My girlfriend and I booked a 12:30pm trip which was canceled due to choppy waters. They rescheduled us for 7:00 am the next day (nothing better than getting up at 5:45 while your on vacation). The water was not much better when we finally got out on the ocean. The boat is fairly small, and the swells were 10+ feet high, meaning that the boat was more or less like a roller coaster ride. By the time we actually got out to where we could see a whale, half the people on board were sea sick. It looked a lot like that pie eating contest scene in the movie "stand by me".
I know these guys can't be held responsible for the weather, but I think maybe they should stick to doing fishing trips with a boat that size. even under Ideal conditions, I can't recomend this. There are definately better ways to see a whale. |

The staff were great and we saw 2 whales!
It was very choppy and atleast 6 ppl were puking off the back of the boat. I felt like 2 hours would have been perfect since we saw a whale within the first 30 minutes. Also, the loud speaker was so loud that I couldn't understand what the announcer was saying unless I plugged my ears. I took anti-nausea pills and I wore the sea bracelets and still felt nauscious the whole time but never puked. I know that this is different for everyone but I wish I would've been more informed about taking anti-nausea pills before getting on the boat.
But, my partner loved it and did not get that nauseous.
Thank you! |

The staff was great but we didn't see any whales and it was really cold so my review may be slightly skewed. We did receive rain checks and I'd love to try and go again! |

No whales or any sea life, which is not your fault but maybe better disclosure of what to expect this time of year would help. Boat was too crowded-you could barely walk and there was not really room for everyone to sit or enough back rail space for everyone to throw up. I know you need to make money but a few less people would have made it a little better. It was very long considering the roughness of the sea. I think the captain was trying to find whales, but after 3 hours or so people just wanted to get off. The crew was nice. |

Over one half of the people including us got sea sick--desperately sick (vomiting over side of boat). If you were not sick, you got sick watching others. It was freezing, and despite the large number of sick people, the crew kept looking for whales making the nightmare last 4 hours. The boat should never have left the dock--admitted it was very rough on bay. |

My trip was cancelled 3 times and I didn't find out until 9 AM the morning of the trip. On the last trip I drove up from Los Angeles to meet my family and it got cancelled again. Right now I'm not very happy. |

We had a painless reservation and check in process. The boat felt safe, although not super comfortable, especially for so many people. (A bit hard on the body) We had an excellent crew. We had a fabulous time - we saw multiple gray whales and got in a pod of 200 dolphins! My 10 year old was thrilled!! Sunny day and calm seas - it couldn't have been a better experience. |

The Stagnaro crew was friendly, knowledgeable, welcoming and helpful. The naturalist on board (Maureen) was very experienced in marine wildlife and made certain each person on board got a chance to see everything well and discuss information about what we were seeing. We saw magnificent whales close up and were thrilled. Then, when the captain found a pod of dolphins nearby, he headed straight for them. Within minutes we were completely surrounded with what was one of the largest pods the naturalist had ever seen. There were hundreds (perhaps even a thousand) of adults and babies swimming, splashing and cavorting around us. We could hear them breathe and were sprayed by their sprays. Everyone was having such a great time that the captain stayed out much longer than planned. Thanks to the entire crew, this was an experience I'll remember for the rest of my life. We can't wait to go out again so we can see the different whales migrating down our coast. |

It was a beautiful day with all provided for as well as drinks and food cooked onboard. It took some time to find the Grey whales, but they found them. My daughter was surprised when one popped up right next to the boat as we were chasing one in front. On the way back we ran into a pod of common dolphins, about 300 or so, with babies and adults jumping and swimming all around us. It was a real treat for the kids to see them up close. |
