We loved our tour with SusanSez.

We toured Arthur Avenue in the Bronx with Susan. We had a wonderful time. She was so informative and we loved stopping into the food shops and trying the wonderful samples. We had so much to eat that we were stuffed by the end and we discovered many new places to come back and try. Susan gave us lots of time and we were not hurried at all. We highly recommend the tour.

My wife, son and I really enjoyed our Arthur Avenue tour. Just meeting Susan in Grand Central paved the way to alot of fun, and she was a fantastic tour guide. We especially enjoyed the shops and the great tastes of Arthur Avenue. We would recommend the Artur Avenue tour with Susan Birnbaum to all. Enjoy!!!

We had a great time on the knitting walk about. Susan is just great and took us to fantastic places. I took my friend as a retirement gift and we both were very happy (But tired) at the end of the day. I highly recommend this trip.

The Arthur Avenue Walkabout with Susan was marvelous. Being my first real trip to NYC, I wanted to get a feel for the people who live there, not just the glitz. The stores, the people and the food were "delicious ". Susan was great fun and very considerate, thinking of all the details. I highly recommend walkabouts with Susan.

The tour we took was on a cloudy damp day but everyone's spirits were high as Susan gave an amazing tour. She was both knowledgable, interesting and committed to giving everyone the best tour possible. Not only did we receive the numerous "tastings" Sue listed on her site but many more from most of the other shops we stopped in. All the food was delicious and all the shop keepers were friendly and truly glad to answer any questions we had. The pace was very leisurely and actual ran well over the 2 hours noted on her site. I would strongly recommend this tour to anyone . We were so impressed that we went home with a bag full of Italian "goodies" to share with family and friends !!

Good Tour/Not enough Seen

We enjoyed the tour however feel that it would have been better if there had been a time limit set for each store visited. Too much time was spent at 1st location and we didn't get to as many others as we would have liked. This was a great way however to see where some of the little knit/yarn shops are located. Maybe ending the tour at the shop we started with would have worked better. It was a great store and it was hard to leave.

too slow

After having done a fantstic tour recently with Food Tours of New York, the tour leader being Todd who was outstanding, I pursuaded my son to do this tour with me, he is 29 years ol d and a buiseness professional. Well upon meeting the group, we were the only 2 amongst a lovely group of ladiies who were approximately by my guess all 80 years old, needless to say this tour became very long and so slow, believe it or not we were in little Itlay and of the few samples of food we had, not one was pasta. We would of enjoyed this much more doing the area alone. I felt as if the tour leader who knew this tour was coming should have thought about how slow this was going to be for others. We left before the end. I feel very sorry not to give this a good rating as Susan was so nice, but I could not even begin to compare it to my previous tour. I am not sure how this could have been prevented and a faster and more productive day gained

This was my second tour with Susan. I had to bring a friend to experience the "Real Little Italy" of New York. The tour was so informative and interesting. The tastings were wonderful and generous. Thank you Susan!

Interesting, but not at the top of my list to do

The tour was just okay: lots of walking, not so much stopping, ran past its expected time limit (which was okay for me, but several had to leave before the end because of other plans.) The leader was well-versed, but allowed group to ramble and take their time so the pace was too slow for me. Also the area wasn't all that exciting. I probably best enjoyed the international origin of the group, with many from abroad. Good food, though!

Genuine Italians in New York City!

In the Bronx, not on the Lower East Side of Manhattan! This is a delightful, easily paced, intimate walk through the Arthur Street area--the Little Italy of the Bronx--a genuine neighborhood, not a tourist destination like Mulberry Street in Manhattan. You won't find "The Sopranos" here, just the everyday lifestyle of everyday people who happen to be Italian. One of my favorite stops was the "candy store" where the "village elders" gather around to solve the problems of the world--and where one of the matriarchs of the neighborhood will explain to you how she created egg creams--no eggs, no cream. And if you don't believe her, get ready to beat a hasty retreat--and no egg cream for you!

Uncovered a new part of NYC for me!

Had a delightful afternoon with a great group of people on and about Arthur Avenue, eating our way from one great establishment to another. I will definitely take my husband back as well as a large shopping sac to take home more goodies next time. Thought Arthur Avenue was as diverse, perhaps even nicer, as Little Italy in Manhattan.

Susan was informative and selected wonderful tastings that left us totally satiated. We enjoyed watching the cheesemaking demo and the tasting of the fresh mozarella, the garlic sundried tomatoes, the pizza and shopping in the "Little Italy". The history of the neighborhood was so interesting. I'm not sure we would have ventured out to "The Bronx" if not for the tour. Thank you Susan!

The best tour of our New York City trip!

My husband and I took many tours during our week in New York and agree that the Arthur Avenue Walkabout was the best. Susan is very informative and the food samples were outstanding. The neighborhood is amazing and we loved every minute of our tour. I am certainly glad this tour was scheduled early in the week before I fell and sprained my ankle!

There were two of us on the knitting crawl. We had lots of fun even though it rained all day!!!! It was great to go to many hidden knitting stores.
