A day on the bay to remember

| What a perfect way to introduce my four year old grandson to the wonders of the bay. If our children are to be the stewards of the Monterey Bay, introducing them to its inhabitants early on is imperative. We were fortunate to see six humpback whales during our adventure, within wonderful, close up, camera perfect distances thanks to our captain. We also discovered a whale that had become entangled with a crab pot, so our captain was able to notify a rescue team to help him. It felt like we were at the right place at the right time to help save him. Not only did we see whales, we saw California Sea Lions, and got close and personal to a group of baby sea lions. This day also brought Stellar Sea Lions to the Coast, which were not shy of having their pictures taken either. Be sure to dress in layers as suggested. When we started it was chilly, but by the time we started back the sun was out and layers started coming off. I felt that the captain went out of his way to find us the perfect place to see whales, moving the boat so that all on board could see. We travelled quite a ways from each whale so the ride back to Santa Cruz was long and relaxing. The staff was wonderfully prepared with books, pointing out birds and other wild life. They always offered a helping hand whenever needed. This has been my best whale watching tour ever. Thank you Stagnarios! | ||||||

| We took my mom on the whale watch trip Sunday morning May 4th. It was very nice to be on the boat. The captain and shipmate were very polite and accommodating. We saw a couple of Humpbacks which was great. We had a very fun day and enjoyed it very much. | ||||||

| We were pleasantly surprised. Purchasing the tickets was easy and the directions were easy to follow. The boat was very nice and clean. The crew was so knowledgeable and very helpful and nice. All the passengers were respectful of each other, except for one smoker who did actually ask if it was okay. We didn't know if we would see whales or not, but even if not, the boat ride was fun. However, we saw at least a dozen whales; swimming, spouting, tails and breaches. It was AMAZING! We will definitely go again and bring our family and we would definitely recommend this trip to our friends and coworkers. Thank you:-) | ||||||

| Crew was very knowledgeable and did everything they could to make for a very pleasant experience. We have deep sea fished with Stagnaro's ~10 years ago and had the same great experience. Highly reputable and highly recommended! Will book with again when opportunity comes up! | ||||||

| The whole expirience was laid back and relaxing. The captain and his deck hand knew alot about the bay and the creatures we saw. We were able to chase and see several whales, dolphins, sea otters, and the like. We are going to return and do this again with Stagnaros but this time we will bring our kids. | ||||||

| The company did a fantastic job rescheduling the trip due to weather and gave an array of option times to choose from. The crew gave an exceptional performance explaining the domestic wild sea life and local history bringing a flavor of personal knowledge and experience to the trip. It was to our fortune that there were sightings of the whale so close to the shores of Santa Cruz. There was ample time to see everything as noted on the brochure and weather to enjoy the sights. Thank you for the experience and will definitely recommend and hopefully go again soon. Again thanks. | ||||||

| I enjoyed this trip from the beginning to the end. Some folks had hard time getting over sea sick. It would have been nicer if the boat were larger. | ||||||

| Other than rough waters and getting sea sick it was a pleasant experience. I would recommend Stagnaros to friends. The crew was friendly and informative. I enjoyed the experience aside from the sea sickness. We didn't see as many whales as I would have liked but I understand the nature of the beast. It's a hit or miss type situation and I realize this. The price was within reason. The length of the trip was a little long but understandable being there wasn't much whale activity and we had to wait for the few we did see to show their backs, etc. All in all, a good experience. | Not knowing what to expect, we were pleasantly surprised at the efficiency, cleanliness and friendliness of the boat, staff and experience. We saw many whales, not as close up as we had hoped, but that is the luck of the draw. Our only recommendation would be - take your Dramamine! When we were stopped, the water was quite choppy. Other than that, it was a perfect outing. | ||||||

| The boat was too small. There were about 60 people on this small boat. No place to sit and relax. Extremely crowded. when a whale was spotted, there was not enough room for everyone to enjoy. I have been on whale watches before and the boats were accommodating for the amount of people. There was not even enough seating for everyone. The boat is deceiving..it looks big, but passengers cannot go on the upper deck so it is a lot smaller than it appears. I do not recommend this company for whale watching. | ||||||

| Unfortunately, we did not see any whales or other marine life except some sea lions on a buoy and a few otters. Although it was a beautiful day in Santa Cruz, the ocean was very very choppy with 20-30 mph winds. Even with dramamine all three of us felt sea sick. Overall, we were very disappointed. The staff was very nice and the skipper very knowledgeable and they gave out rain checks since we didn't see whales but we aren't sure we are ready to toss and turn in the cold wind for 3+ hrs. any time soon. | ||||||

| Very fun experience, but don't go on a windy day or you won't see any whales! However, they give you a rain check if you don't see anything. Bring Dramamine or you'll get nausea and may have to feed the fishies!!!! | ||||||
