Paul who guids this tour loves Brooklyn and likes to show it off. He does it with passion and in good taste. History, architecture, current politics, people, places, interesting shops, jazz and blues tips, varied neighborhoods are all (and much more) a part of his endless knowledge. He is really a great guy who made our N.Y. experience memorable. Highly recommended !

Culturally-rich tour with a delightful guide

Paul Blair did a terrific job of showing me many different areas of Brooklyn, including Park Slope, Prospect Park South, Brighton Beach, Coney Island, and Brooklyn Heights. He even added an hour-long walk through historic Fort Greene neighborhoods to accommodate my special interest in them. Our stop at Ozzie's Coffee, an old pharmacy in Park Slope, and our lunch at Memo, a wonderful Turkish place in Kings Highway - both dutch treat - were highlights. As an anthropologist/professor, I especially appreciated Paul's interest in the various cultures of Brooklyn as well as his architectural expertise. He is a delightful companion who has a wealth of knowledge to share and does so with grace and enthusiasm. I look forward to taking the Queens tour with him later this year.

As a native of Brooklyn, I had the opportunity of seeing things and places that I had not visited in over 50 years. I highly recommend this entertaining and informative walk. Paul Blair is an expert. Don't miss this.

Everything You've Wanted to Know about Brooklyn...

My wife and I had never been to Brooklyn but had read a lot about it. On our recent trip to New York City we decided to take the time to discover Brooklyn and used the web to find a walking tour. We signed up for the 4 hour Bountiful Brooklyn Tour and we were delighted with it. The guide had a thorough knowledge of the borough and we managed to see all the places we had read about, Brighton Beach, Coney Island, Brooklyn Heights, etc. We had lunch at a Turkish restaurant which turned out to be the culinary highlight of our trip. We ate at restaruants that were 6 or 7 times more expensive but the quality of this little neighbourhood diner could not be surpassed. My wife and I walked across the Brooklyn Bridge to get us in the spirit for the tour. The tour met or surpassed our expectations and at the end of it the tour guide presented us with a CD of jazz that has joined our music collection as a favourite.

We were exhiliarated by our trip to Brooklyn, gaining an insider's view due to our knowledgable guide. This tour was well planned yet had an adventurous aspect at the same time. We plan to link up with our tour guide on future trips to the City. The whole experience was a delight.

Paul was a great guide and fashioned the tour more towards architecture which we enjoy. he shows you places to eat and some of the amazing cultural diversity that is Brooklyn. He is an affable pleasent guy in his fifties totally comfortable with the neighbourhood. I think i'd like him to show me Queens too which he can do

This tour was one of the highlights of our trip to New York. Our guide, a Brooklyn local, introduced us to a variety of Brooklyn neighbourhoods, their history, architecture and good food. There is no better way to spend a day.

BROOKLYN IN ONE DAY: THE HIDDEN CHARM OF NY
Mon, Oct 29, 07   10:00 AM catherineduv Female 40-49 International Tourist(s) Individual
Having a guide to visit Brooklyn in just 1 day was absolutely essential (it would have been impossible to do so on our own; taking different subways without being lost would have been impossible). Discovering Coney Island was something a bit mythical for us, foreigners (we just knew about Coney Island through old Hollywood movies we can see in France). Paul was great and his English was easily understandable for a French girl like me - which is not the case with all Americans, I can tell... I appreciated his kindness in taking us to the entry of Brooklyn bridge; since his job was over, he could simply have left us... Catherine DUVAL Merci Paul, La visite de Brooklyn a été un MUST de notre visite de NY et les rues et villas charmantes que nous avons découvertes resteront dans notre mémoire. Je recommanderai cette visite à mes amis qui partiront à NY. Merci encore.

Walking + subway = the best way of sightseeing

We have taken many tours in different countries when we have been transported in buses or vans. These tours have included a number of stops. The Brooklyn tour is the best tour we have taken during many years of travelling. Walking in interesting areas of Brooklyn together with a very well informed guide and using the subway between these areas is a much better way of sightseeing than to go around in a bus.

Interesting Tour

This tour was very interesting, conducted by a local resident. We walked thru two areas of downtown Brooklyn (I think they were called Fort Green and Clinton Hill). This included a beautiful old Baptist Church and the School of Design. Then we went by bus to another section (can't remember what it was called) for an Indonesian lunch. Then by subway to Coney Island and Brighton Beach. Unfortunately, we both overestimated our ability to do a six hour tour with a lot of walking and wanted to end it early as we were the only two "customers." Paul was gracious enough to take us back to Manhattan and show us Katz's deli before we departed. And, since then, he has graciously located a grave of a family member in a Brooklyn cemetary that we didn't have time to visit. The only thing that was a negative is that the materials we received from Zerve showed two conflicting meeting places. Fortunately they were across the street from each other. Because there were no other customers, and Paul was a little late, as well as not wearing any kind of ID badge, we could have easily missed him. Great tour and we would recommend it to others interested in lots of walking and a lot of detail that you can't get on a bus tour.
