Fun, but would have liked more historical info
Sat, Oct 11  2:00 PM pmarenfeld Male 30-39 Domestic Tourist(s) Other
I know that our entire group enjoyed the tour, and our guide was very friendly and I would recommend it to others. The problem I had with it was not enough on the history of Tucson, and too much on contemporary things of downtown and 4th Ave. We would have like to have heard more about the Presidio, maybe some more historical facts about Tucson's origin, and original settlers, and some information about more wild west days, and life in the Barrio.

All 8 if us loved it!

My husband and I have a home in Oro Valley and invited some Cleveland and Denver friends to join us for a long weekend. They were all apprehensive about doing a Segway but willing to give it a try. We decided on the Rock-n-Roll tour and had a fantastic time! We would suggest this to anyone wanting to do something a little different and plan on doing it again with another group of friends who will be joining us next winter. Loads of fun and easy to do after a short class. Thanks!! PS: Great milkshake at the end of the tour!!

Great Experience!

This was a great way to see some of the historic sites located in the area. Unfortunantly, one site was closed that should have been open - but, the guide was great and we enjoyed an unusual way to see Tucson during a hot month (July) when walking would not have been that much fun. I would highly recommend the ride as an unusual and unique experience to add to your vacation iteniary in Tucson.

Super way to see Tucson!

We're in the process of relocating from NH and our 24 yo son was visiting. We enjoyed everything about this tour. The segways were easy to get a feel for (super instruction!), touring some of the historic neighborhoods was interesting and infomative, riding around the UA campus was a great way to see it, the rattlesnake and basket bridges were super, and the milkshake at the end was memorable. We would highly recommend this activity and look forward to going again ourselves!

Stu was an outstanding guide. He spent just the right amount of time in showing me the Segway's controls and letting me practice on the showroom floor before hitting the streets. I was really glad I signed up to do this! It was a lot of fun to ride around and see the sights for two hours and experience what its like to ride a Segway. When I have company from out of town visit, there is a very good chance that I will recommend we all go and do this again. Very cool!

Once in a life time experience! Tour guide was excellent with detailed knowledge of downtown neighborhoods and specfically University of Arizona campus history. The Snake Bridge was indeed the grand finale!

Fantastic adventure!

We highly recommend this activity. Our guide was thorough in our training on the Segway PT equipment, and made sure we were confident in our skills before we started our tour. The tour was wonderful, we experienced everything that was promised and then some. Our guide was very knowledgeable of the area and had many interesting bits of local history to share. We couldn't have asked for a more exciting, new experience. We definitely have plans for inviting friends and family to join us on our next tour.

We had adequate instruction and practice before hitting the streets and our safety was always our guide's primary concern. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour and ride. I would definitely schedule again when my next group of guests come to town.

Segway Fun in the Sun

Touring the Historic Presidio Trail on a Segway was a thrilling experience! Our group was the envy of the fellow pedestrians we encountered (and even some motorized traffic). We have no fear of riding a Segway since this was our second tour and highly recommend everyone to experience these tours. Try it you will like it!

We had a great time. Our group was mixed; a young adult male & two middle-aged females, one with very little balance or coordination, and we all loved it. The Segways were easy to ride, and the tour was well planned (I know the area well, and I know our guide chose a good route.) The guide, Stu, was extremely patient and clear in teaching us how to ride, and very conscientious in making sure we were safe while we had fun (we're not good at following rules, but his made sense and never felt oppressive). We'd do it again in a heartbeat.

Become the attraction!
Wed, May 7  10:00 AM chasta75 Male 30-39 Local Family Without Children
Our guide was knowledgable about the tremendous amount of history along our Segway tour. He showed much entheusiasm was was extremely personable. Segways are awesome and we got a real kick out of being the attraction as everyone we passed along the tour could not help but to stare at us in awe. Be sure to bring a camera. Psssst . . . the good parking is in the back off of N Herbert Ave.

Fun thing to do
Fri, May 2  10:00 AM kathleen11 Female 50-59 Local Group of Friends
I took my daughter and her husband for a Segway tour. I've been wanting to try a Segway for ages and Tucson Springs are so gorgeous I thought it would be fun. I read other people's reviews about busy streets and thought they were being wimps, but the truth is the tour I went on (Shake, Rattle, and Roll) does cross some really busy streets right in the heart of the University business district. Tucson drivers are notoriously bad at giving the right of way to pedestrians, they're sick of waiting on endless streams of students meander across the street, and most people aren't sure whether Segways are pedestrian or motorized. The short of it is one driver pushed her way through the middle of our group as we were crossing the street and I got scared (since she was coming at me), hit the curb, and fell down pretty hard. It wasn't a big deal, I just bruised and scraped my elbow. There is some potential for getting hurt, especially if you happen to fall into the street, so I would not recommend this for elderly folks. All that said, we really did have a fun trip. The guide was friendly and helpful and his little tidbits about Tucson were fairly interesting, even though two out of three of us live or have lived here. I do have a couple of suggestions. I wish the guide had put the least skilled rider (me) more in the middle of the pack. I was right behind the guide, and so had almost no time to react when he gave us directions where he was going. I'd suggest he give his directions and instructions earlier than the riders behind him need them so there's time to react. He or she should always have a First Aid kit on hand. And I'd definitely recommend wearing a long-sleeved shirt and long pants. A fall on a street, even at only 5 mph, can hurt. We also had quite a bit of interest from drivers and other pedestrians and the guide could get some free advertising just by wearing a t-shirt with contact info or some kind of signage on the Segway. Other than that, a very fun excursion.
