Wall Street Walks

We were on holiday from the UK and coming from a banking background I had read a lot about Wall St and its firms over the years so it was nice to see it all for myself. For me the highlight was the visit to the New York Fed at the end of the walk not only to see a glimpse of the gold bullion but to see the location which was at the centre of the financial storm in Sept/Oct 2008 where all the bankers convened to save the system as described in "Too Big to Fail". The South African lady who led the walk was very interesting to listen to and managed to get us in to what is now the Cipriani ballroom - it is a pity we could not go into the NY Stock Exchange for security reasons. Neither my wife or I managed to catch her name and she didnt wear a badge - we would like to know. Can you e mail this information please.

We enjoyed the tour with our guide who narrated the tour with knowledge, enthusiasm and creativity. We learned details and finally could see the various buildings we had read about through the years. The headsets were great.

Annaline was a fantastic guide, very friendly! it wasn't supposed to be a private tour but as nobody showed up that day (because of the rain) except me, I really got lucky and had a private tour with her :-) Annaline is very well informed about the stock market, she knows a lot about the area and I really enjoyed the fact that she is so enthusiastic and answered every question I had. I'm not from the world finance but I did find the tour so interesting, I definitely recommend this tour! Merci Annaline!

She was an excellent guide. She has a wealth of knowledge about the Wall Street area, and was able to express this in interesting and enlightening ways. She knew the history and recent events and activities . She tied the past to the current in ways that were very insightful. She listened very well to our questions and was able to deal with them all. Superb leader.

Excellent! The tour was described as a 1.5 hour tour but was over 2 hours because the tour guide, whose name I think was Marie-who worked at NASDAQ, knew so much about all the sites and she truly loved giving her knowledge of the area. She was excellent and I would even go on the tour again because of how good she was. Of all the tours I have done in New York, this was the best tour that I have been on.

The tour was longer than the 90 minutes and was worth the extra time; tour guide was very knowledgeable and was able to answer all questions. Great for knowing the background of all the buildings and institutions as well as finding interesting new places. I just wish there was more pride shown in the accomplishments of Wall Street (and please don't use that awful, inappropriate term "robber barrons"). To praise Carnegie for his charity rather than the great steel industry he created is like praising Lincoln for his beard.

The tour was really great and we learn a lot about the history of the financial district in New York. It was more complete that we thought. Our Guide, Annaline, was the perfect person for the tour and we really appreciated the experience. We're not anglophone and we understand about 98% of the tour because her explanations were really clear. Thank you very much again Annaline!

From the advertisement, I thought I would get a highly educated wall street worker or former worker. Not so. Mistakes were made on the tour, the former Secretary of the Treasury is Robert Rubin not Paul Rubin. New York Stock exchange went public not 20 years ago, about 5 years ago. The Britished taxed the colonists to pay for the French and Indian war, not just so they could keep taxing the colonists. Also when we went to the Federal Reserve tour, no further tour information from the guide. We had extra time would have been interesting to learn something that was not on the tour. Also did not know when the tour ended. After the Fed tour, we did not see our guide again, was the tour over?

Excellent tour with very informative guide who actually worked in the area she was speaking about. If you have any interest in the financial aspect of Wall Street this tour is well worth the money and time.

Tour guide was well informed on subject matter. Wouldn't recommend tour for children under the age of 12.
