| My wife and I have been in N.Y. before, with limited knowledge of Harlem. This tour brought us up to date on history, walking thru highlights of architectural beauty, all the while being fed with info about interesting people, not least those of the jazz heritage.

| Excellent well informed guide. A lot of walking but the only way to see Harlem and rest stops were well timed and very good. |

| The tour was fantastic. For anyone looking for an extensive, insightful look at the development of Harlem, with many references to the Harlem jazz scene and its glorious history, this is the tour! Paul's insights extend beyond music; he also points to numerous key sites related to Harlem's and New York's development and the community's political leaders. Paul is a fantastic guide--knowledgeable, friendly, enthusaistic, and upbeat! Be prepared to see a lot! It was well worth it--and a great education too. |

| The Harlem Jazz Walk was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. We were treated to architectural highlights of Harlem, many unexpected. Everything from wooden town homes to stately mansions with incredible views of the city. We learned a good deal about local history, as it relates to NYC and to jazz. Welcome stops along the way included the delightful Settepani Bakery and Cafe, as well as a jazz record shop.
Our guide, Paul, was both engaging and knowledgeable. He talked about where people lived and played, both at the places that survived and those that are no more. These were not the burnt broken images of Harlem from the seventies, but a beautiful part of the city with a rich history of change.
Thanks, Paul! |

| The guide was very enthusiastic about jazz however I think the group was not on the right tour as we did not seem to know about many of the artists he mentioned. I think the guide quickly realised this and largely gave up on showing/telling us lots of facts about the history of jazz in Harlem. However he did show us a lot of beautiful buildings in the area and he did explain a lot of the history of them.
If you want a jazz tour, then definitely know your stuff and choose this one. |
