The crew and captain were very nice, knowledgable. Friendly! We loved it from start to finish. Very nice boat, and we saw many whales!!! While it was a bit of rolling motion, it didn't bother us at all. Noticed some others got sick, and felt sorry for them. I also learned a lot about whales that day....great commentary. |

Our hosts had scouted the whales the day before so that we would see them. We not only got great views of Humpbacks and several types of dolphins, but the rare Blue Whales. I felt that the operators were sensitive to the needs of the ecosystem and the animals and plants in it. Well worth the cost. There was ample room on the boat for everyone to have a good view. Safety was excellent, and the crew was very nice. |

We had a great whale watching excursion. We were able to see sea otters, dophins and killer whales. The only thing that would have made it better would have been seeing hump back whales! The crew was courteous and knowledgable. |

The captain and crew were actively working throughout the trip to spot and follow whales and to ensure that we saw as much as possible from as close as possible.
They were very knowledgeable and provided interesting info about the marine wildlife in the Bay. |

This is one of the best activities we did as family this year. The weather was gorgeous, the ocean calm, visibility miles away. The condition can not be better for Whale watching. We had the pleasure to see displays of tens of douplins along the way. But the star of the day was the sighting of humpback whales. It was spectecular.
What makes the excursion pleasant is the crew members. They acted professionally and dilignetly. At one point we almost lost hope of sighting whales around after almost three hours of search. But the dedication and trained eyes of the crew members made the day. It was great experience to be able to get so close to this beautiful creature, seeing and hearing it spouts and dives on and on.
I highly recommend this excursion for all ages.
PS: make sure you equiped with high zoom high res camera . It is well worth it. |

We had low to medium expectations--wrong time of year and all -but thought it would be great for local sightseeing if the whales failed to show. But we didn't have time for that. The whales were all over and showing off! And the commentary was right on!! |

The staff were so nice and informative! We saw sea otters, dolphins, sea lions and a humpback whale on our trip. It was such a great experience! My family and I were so happy we decided to book the tour. We all took dramamine before the trip and definitely recommend doing so prior to boarding. |

The boat left punctually and all the crew were helpful and Informative. They gave plenty of time to observe the pod of grey whales found which were, of course, magnificent and humbling.
The boat was clean and comfortable although more outside seating would have been welcome.
Even on a calm day, a tablet of Dramamine is recommended to enjoy the trip without any unpleasant side effects |

I took my husband whale watching as a suprise Valentines day activity. He was so excited. What made it so awesome is the crew of the ship were so determined and patient while looking for the whales to see. When we did find three gerogeous grey whales, the crew was so respectful of the whales space and purpose. The crew was fun and knowledgable which added to our trip. Not to mention the views of the land, sky, and sea were spectacular. AND we saw whales breech 4 times: up and out of the water and spun all around, we saw fluke flips and watched them cruz gracefully on their journey. I dont think they would have felt as comfortable had the captain and crew not shown them such respct. We will be returning many times. SAVE THE WHALES!!!! |

I have recently moved to the bay area and had been wanting to do this. Since the cold, rainy season has been unseasonably warm and dry I decided to book it. That being said, I had no clue about the migration, or anything else, of the whales. I did not know what kind, if any whales, I would see. The crew on our boat, Velocity, was extremely informative about this. We followed a pod of 4 Gray whales for over an hour! We were told by our boat captain, Ken, that it was somewhat unusual for them to stay at the surface. He said they were feeding and that it was also unusual for them to be feeding on their trek south. While the whales were not very playful, they were truly enjoyable to watch. We were told the Humpback whales are more entertaining as far as jumping out of the water and showing their tails. Apparently you can see whales pretty much year round in Monterey Bay, but there are different kinds of whales at different times and of course they are more plentiful at different times as well. The friend I went with, and I, plan to watch the sighting report and as soon as they start seeing Humpbacks we are going again! Loved it! |

We had a great time on this trip. My teenaged daughter loved being out on the water, and my parents had a great time as well. We didn't see any whales until the tail end of the trip, but it was awesome when we finally did get to see them. Got some great pictures, and also enjoyed seeing a sea otter close up and some dolphins and sea lions leaping out of the water.
Our fellow passengers were nice. No small kids, mostly adults and a couple of teenagers. No problems at all in that regard.
I get motion sickness very easily, but I took Dramamine the morning of our trip and also wore a set a Seabands & I had no problems even though it was a little bouncy on the way back to the marina.
It was a cleary sunny day, but it gets fairly cold when the boat is moving fast and you're out on the open water. Make sure you've got a jacket or a warm hoodie. We'll be doing this again later in the year so that we can see the humpbacks! |

We not only found whales in their feeding ground--they found us. Humpbacks did complete roll-overs directly under the boat's hull while we all watched from the deck. The whale was so close, I could almost reach the fin that rested against the side of the hull. We were all sprayed by the whales' soundings, they were so close. We also watched a group of killer whales feeding together with the humpbacks, which we were told was quite rare. We spent almost an hour in the company of at least 8 humbacks and 4 or 5 killer whales.
It was a bit uncomfortable because it rained constantly for the 3.5 hours, and there were 14 seats in the cabin, while there were around 28 passengers, so many of us had little alternative to standing in the rain for extended periods. The whale visits made it all worth while. |
