| This was one of the most entertaining and fascinating nights of our lives! My husband and I both enjoyed the show from beginning to end and reccommend it highly. We have been talking about it for days and have already told many friends that they have to go see it too. The setting was perfect and we really belive that anyone would fine it so amazing and entertaining. | ||||||

| My only concern was that there was a female in the audience on the front row, that was so loud and intrusive that she made it uncomfortable for the audience. I think that Mr. Cohen should have shut her down. We paid the same $$$ as she did, but she made it not as enjoyable for the rest of us. A shame. | ||||||

| This show was such much fun I have recommended it to all of my friends. Its good for kids and adults! Get there early and sit directly in front of the magic. | ||||||

| I do like magic and found this tour whilst booking my New York trip for February 2007. The price is not too much and the Waldorf Towers Hotel is a luxurious place in which to hold the activity. Steve Cohen was enigmatic, very funny in parts and put 110% into the evening's performance. Also, there was audience participation and because there were only limited attendees, the ambience was just right. I found the evening to be too short, I could have stayed longer, an hour and a quarter does not do him justice and I am sure he has many more tricks up his sleeve, but overall, a lovely way to spend an evening in a classic setting, well worth the visit! | ||||||

| Cohen put on a good show. I liked the atmosphere of a limited amount of people in a room with a magician. Cohen did a good job of including everyone and offered quite a few "up-close" opportunities. The "brick in the hat" "kettle" and "word in a dictionary" illusions were my favorite. I am sure those are not the right names, but you'll know them if you see them. He did a great job. In my opinion, much of his show was based on probability and misdirection, which was good, but if you are expecting huge, elaborate illusions, stick to stage magic. He also threw in some "body magic" which he could have left out. I can rub my hands together at home (but, I can't stop my pulse) so I don't want to pay money to see that. I didn't care for the "please buy my stuff" bit toward the end of the show. He could have easily had an assistant take care of that before and after the show so Cohen would not look like he was trying to push his wares on the audience. Stayed at the Waldorf Astoria so I would be close to the show. It was ok, not too impressed. A bit over priced, but everything in NY is right? Definitely recommend overall, but if he took out the body magic and buy my stuff, it would go from four stars to five. | ||||||

| Show was great and kept you guessing and wondering how he could possible do all the tricks without someone catching on. Used most of the audience for participation so you knew there were no side deals before the show. Only recommendation would be adult only show with no children options even though the children present were very good. The request for cocktail dresses and jackets for men mostly was not complied with. Perhaps certain dates require dress restrictions. Some people enjoy an evening out and dressing and sitting next to people in jeans or tacky clothes does ruin the expirence. Fabulous show, would definately attend again. | ||||||

| I've seen Steve Cohen twice now, once on a corporate event and now at the Waldorf. If a fun night is what you're looking for, this is it. The tricks he does are amazing, and to see them up close is quite a treat. I would highly recommend a Friday night at the Waldorf... | ||||||

| Wow. This is one of the best New York shows I’ve seen. I was trying to get a good sampling of NYC culture, but also a taste of something off the beaten path. I had been to Broadway shows before. To me, seeing one Broadway show is the same as seeing another Broadway show. Too often they feel overgrown, stale, and self-obsessed. The real culture, the real cutting edge -I knew- was to be found in Off-Off Broadway theater. Steve Cohen’s magic show is one of the best New York City things to do. It is both vintage and fresh at the same time. His performance is strongly rooted in the tradition of parlor magicians, who were known for performing their wizardry in close-quarters, inches away from dumbfounded eyes. The show is held in one of the Waldorf’s beautiful, private suites, which –Mr. Cohen told the audience on the night I attended- had been home to Gen. MacArthur following WWII. No dark, dank performance theater here, Chamber Magic is an Off-Off-Broadway show that bucks the trend: a show (affordably!) awash in all the elegant magnificence of New York City chic. Perhaps the show’s ties to history, or simply its quiet refinement, are what –paradoxically- make it feel fresh and new. In this age of brash advertising, where Broadway shows are seared into your mind with neon gas and flashing lights, the word-of-mouth promotion of Mr. Cohen is a breath of fresh air. Only an illusionist of Mr. Cohen’s caliber can make the hustle and busy, the grit and the grime, and the noisy clamor of New York City streets instantly disappear. Do yourself a favor: look through the exaggerated hype of Broadway and see this unique Off-Off-Broadway show instead. | ||||||
