Timeline Touring/ LoVer East Side Tours

Since we were just two women on this tour we were able to talk openly and able to ask many questiosns Our guide was attentive, personal and very knowledgable. i will definitely recemmend this activity!

We enjoyed the tour very much but regretted that we were not taken inside an actual tenament. We would have preferred to see an actual tenament than the converted hotel. Good experience nonetheless. Thank you Jeff.

My 11 year old son and I had a marvelous time. We learned a lot and my son told his dad "it was great and the tourguide had great energy." Highly recommended.

Great tour

We weren't familiar w/this part of town and its heritage, but walking w/ a very friendly and knowledgable guide through the streests, hearing stories, tasting its magnificent falvours etc. was a great experience. We sure recomand it to any local person who wants to explore the city on its marvel options and for tourists!

excellent tour very informative and enjoyable

The tour took us to a variety of historical sites that gave us a much better feeling for Jewish history in the Lower East Side of New York. The tour guide was a fountainhead of information and carried historical photos with him that helped us to imagine the neighborhood at the turn of the century. The tour was comfortably paced, not too slow or too fast, and included a stop for authentic bagels and bialys.

Our tour was, overall, a positive experience. The guide was knowledgeable and open to questions. One minor shortcoming was that we did not, due to time constraints, get to see the Jewish cemetery in the area.

Jeff was a very informative and interesting guide. There was so much to learn and we covered so much detail. The visit to the Greek synagogue was a gem. This was a wonderful way to remember some childhood memories.

I took my aunt on this tour recently, as she is a fan of walking, history and New York City in general. We both had a wonderful time! The locations we visited were fascinating and the tour guide, Jeff, really made the whole experience. Not only is he a walking encyclopedia, filled with a seemingly infinite range of knowledge about the lower east side of Manhattan and really the whole city, but he also had an interesting anecdote for just about every issue and question that was raised. He treated me and my aunt like honored guests on the tour and I cannot thank him enough for such a great time! I highly recommended this tour.

This tour was one of the best Sundays we have spent in the City. Jeff's knowledge of the area, its rich history, its cultural institutions, landmarks (City designated and otherwise), shops, restaurants, and general vibe, are unparralled, and will leave you wishing you had gone earlier. The locals (who incidentally all know him), have enthusiastic hellos for the group and the level to which Jeff has woven himself into the tapestry of the area makes for a rich a rewarding experience. I grew up in Brooklyn, moved to Florida and now live in Jersey City. This tour introduced us to parts of the lower east side we didn't even know existed -- the history of the place is so interesting. I could almost feel by grandparents living there when they were young.
