A great outing for our work team

Our work team chose this walk-around and dining event over the typical trip to a restaurant together, and what a difference. Walking the streets with one another in a casual setting, listening to history and local culture together and sharing our impressions with one another -- so much better than the usual event of sitting around a too-large table in an uninteresting locale. Susan's deep knowledge of the area and her relationships with the local vendors and business owners were real assets and made us feel we were getting an "insiders" tour. I wish I had this opportunity in other cities I visit on business.

Had a great trip to the bronx. Lots of interesting samples of food and met many interesting local shop owners. Would definately go back independantly and re visit some of the restaurants and shops. Felt sad leaving Sue - we seem to have bonded quickly. Would highly recommend this tour.

Very interesting, but group size was too large.

We saw the tour in the N.Y.Times. Due to the publicity, the size of the group (24) was too large and there was too much down time. We had to wait for the whole group to fit into a store and probably a smaller group could have moved faster. The tour guide was warm and informative. My only complaint was the size of the group. Otherwise, Arthur Ave. is a great place to see.

My mother-in-law, child of two Italian immigrants, had lived in this neighborhood as a young child, back in the teens of the last century and we had wanted to visit at some point... doing it with Susan who is so knowledgeable and a great guide was a wonderful experience. And now we will be reporting it all to "nonna", age 98, who will be jealous that she was not able to experience again all the great tastes and smells.

We discovered an unusual corner of Italy in a borough depicted from most movie s, news and music like "a place to avoid to visit". Unforgettable real Italian food enjoyed during the visit. Pls note we are Italians living in Italy!!!

Arthur Avenue Walking tour is a Gem!!

This is a wonderful tour of an iconic Italian neighborhood known throughout the tri-state area and beyond. The walk along Arthur Avenue and adjoining side streets was a treat, literally. The tastings of Albanian pastries, olives, cheeses, pizza, canolis, etc. from the Italian shops that dot the avenue was a delicious part of the tour. I also appreciated commentary/ history about some of the bulidings. As a local I've always wanted to go to Arthur Avenue to shop and browse. This was definitely the way to go and the list of establishments that we visited, provided by Susan Sez, will come in handy on my return trip to AA. My friend from San Francisco, a total foodie, was truly impressed with the area and the tour. Many thanks again to Susan Sez for a delightful outing.
