun and informative couple of hours. We not only enjoyed the guided tour of some of the best places to shop, but also the details of the neighborhood architecture and urban folklore. We would definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys a walking tour. The samples and giveaways were a pleasant surprise. The two guides were charming and very knowledgeable.

The tour was great. We have been to the city many times but never in Soho. It was nice to see a different part of they city with a native New Yorker. Our tour guide, Julie was great-she kept the tour moving at a good pace so we were able to see most of our points on our shop gotham map. We were a little late but Julie was great about it, she didn't get mad or have an attitude toward us because of that. By the way we got lost via subway. So give yourself some extra time to arrive at your meeting place. It was especially nice receiveing a goodie bag since SHAPE magazine was a sponsor. She also took us to a sample sale and showed us a place were students in design school sell their stuff. Julie also mentioned stores that she has personally been too that would be worth checking out. Now we have a good understanding of Soho and can't wait to go back and explore on our own additional shops & restaurants the next time we are in the city.

Three of us girls in the family spent the weekend in NYC. Going on the tour in Soho was a great way to get started shopping. Our tour guide gave us great information and we ended up finding some great deals and items in shops we wouldn't have otherwise entered. Thank you!

Adrienne was great! I wasn't sure what to expect other than the write up on the website, but I wasn't sure if that just propaganda...We were a group of five girls having a girl's weekend. We really enjoyed the shopping and the tour guide was very friendly and informative. It was like having a personal friend who knows the ropes. We were impressed with the "behind the scenes" look. I hadn't planned on buying any clothes, and ended up with some amazing deals that I couldn't pass up. If you are coming to NY to shop and are willing to spend a couple of hours letting someone else lead you, it is well worth the time and the price of the ticket. We were sad that we didn't have time to do more than the Garment Center tour. Thanks for everything, Adrienne.

I purchased a ticket to get a behind the scene's look into the Garment industry and I wasn't disappointed. Although the tour caters towards women and sample sales of women's clothing, there were sales for men's clothing as well. I highly recommend this tour to men and women alike.

Christina was our guide and she was an excellent source of information, both about shopping and the history of the neighborhood. There were 4 of us on the tour and Christina took the time to find out from each of us what we wanted to shop for on the tour. Did we want purses, shoes, dresses, etc. I thought this was great because she would tailor the tour to fit the needs of the group. She was very personable and I would recommend the tour to anyone considering a visit to the area. We covered a lot of ground in two hours, including Soho and Nolita, as well as walking past Little Italy! I found a fantastic new handbag from an up and coming designer and get compliments everyday on it. Thank you Christina for a great tour!

Marla did a fabulous job planning our tour! We had 4 mothers and 5 daughters! Throughout the tour, Marla managed to keep everyone happy- we went to stores that the moms loved, stores the 13 year old girls oohed and aahed over, and stores both groups loved! Plus, her knowledge of the area is fascinating. Marla puts together a tour that covers all the senses!- the smell of yummy NY pizza, the smooth taste of Aztec hot chocolate, the vibrant colors of Spring collections and the sounds of bustling NYC streets. And of course, we touched excellent bargains! I highly recommend this tour! Our group will remember it for a long time and are already planning a future trip to NYC!

Two daughters, a cousin and I were in NYC for a long weekend together. Decided to try your walk - have done lots of walks in London and Paris - and was very pleased. The guides were informative, adapative, interesting, fun, and enthusiastic. Have shoped the SoHo area on my own before, and never found all the great shops which you exposed us to. My daughters, who are obviously much younger, loved the variety, trendiness, and quality of all the stores. They are already planning more foreys into the streets of NYC and plan to take more of your walks. We'll watch your web site on the internet for new and interesting trips. Thanks!

My friends and I have done many fabulous tours through Zerve. The premise of this tour was great, however, the group felt that the guides could have provided more historical information regarding the areas as well as the stores. The beginning of the tour was a bit chaotic and should have been better organized. With a few improvements the tour would be just as good as the Chelsea Market and Greenwich Village tours.

Not helped by wet weather and variety of individuals. Not many venues were visited in 2 hours so was disappointing. Couple of venues ie artisan street vendors were not available due to rain. Tour guide was, I think, running out of ideas due to 'odd' assortment of individuals and was maybe expecting us to go into sample sale but none of us were comfortable with leaving our bags at the door so guide had probably more time on her hands than she expected.

Very charming young lady escort who took us round an eclectic range of shops in SoHo, giving us plenty of time to browse. She couldn't have tried harder to please us. As a regular visitor to NY (and one time resident), many of the big stores are obvious draws. However, since the 1960's the neighbourhoods have changed in character and having more than usual leisure in the City, a walking tour was a good opportunity to be reintroduced to that area. The weather was foul but no fault of Shop Gotham!

This was so much fun. The tour guide was wonderful and the tour was exactly as billed. I have told friends and family alike that the next time they are in NYC that they have to take this tour.
