My sister and I were the only ones on the tour which we didn't know till we met at the designated location. It might have been nice if we had been informed or even given a choice to reschedule with a larger group. This situation had it's pros and cons. Pros: it was just us; cons: it might have been more fun with a larger group. All in all it was enjoyable but there weren't nearly as many tastings as on previous tours. When we got back to the Metro North station to return to Grand Central, the ticket we were provided with was for another line and we each had to pay $13.00 to purchase another ticket on the train. I don't know how the tour guide missed this; we took the same train back that we took to get there. |

The guide picked us up at the Grand Central Station in the city where the tour began. We took the Northern train to The Bronx. The walking tour itself was nice, had numerous stops and interesting to see the neighborhood.
Our group was disappointed that at the end of the tour we weren't given a guide to get back to the train area. It was explained that some people wanted to visit the Bronx Zoo or the Bontanical Gardens while in the Bronx. This is ok but I still believe for the ones that did not want to do this should have been taken back to the area to catch the train. Our group is not "big city" people and was not comfortable with following verbal directions. Perhaps even a map given out at end of tour would have been better.
We went to the Botanical Gardens and considered touring. We were not informed though that it was a twenty dollar charge. We had to ask three different cops/booth attendants to finally locate where we caught the train back to Grand Central Station. |

My friend and I totally enjoyed Susan and her tour. She is informative, down to earth, friendly, lots of energy. I plan on doing the rest of her tours as I return to the city over the next couple of years. I want to bring my daughter, also. The food was yummy and the vendors very pleasant. I would highly recommend this tour. |

our group which consists of mothers and daughters (ages 35-40) have gone on walking tours for the past 4 years. we loved seeing the bronx, but felt this tour was a bit unorganized. we were not told that we would have to pay an additional $9 per person for the train ride (don't mind that but it should be included in the price; so make the whole deal more). and if you do not want to include it, then have the tickets already purchased for us and we can pay the person back right then. this tour did not have nearly as much food as the other ones we have been on. only one kind of pizza, instead of several to sample, etc. susan was very nice and we would like for her tours to be a success. we went into one pasta place where they make their own and cut it right there (thought we would be sampling the pasta) but it was if we wanted to buy some. then we got back to the train station too late for the next train and had to wait over 30 minutes. she needs to watch the time so the tour ends in time for the train. thank you |

The tour we took was on a cloudy damp day but everyone's spirits were high as Susan gave an amazing tour. She was both knowledgable, interesting and committed to giving everyone the best tour possible. Not only did we receive the numerous "tastings" Sue listed on her site but many more from most of the other shops we stopped in. All the food was delicious and all the shop keepers were friendly and truly glad to answer any questions we had. The pace was very leisurely and actual ran well over the 2 hours noted on her site. I would strongly recommend this tour to anyone . We were so impressed that we went home with a bag full of Italian "goodies" to share with family and friends !! |

Susan provided an amazing morning for my group. Her insightful commentary, funny anecdotes, great local knowledge - not to mention her special relationship with all the key restaurants and vendors - made it a memorable outing. She will absolutely tailoring her stops and tastings to your special interests. Whether you're a local or an out-of-towner you'll enjoy this tour. |

After having done a fantstic tour recently with Food Tours of New York, the tour leader being Todd who was outstanding, I pursuaded my son to do this tour with me, he is 29 years ol d and a buiseness professional. Well upon meeting the group, we were the only 2 amongst a lovely group of ladiies who were approximately by my guess all 80 years old, needless to say this tour became very long and so slow, believe it or not we were in little Itlay and of the few samples of food we had, not one was pasta. We would of enjoyed this much more doing the area alone. I felt as if the tour leader who knew this tour was coming should have thought about how slow this was going to be for others. We left before the end. I feel very sorry not to give this a good rating as Susan was so nice, but I could not even begin to compare it to my previous tour. I am not sure how this could have been prevented and a faster and more productive day gained |

Susan gave us an excellent tour of Aurthur Avenue. She was very knowledgeable, and the food was excellent! We had the BEST pizza we've ever tasted. All the locals were very friendly and you could tell that Susan felt very at home on Aurthur Avenue. Definitely recommend! |
