My family of 3 joined the History of Wall street+Gold Vault+Ground Zero Guided Tour in New York just past Christmas (2011). All the problems we encountered were related to the management of the tour, not the tour guide herself. The tour guide was professional and enthusiastic with her talk. Here are some of the problems we encountered with this activity:
1. The exact address of the meeting place is not clear. The instruction on the ticket said to meet in a building across street from 55 Wall Street. 55 Wall Street is a big corner building. There is 3 buildings that are across from it technically. To a tourist in a foreign city and maybe running a bit tight on time, would you think this kind of direction make sense? Why not just say meet at the public area of 54 Wall Street?
2. No signs. Even when we suspected we were in the right building, there was no sign to confirm it . Furthermore, there was no sign to say this is the Wall street Tour+Gold Vault+Ground Zero Guided Tour or any other tour. On the day we did the tour, Zerve was running 2 different guided tours that day at the same time, because there was no sign and no one to direct us to the right group, we ended up with a different tour, one that did not include the Gold Vault. It was the inclusion of Gold Vault or Federal Reserve tour that directed me to Zerve. But as it happened, we missed that very important part of the tour. The manager agreed to refund $10 to each of us for the mixed up. I happened to know Federal Reserve Guide tour is done by Federal Reserve themselves and normally is free but need prior booking. What happened during Christmas time was that all these tour companies booked up all the time slots and force tourists to pay for the tour since this is the only way he/she can see the inside of Federal Reserve. I am upset because we arrived early to the meeting place and verified with the manager herself as to which group to go with and then still ended up in the wrong group. For all l know, I may not be able to comeback to New York again and this opportunity of doing the Federal Reserve is gone forever. |

Our guide Annaline was so informative and made a rather dry subject come to life for us. Would recommend it to anyone and would even take the tour again. |

Our tour guide was very knowledgable about the history of Wall Street and how the system works. She had been a broker for many years and actually had worked for my present employer. She was always professional and answered any questions that members of the group had and would always asked if anyone did have a question. It was a great way to see Wall Street and hear the history as you walked and stood infront of the buildings where this history was made. |

it was enjoyable. The only thing i was confused about.. i guess i may have misread, but I thought I was going to get inside ground zero and didn't realize it was just going to be a tour outside of ground zero. but I was ok with that. |

We unfortunately had heavy rain but our guide made the best of the day and lead us around the Wall Street area. Protestors in area caused police barricades but guide obviously had knowledge of the area to still give the history area and navigate the area based on conditions provided. I would go again in hopes would be non-rainy day. |

Eventhough we had heavy rains during the tour, our tourguide Marie never lost her enthusiasm for one minute.
We had a great tour and learned a lot about the Wall Street history.
Absolutely recommendable!

Our tour guide was very knowledgable and enthusiastic. The walking tour was well paced with the right amount of information varying between history and current Wall St information. We really enjoyed the time in the Federal Reserve Bank too. We will definitely recommend this tour to others. |

Our guide was friendly, extremely knowledgeable, thorough and efficient, and came prepared with individualized audio equipment (much like museum audio guides equipped with ear 'pods' to hear her voice as we went along) so that everyone in the group would hear every word. We asked a number of questions, and our guide, Anna, knew the answers to each one. I would recommend this tour without hesitation to anyone interested in learning about the history of Wall Street and seeing the important sites where that history took place. We not only learned about financial aspects of the Street, but we learned lots of fascinating related details as well, such as how the 'step' architecture of NYC buildings was created to allow for light and air in what had been becoming a dark, enclosed region. We spent the next few days noticing how much architecture in the city reflected this building code.
The tour itself was fantastic, but the additional tour of the Federal Reserve bank vault where the gold is stored was the icing on a beautifully served cake. I'm a teacher, and would grade this tour as an A+ with Extra Credit! |
