Whale Watching Trip on Monterey Bay

The information material about the different wales could be improved. The crew was informative and friendly.

We had the opportunity to see multiple types of dolphins, several hump back whales, sea lions, and sea otters. It was a very fun experience for our family. The captain and other staff were very informative and helpful in pointing out where to look and steering the boat accordingly. Great Trip

My sister's, niece and I purchased tickets, hoping to see whales....and that we did. It was amazing. We saw many Humpbacks and dolphins in their natural habitat. We were so far out, we couldn't even see land. I highly recommend this awesome experience and hope you are as lucky as we were.

I was a little skeptical of all the positive reviews before this cruise, but my skepticism was misplaced. The Velocity is a clean and well-maintained craft. Buying tickets in advance was a good move, as there was a long line when we arrived for our cruise. There is a snack bar if you don't want to pack a lunch. Dress in layers with a warm hat because it can be cool out on the water. Yes, we saw many whales. I think there were about 12 in all. Additionally, we saw sea otters and numerous dolphins. The crew made a genuine effort to search out the animals. As a result, the cruise lasted four hours--which was fine by us. It was worth the effort to take this cruise.

We had a great time with our kids (two sisters with four kids). However, on the FAQs it said that lifejackets (while not required) were available for children if we wanted. We could have brought life vests for our kids on our own, but didn't because the company said they were available. However, this is not the case. The boat DOES have life vests on board, but they are: 1. not easily accessible and 2. would not be something that is comfortable for a child to wear for 3 hours. While you never would hope to need a life jacket, I feel strongly that all children should be required to wear one at any time while boating. In the unlikely and unfortunate event that an adult went overboard they would hopefully be able to swim for a moment. However, if that happened to a child, the child would not really stand a chance. So it's a bit crazy to me that it would not be required and even more upsetting that they advertise that the life vests are available when in fact they are not. I strongly suggest that the company changes their policy.

We would definitely go again! We have already recommended Stagnaro's to family and friends. Staff was well-trained, very knowledgeable and considerate.

Everyone one the boat was friendly.helpful and informative. I learned so much in just those short hours, it was incredible. The trip was great, smooth and enjoyable.No one even got seasick :-) We saw Otters, briefly as they are VERY "shy" and Sea Lions sunbathing happily. As we got farther out we got to watch 3 different kinds of Dolphins all showing off a bit, and having fun.We then came across our beloved Humpbacks and they greeted us warmly . Then came the moment we'd all been waiting for, Blue Whales ahead... I was not prepared for what I saw... They are beautiful, breathtaking, and HUGE!! I'm still in awe 2 days later. I'm so very glad I made this trip and so very sorry it took me this long to do it. I recommend this to everyone, you won't be disappointed. Dress comfortably,wear slip proof shoes, dress with a layer or two, take a jacket and don't forget the camera and binocculars !! We took along a few sandwiches and cokes and were just fine, but they do have a galley you can also get items from if you wish. All in all I have to say it was one of the best days I will never forget. I plan on doing it again ......soon. I took my kids (my wife gets sea sick and stayed home) whale watching on 7/13/10. The crew gets very high marks for finding and giving us time to watch the marine life. The trip was scheduled for 3-4 hours and we used all four watching the animals (Blue and Humpback whales, otters, sea lions, and dolphins). I would have given a perfect score if the boat was a little less crowded - we had a full load. Great trip, good crew, comfortable boat. Recommended!

You've not lived till you've been sprayed by a humpback whale surfacing less than 10 feet from you.

Our boat took us to an area with a reputation of having a friendly whale. And boy did they ever! That humpback whale came right up to our boat and practically gave me a high-five. He was that close! Amazing
