Saw lots of whales....:) The cruise members were informative... Saw 2 different kind of whales.. Had a very good experience.

I recommend this trip to everybody. Seeing the whales, sea lions, jelly fishes is such an amazing and overwhelming experience. I suggest to bundle up cause it tends to be really cold in the ocean and take motion sickness med before the trip. It's a 4 hour trip so take your breakfast too.

I've been a local forever, but never took the time to do this - it's a MUST for everyone! (maybe not very young children, though). My (grown) kids and I had a great time even though it was a little rough and windy/cold out there - wear layers!!! We were in the bow where it felt like a roller coaster - fun for us! - but there was a lot of barfing going on in the stern - don't forget your Dramamine if you tend to get motion sick. The Humpbacks feeding so close are awesome - could have been a better day as far as variety, but what we saw was great - well worth the time & expense!!!

We went out on a Sunday afternoon on a very choppy ocean and saw about five whales. The crew was very knowledgeable and friendly. You could tell the crew enjoyed their jobs and that is a rare find nowadays!

the cabin where children can take a break from the cold wind was full of smoke and grease smell after the crew cooked meat and bacon there to sell lunch. my 5-year-old son got sick within a minute after he entered the cabin. one of the crew gave a very unfriendly look and scolded my son when he threw up.

Well planned professional trip with naturalist on board ... we had great views of the whales and apart from the cool weather it was all good. Wear warm clothes. This is highly recommended. Good value for money and shows Monterey Bay wildlife to its best.

Our group consisted of myself, my husband, my 26 year old daughter and my developmentally disabled 54 year old brother. We took the trip because my brother was visiting from Michigan. I was hopeful that we would see whales, but I know that sometimes it doesn't happen. We saw many whales, and even had one breach three times right next to the boat! It was truly amazing! I have been whale watching many times in Hawaii, and I was surprised how exciting the whale watching was right in my front yard! I would recommend the tour to anyone. Make sure you dress for the cold

Went out a ways (8-10 miles), then saw a cow/calf pair which we followed for a bit. They eventually breached for the boat at close range, which was a real treat. Whales were all around us, you could see 10-12 spouts off in the distance so they were in the right area. Staff was very knowledgeable and helpful and courteous, boat was not luxurious but we were there to see whales, not be pampered. My son was excited to see these beautiful creatures so close.

Boat was too crowded, not enough seating places for those who had children / or were sea sick. Safety procedures explained, but we couldn't hear them.

The trip was purchased as a birthday gift for my daughter and son-in-law. I did not go. They reported a great time and did see a number of whales. Unfortunately, it was a very cold day but they thoroughly enjoyed the trip and said they would recommend it to others.

We really had a treat on this trip, with close views of California grey whale mothers and babies and fairly close views of humpback whales, plus the wonderful experience of having the boat surrounded by dolphins cavorting alongside and filling the seas around us, and then later, in another location, having the same experience with orcas! Amazing! The captain and crew worked hard to give us the best sightings and to inform us about what we were seeing. We do think people should be aware that the trip can be quite bouncy, with lurches that can really throw you. The captain almost always let us know when he was going to turn and cause a big bucking of the boat, but it can still be hard to be prepared for the movement. We recently went on a whalewatching cruise in Hawaii in a very different sort of boat, a flat boat with a lot of space, as opposed to the more limited areas in this boat. We were fine with both trips, but an elderly relative who went with us in Hawaii would have had a hard time on this trip.

Just one of many exciting trips with Stagnaro Charter Boats. Today was awesome. We saw a Gray whale with her calf, hundreds of white sided dolphins, Hump Back whales that crossed our bow within 20 feet and a large pod of Orcas (killer whales)that appeared to be as curious about us as we were about them. Plenty of room inside, where it's warm and hot food, snacks and beverages are available for purchase, if you are reluctant to spend all of your trip outside. I love the bow rail, even on cold days, but the less windy area, at the stern, has benches and plenty of rail space to get a first look or take pictures. Excellent naturalist on board to explain, in detail, what you are observing and to answer your questions. Take your out of town visitors for a very special treat. I did and my guest said she would never forget this awesome experience.

Not a good day for whales. Nice staff. Got a rain check for 90 days which I can use but those from afar are not so lucky.
