I really enjoyed our tour guide, Hallie. She was very friendly and had some interesting facts to share about the area. The shopping was ok. I had hoped to find more that was actually affordable. I arranged this tour for my daughter and me as a part of her 16th birthday trip to New York. Although I am mostly a bargain shopper, I knew to expect few bargains in Soho and was prepared to splurge a little. Hallie told us where she got her outfit and that store was actually where we ended up spending money. There was not enough time to try anything on while on the tour and unfortuately, we ran out of time to go back to the stores we liked. Some of the shops were in the guide book I had bought for our trip to N.Y. so we might have been ok on our own.

We ordered the selfguided shopping list. It was a self guided shopping tour of the area. It started at our hotel as requested and gave us good directions to a list of shops our teenagers would enjoy. It was helpful to know what direction to go in and we found the route easy to follow. I would add a few other stores to the list however. The kids found them along the route and think the list should have included them.

The tour in no way reflected the description on the website. The guide seemed to have no plan except to wander haphazardly from store to store within a four square block area of Soho. Absolutely no "chat" about the area, the architecture, the boutique. And speaking of boutiques, I don't think Pearl River qualifies. She specifically said we would not be going to Nolita because it was too far away. Our guide seemed more interested in talking to the guides from other groups than talking to us. There must have been five guides congregated in Pearl River while their hapless tourists wandered aimlessly. We left early in disgust. Our short time in NYC was too valuable to waste on this tour. I will not recommend this tour to others. If anyone asks me about the tour, I will tell them it is a waste of time and money. I would like my money back.

The hours spent with Shop Gotham were very well spent. the "tour guides" were friendly and helpful; and did very well under pressure! It's not easy to keep ladies who want to shop under contral and happy! I enjoyed the group I was with (I was alone). And, we got some great shopping tps. I love the SoHo/Nolita area.

Christina, our guide, was very friendly and brimful of special places to take us. As well as visiting lots of little interesting shops (mainly clothes, jewelry, bags) which might have looked intimidating to the individual, she took us to a Chinese emporium and to China Town. She added in some fun anecdotes about the area and the people who live there.

Fabulous time with wonderful people...very highly recommended and great fun. We wouldn't have found such bargains or age appropriate shops without all the help from Halle....she was incredible. Marla did a super job of arranging our shopping tour for us.

we paid for the shopping list........we were coming to newyork for the first time to buy my wedding dress. we paid 100 dollars for nothing. they spent weeks emailing me for our sizes,our ages,what kind of dress i wanted and what else we were looking for so i exspected to get a great shopping list BUT NO IT WAS RUBBISH...... she gave me the address of davids bridal, rk bridal and macys did she think us irish live in a field and have never heard of these. her exact words were "go to macys but you wont buy anything there" and that from a lady who knew we were only going to be in newyork for 2 days. I emailed her a week before i left and asked if she could give me any info on sample sales and im still waiting. I emailed another company who gave me a list of sample sale NO CHARGE. At the end of the day you dont need a shopping list or a private shopper in new york , there are sample sales on every corner and millions of shops to choose from so save your money and buy a nice paris hilton bag instead it will only cost you half what i gave to shopgotham.......

I wish the tour could've shown us more out of the way shops; less mainstream. What we saw was great, but I feel we could have found them on our own. The upcoming designers' market was our favorite; we wanted more vendors like that.

I was very pleased with my experience as was my sister. I only get to New York occassionally on weekends and so my time there is always very limited. With this tour you get to go to several fun shops over the course of two hours. No pounding the pavement aimlessly wasting time looking for interesting shops. Our guide, Danielle, was friendly and professional. Besides taking us to the shops, she gave us some historical background on the Soho/Nolita area. Not every shop will be to each person's taste but I would say there's definitely something for everyone. I highly recommend this tour!

This is the real New York. We didn't go to pretty stores on this tour, but the showrooms and sample sale places were the real thing. The deals were great. I bought a magnificent coat which is currently in the stores for 4 times the price. Lots of walking. We had a ball.

Halle, our tour guide, was punctual, pleasant and very attentive to what we were interested in. She was extremely knowledgable of the various stores and shops and took us to what we were interested in. This is our second shopgotham tour. We took the Greenwich Village tour last year and LOVED it!!! Two thumbs up from the Castleman women.

Unfortunately our guide did not know where she was going, her apprentice was much more educated on the area. You will wish you had three hours of your life back to go into stores and take advantage of the sample sales fliers that folks hand you in front of the locations where they are. Fortunately our group was small, but the guide would have been wise to provide a time limit in the stores. We ended up in one junk store that was nothing more than a cheap "Target" with clothes that were ripped and damaged but VERY cheap $5.00 shirts etc. A lot of time spent there on purely JUNK! Totally a waste of time. I believe this could be a good tour if it were tailored to something more worthwhile. I was sadly disappointed. Being a walking tour, we did have a lady that tripped on the sidewalk and fell. I was amazed to learn that New Yorkers are concerned and polite peope after all. Many men in suits stopped to help and showed genuine concern in their hectic lives. Traveling as a woman alone, I was concerned about if something occurred, would anyone stop and notice, or would I be the car alarm that goes off with no one taking notice. So all in all, I fell more in love with NYC, and I would highly recommend the other Zerve tours, but this one needs fine tuning.

My niece and I are were not familar with New York City - so this service was great because we were able to go to specific stores and outlets that fit our shopping taste. Our guide, Halle, was knowledgeable and personable. My niece is 16, so shopping for clothes is trying as she is very particular about what she wears. I was impressed with how Halle was able to tune into my niece's clothing preferences and take us to stores that my niece just loved! Great experience, I recommend it to anyone that wants to shop New York but doesn't know where to go or how to move around the city.

My group was definately not looking for high end stores. There was 4 in our group two mothers and daughters. The closes thing we stopped at that had anything of interest was an asian jewelry store with a lot of imitation jewelry. ?So big? I think if you set up the tours according to interest it would be better. I was not there for myself. I came on this tour for my daughter age 22. She cannot afford most of the stores we were visited. She was hopping for funky, hip, discount stores. If we wanted high end we already know where 5th avenue is located. Disappointing!!!

There were three of us on this tour and we loved experiencing SoHo with Danielle leading the way. She was a great tour guide. Don't expect to stay at any stop longer than 10-15 minutes. You are just getting the highlights and the feel of SoHo shopping. After the tour, head back to your favorites. It would have been very helpful if the walking map you are given at the beginning of the tour included the location of the shops you are visiting. We spent over an hour trying to find one of the shops and finally gave up completely.
