| Susan was very personable and knowledgeable. She was very familiar with the tour area and able to provide information and stories relating to the neighborhood that extended beyond the food. The food samples were ample and delicious. Would highly recommend the tour to anyone considering it and will definitely suggest it to anyone making the trip to NYC. |

| My wife, son and I really enjoyed our Arthur Avenue tour. Just meeting Susan in Grand Central paved the way to alot of fun, and she was a fantastic tour guide. We especially enjoyed the shops and the great tastes of Arthur Avenue. We would recommend the Artur Avenue tour with Susan Birnbaum to all. Enjoy!!! |

| Despite the pouring rain the day of the trip, our guide and our fellow travelers were treated to a really enjoyable afternoon of "schmoozing with the locals". We've had the Arthur Avenue Cookbook for several years and on the tour we felt as though we were walking through a living version of the cookbook. We visited all the stores and met or saw most of the individuals and characters listed in the cookbook. We would highly recommend this tour expecially, since Susan seems to possess a joyous and encyclopedic knowledge of the neighborhood and the history of the bronx in general. She was greeted enthusiastically by most of the local businesses we visited and seemed to sweep us up in the lifestyle and activities as we toured the neighborhood, if only for that short time. |

| The tour we took was on a cloudy damp day but everyone's spirits were high as Susan gave an amazing tour. She was both knowledgable, interesting and committed to giving everyone the best tour possible. Not only did we receive the numerous "tastings" Sue listed on her site but many more from most of the other shops we stopped in. All the food was delicious and all the shop keepers were friendly and truly glad to answer any questions we had. The pace was very leisurely and actual ran well over the 2 hours noted on her site. I would strongly recommend this tour to anyone . We were so impressed that we went home with a bag full of Italian "goodies" to share with family and friends !! |

| We had to pay extra (9,50 p.p.) for the train from Grand Central to the Bronx, which was an extra cost we did not expect. Our Metrocard was valid for subway and buses, but not for the train.
We walked around Arthur Avenue and surroundings, but apart from the food which was ok, we did not learn a lot about the Bronx. The info given was not very interesting. Consider it to be a food tasting tour, not a Bronx tour. |

| In the Bronx, not on the Lower East Side of Manhattan!
This is a delightful, easily paced, intimate walk through the Arthur Street area--the Little Italy of the Bronx--a genuine neighborhood, not a tourist destination like Mulberry Street in Manhattan. You won't find "The Sopranos" here, just the everyday lifestyle of everyday people who happen to be Italian. One of my favorite stops was the "candy store" where the "village elders" gather around to solve the problems of the world--and where one of the matriarchs of the neighborhood will explain to you how she created egg creams--no eggs, no cream. And if you don't believe her, get ready to beat a hasty retreat--and no egg cream for you! |

| My sister and I were the only ones on the tour which we didn't know till we met at the designated location. It might have been nice if we had been informed or even given a choice to reschedule with a larger group. This situation had it's pros and cons. Pros: it was just us; cons: it might have been more fun with a larger group. All in all it was enjoyable but there weren't nearly as many tastings as on previous tours. When we got back to the Metro North station to return to Grand Central, the ticket we were provided with was for another line and we each had to pay $13.00 to purchase another ticket on the train. I don't know how the tour guide missed this; we took the same train back that we took to get there. |

| Susan provided an amazing morning for my group. Her insightful commentary, funny anecdotes, great local knowledge - not to mention her special relationship with all the key restaurants and vendors - made it a memorable outing. She will absolutely tailoring her stops and tastings to your special interests. Whether you're a local or an out-of-towner you'll enjoy this tour. |

| We toured Arthur Avenue in the Bronx with Susan. We had a wonderful time. She was so informative and we loved stopping into the food shops and trying the wonderful samples. We had so much to eat that we were stuffed by the end and we discovered many new places to come back and try. Susan gave us lots of time and we were not hurried at all. We highly recommend the tour. |
