The best whale watching ever. Due to the high level of krill in the Bay, we saw more than ten whales, with 5+ full breeches, numerous tail slaps, lunge feeds, and a Blue Whale checking us out from about 20 yards away. |

I used to work on whale watching boats in the Canary Islands and I have been on many other whale watching trips around the world, but the Monterey Bay is truly unique - an incredible number of whales pass through this Bay to feed and this trip was particularly special as I got to see my first ever Blue. Not just one, but about 6 of them! Absolutely incredible.
The experienced crew were very respectful of keeping a safe distance and you could tell they were just as excited as we were to see the incredible Blues and amazingly acrobatic Humpbacks. One whale couldn't stop showing off its skills with consistent breaches that brought it completely out of the water! Spinning, back-slapping, tail-slapping, chin-slapping... The amount of different behaviours we observed was insane.
Worth every penny - probably worth double actually! :) |

I went to see the Blue Whales because I've never seen one. We probably saw close to 10 of them! Also saw Humpbacks Lunge-feeding & Bubble-feeding, breaching, one that tail slapped 10 times, and more. The most amazing wildlife show that couldn't be beat-Wildlife at it's best! |

We love whale watching and we love Stagnaros. Do one use the other! We highly recommend this activity in general and Stagnaro's in particular. We go out regularly to see whales and while sometimes are better than others, especially this summer, its always spectacular. adn well worth it. Stagnaro's has a great strong reliable and sturdy boat, fabulous crew and captain (DJ and Ken...among others!) and a naturalist on board too, Maureen, who provides useful information (as do Ken and the crew). Make sure to bring layers, wear sturdy shoes and travel light--don't bring too much on board--- and if you tend towards sea-sickness--go out early in the day when the bay is generally smoother, and avail yourself of the dramamine that Stagnaro's kindly stocks on board. Right now (early-july 2012) the bay is full with blues and humpbacks. We will keep going back out.
I really appreciate how much all the Stagnaros crews shares a genuine and deep appreciation for all the creatures in the bay and that is infectious. |

The seas were rolling this day, but those who went were rewarded with blues, humpbacks-one dove under our boat-and fin whales. We were close enough to feel the spray from their blows at times. What magnifisent creatures!
The crew and naturalist aboard we're really knowledgable and informative. We had a blast! |

Fantastic day adventure in the bay. Great crew, good narration from both the captain and on board naturalist. Very warm and friendly, will definitely return next season. We saw many, many whales as there was a lot of activity due to the influx of krill in the bay. Highly recommend a day out on the Velocity. Great educational family fun. |

We were very lucky with the weather, bright sunny day, excellent viewing and we saw dozens of 3 species of whale, doing all their classic things, tails, lunges, sometimes two or more at a time.
Skipper knows the North Bay very well, got us to the whales very quickly, and kept us in the right spots for viewing.
Boat is clean, comfortable, reasonably stable, and kids enjoyed the food available. Enthusiastic naturalist kept us informed all the time.
Highly recommend |

I recommend whale-watching with Stagnaro's. They are organized, efficient, and enthusiastic. I learned a lot about whales from the commentary of the on-board naturalist and the captain, who provided great explanations about what we were seeing. The crew were mindful of safety, with plenty of warnings to hold on when we got into choppy water. It was great fun to spot whales and then get within a respectful distance from them. |

It was my first time Whale Watching and did not know what to expect. The crew was very courteous and friendly and the guide was knowledgeable and made sure everyone enjoyed the excursion. They knew just where to take us for the best viewing and the whales were very cooperative.
I highly recommend Stagnaro. |

Our daughter and her husband were visiting from Pennsylvania. They, my husband and I were absolutely thrilled when these huge mammals spouted and breached. All the passengers clung to the rails and excitedly pointed when they saw a breach. The captain was really on the ball pointing out where to look and telling us information about the kind of whales we were seeing and their habits. There was also a knowledgeable and pleasant docent helping us as she walked through the group. I was glad the ship had a large cabin into which we could come if we got cold and have a snack from the galley |

This was our second Velocity trip. Ken did a great job, as did the naturalist. We were very fortunate to again see a good number of whales. Great Trip. |
