Seller Description:
Our guided Segway tours will get you up close and personal to Raleigh’s points of interest. There’s nothing like sightseeing on a Segway, and unlike a walking tour, you’ll cover much more ground as you effortlessly “glide” from place to place.

You'll be riding state-of-the-art Segway i2s featuring LeanSteer technology: shift your weight forward, backward, lean the handlebars left or right, and the Segway intuitively moves in the direction you want to go.

Triangle Segway is the only authorized Segway dealer and Segway tour operator in the Triangle area. Our tours have been featured in Raleigh’s News & Observer, WRAL TV, NBC-17 and News 14.

Activity Description
Join us for a fun, history-filled glide through the west side of downtown Raleigh!

The Raleigh West tour is an "Intermediate Level" glide that is a fun tour for riders who've been on a Segway tour before and are looking to hone their Segway skills on a more challenging route. On this Intermediate Level tour, you'll negotiate your Segway over train tracks, a few hills and some narrow sidewalks. This tour is not recommended for new riders.

Highlights of the Raleigh West tour:

  • North Carolina State Capitol: The 19th-century beauty is steeped in history and has been restored to its 1840 -1865 appearance.
  • Hillsborough Street: This thoroughfare was one of Raleigh's most prestigious addresses in the late 1800s and early 1900s.
  • Glenwood Avenue: Today known as "Glenwood South," it is one of downtown Raleigh's dining and nightlife hubs.
  • St. Mary's School: During the Civil War, Saint Mary’s became a safe haven for relatives of both Union and Confederate generals, including Robert E. Lee’s daughter and the family of Jefferson Davis.
  • Joel Lane Museum House: Built in the 1770s for Joel Lane, a prominent statesman and soldier known as “The Father of Raleigh,” this restored landmark is the oldest existing home in Wake County.
