Stagnaro Charter Boats

We were a mixed group of adults and school aged kids and I was a little concerned about us getting seasick, not knowing how far out we'd go. The crew was very professional and reviewed safety information, adding that they wouldn't take us out if conditions were not safe. We had a great ride, despite the wind and saw 2 blue whales and a humpback! A very memorable trip for all of us and we're glad we went! None of us got sick although a few other kids did on the choppy ride back. Again, the crew handled it admirably. Thanks Stagnaros!

We had such a good time as a family watching whales on this boat. the crew and staff made it their business to ensure we had a great time and we saw so many whlaes, seals and dolpins. I will never forget it.

Staff was well informed and made sure we got a good look at as much as possible. They were persistent in following a blue whale for all of us to get a good look at, which we did! I would highly recommend Stagnaros for whale watching.

My husband and I loved every minute of our trip. The staff is knowledgeable and trully concerned that everyone's expectations are fulfilled. They have a naturalist on board which was great. We followed 2 rare 80 foot blue whales as they fed in the harbor . It was exciting and humbling all at the same time. Dress warm and be ready to be patient, you will be rewarded with a once in a lifetime experience.

It was a wonderful experience. I can't believe I live in Santa Cruz and have never done this before. The crew was very knowledgeable about the whales and where we would find them. They were also very nice!

We had a great time. We saw so much and the staff were very friendly and informative. there were a lot of whales too.

We had so much fun as a family going out on Monterey Bay Whale Watching. We took our three kids all under the age of 12. We saw a blue whale and lots of humpbacks playing around in the bay. The kids loved it when the dolphins went bow riding with us in front of the boat. None of us got sick, but a good place if you are feeling a little nauseous is in the back with the fresh air on you.

We have to be thankful there are people like you ; whom are so enthusiastically involved in saving the oceans and the beautiful creatures that dwell within them. I highly recommend and thoroughly enjoyed the knowledgable staff; and the ambiance of the Velocity on the Sea. I will be bringing more friends soon. From the minute we headed out of harbor we had activity. starting with bow riding dolphins to amazing acrobatic humpback whales with calves too a unbelievable 110 ft blue whale. The action never stopped with the sea otters, sea lions, harbor seals, a sun fish, birds galore ... Fantastic trip worth many times more than the actual cost. Can't wait to be in the area again to see whats in store for the next amazing ocean trip. Thank you so very much to the Captain and his knowledgable staff for a trip a 7 yr old and her mom will ever be grateful.

I've lived here in the bay area (San Jose) my whole life and had never gone on a whale watching tour before so for my mom's 75th birthday I thought I would surprise her and spend some quality mother-daughter time doing something adventurous together that neither of us had ever done before. That being said, we had a fabulous time! The staff was so very friendly and so knowledgeable that we not only marveled at the things we saw but we learned interesting things we'd never known before. We were lucky to see many different sea creatures on our particular day. Before we had even left the harbor we were greeted by some very active bottlenose dolphins that swam right along with the boat, which was thrilling to see and a great way to start off the day. We also saw cute little sea otters and sea lions napping, but most exciting was seeing two humpback whales (a mother and her baby) who put on quite a show for us. It was truly thrilling to see them so up close in their own environment. In addition, a blue whale even (the largest mammal on the planet) made an appearance and from what we were told it's a rare occurence to find one so we felt very lucky that we did. It was a wonderful experience and something my mom and I will never forget. I was also very happy that nobody got seasick on our boat, which was something I'd read happens on these tours sometimes. We truly had a wonderful time and I can't say enough about how nice the staff was on the boat. They were wonderful! Thank you sooo much for helping me make my mother's 75th birthday so special and memorable!

It was a great adventure...probably "once in a lifetime" sighting of blue whales and humpback whales. The downside to the whole experience was the lack of respect for time management on the part of the ships crew. My family arrived VERY early as did many other whale watchers. Unfortunately the crew preparing the ship to sail was not as timely. I don't think any of them were late, they were just lazy when it came to leaving the dock on time. I guess we stayed out to sea past the time allowed and we had to "speed" back to the dock where the next tour was angerly awaiting our arrival. The ride back was very fast and furious. The only other complaint I have was too many people per tour. We could have done with about 10 less bodies on board the small vessel.

Each of the tour guides was extremely well informed and super-friendly. Everyone knew what they were doing. The guides went out of their way to find animals that we could watch and as a consequence we had the opportunity to see some animals very close up.

We went on the trip as something fun to do for a friend's birthday. We had no idea it would be such an amazing experience. We have been to Maui dozens of times to see the humpback whales, but have never seen so many - or seen them as close as we did that day in the Monterey Bay. One whale even hit the boat with its tail! We now have incredible pictures and memories. Thanks for such a great trip.

I'm not sure if we just lucked out on the day we went on the cruise, but it was great. We saw countless humpback whales breaching, feeding, swimming near the boat. It was like being in a real life Discovery Channel program!! The staff were great and gave great information on these wonderful creatures. It set the bar high for our next whale watching trip for sure!!!

We had the opportunity to see multiple types of dolphins, several hump back whales, sea lions, and sea otters. It was a very fun experience for our family. The captain and other staff were very informative and helpful in pointing out where to look and steering the boat accordingly. Great Trip
