Whale Watching Trip on Monterey Bay

Boat was clean, crew was friendly and helpful. Good explanation of what to expect. Excelent trip, beautiful day, POD OF WHATES!! 31/2 hours and lots of fun. Everyone seemed to be happy!!!

We enjoyed the 4-hour whale watching trip, but it may be too long for some youngsters. My main complaint was that there is not a seat for every ticket sold, so they are at a premium and we felt as if we could not get up or we would lose our seats to others who wanted to sit down. No one wants to stand up for four hours! That said, it was nice the boat slowed down for a large pod of porpoises and a few whales, telling lots of interesting facts about the mammals as pictures were taken. We got a close-up look at otters with their cute faces and moving flippers, and I even saw the odd shaped Sun Fish on the top of the water, basking. We never saw the whales except for their spouts but saw enough other marine life that it was worth the $45 price for 4 hours.

This trip lasted 41/2 hours but we only saw 2 whales come up for air twice and that was almost 4 hours into the trip. Unfortunately we ran into some fog which stopped us from going to where we would have normally seen the whales. We did see some dolphins and sea lions and a sea otter but overall I was disappointed as I wanted to see the whales. As it turned out, we just saw a glimpse of a small part of their back from a distance. Guys on the boat were friendly and helpful - I guess we were unlucky.

Captain and crew did everything to enjoy us by finding the big ones and he succeeded (unfortunately only on the very end of the trip). I'm definitive coming bac,.

It was really interesting to see whales that close. I would do it a second time, although i was a little bit seasick :) but i really enjoyed that triP!!

I enjoyed the whales and the staff was friendly. However, smoking was allowed on board, and our family did not enjoy smelling the tobacco nor seeing people drop cigarette butts into the ocean. I would not recommend the experience for a family with children for this reason; my child was upset with the two kinds of pollution.

I highly recommend this experience. We had calm seas and saw many whales. My only suggestion to Stagnaros is to invest in a better PA system. The driver of the boat was attempting to convey many interesting facts to the attendees, but the speakers were in such bad condition and the volume very loud to over come this defect that it became irritating instead of informative. Several of the children on the boat just covered their ears. Other than that it was a great adventure and fun and well worth the fee. We will be back.

The trip was nice and we did see the whales. The main thing that we missed was more commentaries, especially when we returned back and had time to get more information. When the whales are there, it is hard to concentrate on the comments, but when we return, it would be nice to have more comments & details on wildlife in the area. Thanks.

Very pleased I didn't feel seasick! Pretty cold despite several layers. Gloves recomended. Whales were rather elusive and not in playful or curious mood but exciting to catch glimpses.

was still cool, even though a little disappointing that we did not see any whales. We did see a ton of dolphins, some sea lions, and a baby and mama sea otter. Also, don't go when it is windy if you get motion sickness easily. I did not "feed the whales" as the deckhand said, but I felt kinda barfy most of the 4 hours. The crew were great, and deckhand DJ was super awesome! Very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions with a smile.
