What a beautiful way to experience Lake Tahoe!
Wed, Jun 25, 08   5:30 PM soccernu13 Female 20-29 Domestic Tourist(s) Couple on a Date
My boyfriend and I took the sunset sail cruise of Lake Tahoe. It was my second time visiting. The first visit, we took a site seeing cruise on the Ms. Dixie II, but I enjoyed the sunset sail much more. It's a smaller crowd, so it was more personal, the view of Lake Tahoe at sunset is so beautiful! The hosts of the sail were really wonderful! They were very informative, great company, and even provided hors d'oeuvres, cocktails and other beverages free! I could not have had a better time seeing the sites. I would highly recommend this cruise to anyone visiting Tahoe!!

Third time sailing on Lake Tahoe

Beautiful to see the mountains from a different vantage point. On a windy day, it is really exciting. Those that get seasick should not worry. Even on rough waters, it is pretty smooth. Captain was great at letting the kids take a turn at the wheel. Very relaxing. Great photo opportunity.

We had a great time with our out-of-town guests

The four of us really enjoyed our sailing adventure. It was easy to make the reservations and purchase the tickets in advance. When we arrived at the boat harbor there were no surprises, everything went very smoothly. I would definetly do this again.

Great Day on lake Tahoe

The wind on the 12 noon sail was not with us on the way out, but we had a great time on board with Capt. Jim and fro. The place is magnificent and the lake is beautiful and Tahoe Cruz is a joy. All that we knew in advance. Jim and Fro made it a wonderful afternoon. Full of local knowledge that they impart in a warm and very personal way. When you add to that that we had the wind coming in, it was perfect. I would do this again in a heartbeat. It was our last day in Tahoe and the most memorable time of our trip.

A real sailing opportunity
Mon, Jun 9, 08   2:30 PM sisholm Female 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
We took our kids for their first single hull sailing experience on the Tahoe Cruz. They had a blast and the captain even let them have a hand at the helm. This was a real sailing trip, with afternoon breezes blowing in gusts up to 28 knots, giving the kids a real taste of sailing and they loved every minute of it. The crew was very friendly and made everyone comfortable. We only wish it could have lasted longer!

Staff was wonderful and very attentive. The wind wasn't cooperating the day of the cruise so we were under motor for most of the time. The staff was apologetic & made the best of it!

Relaxing and Friendly

Both my husband and myself thoroughly enjoyed our time sailing on Lake Tahoe. It was a very relaxing atmosphere, the weather was perfection, which understanably helps. The staff/crew were extremely friendly and very eager to make the time enjoyable. They casually served just the right amount of snacks and drinks and interacted with everyone on board in a very frienly manner. This is not one of those sight seeing type of sails where you need to pay attention, just pure relaxation and friendly conversation. We would recommend this cruise to any of our friends or family and we will be back for more...

Great Way to see Lake Tahoe

This was my second charter of the "Tahoe Cruz" and the crew was once again friendly, helpful and absolutely on time to get the cruise started. Sailing up the west shore of Tahoe out of Tahoe City provides one of the best vistas you can get of the Tahoe basin. The boat is roomy for passengers and quite fast for a 50 footer. Taking control of the wheel is a great thrill for novice or seasoned sailors alike. I highly recommend this sailing charter for everyone.

Weather detracts from cruise
Fri, Sep 21, 07   2:00 PM JudithKeyani Female Unspecified Local Individual
We have taken this cruise (the sunset one) two or three times previously and found it just great. This time, however, the weather was not good, and the lake very choppy, so it was really questionable whether it should have gone out. There were no other sailboats on the lake. I think the group had a good time - mostly men - but it was very different from the previous times. The only other thing I would mention is that it seems a little risky to have the passengers take the helm. It seemed as though they were experienced, but maybe not on Lake Tahoe, and the choppiness and swells made me a little concerned. We have loved this opportunity to have a little sailing time on the Lake and glad you make that available. But I do think those things deserve some thought.

Went 2nd Friday in September, weather was warm but cool with breeze, sunny, nice day for sailing. Needed jacket, but was nice enough for end of season. Captain Jim and Fro were accommodating, nice. Twenty passengers on board. Easy to find. Would recommend.
