No mere sleight of hand here--Steve Cohen is a wizard and mentalist extraordinaire. My date was as wowed as my 13-year-old son, who even wanted to buy the book after the performance. A very fine and unusual evening. Bravo!

Our family went to the show ages 8 to 70 years old and it entertained, amazed and thrilled us all. We were still talking about the tricks and surprises on the drive home three days later. The whole experience, from the setting to the AMAZING magic, was a fabulous entertainment experience. Especially given the reasonableness of the price, this is a fabulous event to build around for a family or group evening out.

A very entertaining performance with many laughs. The limited number of spectators made it possible for everybody to see everything well, something that is a bit unusual for magic shows. The show is filled with magic and only magic and there is no intermission to slow down the pace. Everything went smoothly and there is a good contact and interaction with the audience. The female part of our company were appreciating that only the first and last trick were card tricks.

Chamber Magic is a gem of a show in a town filled with theater blockbusters. Steve Cohen treats you better than family in his well planned evening of mysteries. I wish he would do a evening length show of platform magic. Well, maybe someday. One warning, the staff at the Waldorf-Astoria invited my wife and I to wait in the lobby while the show was setting up. I was told they would come and get me when things were ready. They didn't. If I had not seen others heading for the elevator, I would have missed the start. I did miss getting a front row seat.

My children were 10 and 11 and were enthralled with the performance. The small size of the room and intimacy of the performance were really a huge part of its overall success, coupled of course with the amazing skills of Steve Cohen. Truly, this was an amazing event, and we are still talking about it.

The intimate setting and Steve Cohen's presentation, which had almost everyone in the room involved in the act, made this a very enjoyable and fun evening. I am not a big fan of magic shows but I liked this one.

The atmosphere was great except that some people were not dressed appropriately and there were too many children. The parents did not manage their children and it was annoying at times because they were making noise at inappropriate times. The show is aimed at adults and there should be no children under the age of 16 at the evening performances. Maybe an afternoon session could be added for children. Even with the above, we would highly recommend the show.

I went to Chamber Magic with my three kids (12 to 15), and we all loved the show. The setting adds a lot to the fun, because the performance is in a large sort of living room in a suite at the Waldorf, with about 40-50 people in the audience. In many of the tricks audience members participate, but no one is ever made to look foolish. The impact of the illusions is magnified considerably be being so close to the magician, Steve Cohen. Cohen is remarkably good, and even though he occasionally refers weirdly to himself as the "millionaires' magician" and his many performances at homes and parties of "high net-worth individuals," he seems a pleasant and entertaining personality. But the tricks are the best thing about the show, and they are truly amazing. Without spoiling anything, Cohen makes a hefty object appear under a small covering with the audience standing three feet away. He does an amazing thing with rings taken from the audience that seems to defy physics. But the two most amazing parts of the show were an inexplicable trick with an audience member's watch (combining impossible physical effect with apparent mind reading), and Cohen's ability to call out a word being looked at by an audience member in a book (the audience member's book!). Anyway, we all thought the show was utterly terrific and well worth seeing.

I loved the show. I enjoyed it so much that I purchased the book thinking there would be original thoughts presented. I got home and began to read the book. It was quite disappointing. I found it repetitive and elementary (other than the chapter on misdirection). The ideas presented in the book did not match the caliber of the magic presented in the show.
